Purpose of the study: The object of the analysis is to assess the impact of technological change on security in both socio-economic and military contexts. The essence of the research is to show opportunities and threats resulting from the use of new technologies in the public (political, economic, social) and military space. Methodology: The article was prepared based on critical analysis of literature and documents and uncontrolled observation method. Main findings: When analyzing the use and impact of new technologies in the area of security, the following key questions arise: Could new technologies create problems for arms control? Could a new weapon or its use trigger an arms race? Could new technologies cause problems for people and the environment? In fact, technological change can have both positive and negative effects on security. Above all, it is important to realize that not using new technology is just as dangerous as using it. This applies to the development of economy, civilization and social progress. In the military area, it seems most dangerous to entrust control of nuclear arsenals to computer systems endowed with the ability to make decisions on their own. Application of the study: Security forecasting based on the major variables emerging in today’s security environment. Original/Novelty of the study: The subject matter is very current, we all participate in the identified problem. The use of new technology, on the one hand, helps make security more effective, but on the other, strikes fear and unease. The emerging fear of the rapid development and sophistication of artificial intelligence appear to be on a collision course with historical models of human uniqueness and individuality.

Purpose of the study: Globalization has become a primary source for implementing capitalistic life. The advancement in human development has led to the Anthropocene. This paper focuses on how globalization impacts global climate change and the loss of identity and home due to humans' exploratory attitude toward the environment and its effect on surroundings. Issues in the study are addressed from a postmodern ecological perspective. Methodology: The researcher has taken ecocriticism as the analyzing theory to expose the ideology of anthropocentrism, which keeps humans at the centre of the earth and nature at its periphery. Apocalypticism is chosen theoretical tool of ecocritical analysis. Environmental ethics and justice is used to analyze ecocentric issues. Intertextuality and comparative study of novels are taken as the primary methods. Main Findings: Globalization is responsible for urban areas' rapid development, and anthropocentric variants are responsible for ecological disasters or climate change. This study demonstrates that human beings' perception of nature as a commodity/object to satisfy humans' unlimited desire has endangered nature. It is time to critically question the human interference in nature and create hope for rebuilding a new ecocentric mindset. The Application of the study: Eco literature deals with ecocentric issues through literary genres. The present paper studies the human-nature relationship and analysis how contemporary ecocentric novels deconstruct the culture-nature binary and anthropocentric hegemony. Hence, it is interdisciplinary. The above concerns are addressed from the perspective of climate fiction- The Hungry Tide and MaddAddam. The study's findings are not just restricted to the academic domain; instead, it appeals to all humans to change their notion of nature and aim for a sustainable environment. Novelty/Originality: In general, environmental and ecological studies scholars have resolved the ecocentric issue. In contrast to the above, the issue has been discussed from the lens of eco literature. Besides theorizing this academic discourse, the everyday human-nonhuman relationship is also portrayed through climate fiction.

Purpose of the study: The study aims to trace how the author has portrayed the characters in ways that they perform in specific ways to generate various effects that determine their gender roles. It aims to map gender performativity in the novel Estuary by close reading and analysing the acts and dialogues of the characters from a cultural context. Methodology: Qualitative analysis of the text was done to derive the findings. The text was subjected to close reading. The points relevant to the concept of gender performativity were highlighted using a pencil. The points were neatly organized and classified using a notebook. The points were developed into an essay by using critical thinking. Views from other disciplines such as psychology are incorporated making the study an interdisciplinary one. Main Findings: Though Perumal Murugan alters the stereotypical gender roles of Meghas’ parents at specific points in the novel, he reinforces them a more significant number of times than when he changes them. With his sarcasm as a tool, he supports Kumarasurar and Mangasuri as typical Indian parents of the 21st century, thereby stereotyping them in the novel. Applications of the study: This study will be useful in the fields of gender studies, cultural studies, domestic studies, the study of 21st century Tamil culture, South Asian studies, South Indian culture, etc. Novelty/Originality of the study: The study jots down the various ways in which gender is performed by a typical Tamil couple. Translated Tamil novels are rarely studied using the emerging literary theories including gender performativity. As the present analysis of the novel breaks down how gender is performed by the characters, it contributes to the field of gender studies as well as research on Tamil novels translated to English.

Purpose of the study: The study aims to delve into the potential of the graphic novel in the Indian context, for which I have used the works of Amruta Patil and Appupen. The paper investigates the concerns of environment, mythology, and feminine experience and its presentation on a graphic-literary landscape. Methodology: The methodology used in the paper is that of direct observation. The researcher has used the contributions of Pramod K. Nayar and Emma Varughese further to push the boundaries of the graphic novel in India. Main Findings: The paper’s main findings have been to bring to light the complex mesh of interdisciplinary strategies required to scope the medium of the graphic novel. The paper narrows down on the success of the graphic novel as a medium to address the issues of the environment in a much more nuanced manner. Applications of the study: This research can be used to widen the scope of Literary Eco-criticism. It includes the medium of the graphic novel and seeks to examine its operative strategies when raising attention to the issues that pertain to the environment. Novelty/Originality of the study: The terrain of the Indian Graphic Novel is still new and developing. While some studies have been done in this medium around the themes of the concerns of the cosmopolitan Indian, little has been done to look into the mythological roots and environmental concerns that this genre also illuminates. This essay is a significant step in that direction.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is to deconstruct the essentialist hegemonic discourse of purity and present ‘Jannat Guest House’ as a challenge to the ‘stereotype’ and a celebration of ‘impurities’ in The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy. Methodology: A postmodern perspective has been applied to this study. Postmodern theories of ‘plurality’, ‘shifts’ and ‘inclusion’ have been used for the meticulous study of the text. It uses the concept of ‘deterritorialization’ and the concept of ‘rhizome’ developed by Deleuze and Guattari. Main Findings: Arundhati Roy’s The Ministry of Utmost Happiness unpacks a narrative that, “by slowly becoming everything” resists the discourse of ‘purity’ as she has placed different voices irrespective of race, class, gender, or other binary specified terms, into one, Jannat Guest House. This study finds ‘Jannat Guest House’ as a Postmodern site of the dismantling of oppositional ‘binaries’ and a site of ‘inclusion’ which poses a threat to the ‘stereotype’ and a celebration of ‘impurities’. Applications of the study: The study is useful in the reading of the celebration of contaminated diversity. It will explore one of the mottos of the postmodern perspective and will be helpful to deconstruct the notions of purity. Novelty/Originality of the study: It will help to make the reader reciprocate the notions of impurities. It will help to dismantle the gleaming, consistent and coherent notions of purity. It will bring a change in their thinking over the concept of home, and celebration of individuality.

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore how fantasy probes the embedded meanings of creativity and communication. It also seeks to reiterate the role of fantasy and imagination in confronting contemporary issues in real life. Methodology: This study uses an interpretative approach using J.R.R Tolkien's theory of fantasy to analyze the text as an allegory. Through close reading and textual analysis, the text is analysed, relating the events to a personal and political context, which it allegorizes. Online scholarly materials on fantasy and storytelling, collected from various digital sources and libraries were explored to assist in analyzing the role of fantasy in dealing with the contemporary issues in the real world. Main Findings: The study has found that the power of imagination has brought fantasy into existence and fantasy is analyzed as a tool to resist the contemporary issues regarding the freedom of thought and speech in the real life. The study has also found that storytelling brings a union in the community to build an egalitarian society. Applications of the study: This study can be helpful in children’s literature, to prepare the children for their adulthood by equipping them with problem-solving skills and creative skills by empowering their power of imagination. It can also facilitate the children to empower be aware of their the sense of right to information and expression in their life. Novelty/Originality of the study: The study proves the text as fantasy fiction, not just for fun with the supernatural features, but has embedded messages in the symbols and metaphors, revealed through the storytelling technique. Purpose of the Study: This research paper intends to unravel and examine the postmodern elements in Katsuhiro Ōtomo’s anime film Akira (1988). This paper aims to analyze and critically study the postmodern elements as evident in the film and add more knowledge to the existing critical studies available on the film. Methodology: The primary text for this research is Katsuhiro Ōtomo’s anime film Akira (1988). Close textual analysis has been applied to analyze the text in view of the characteristics of postmodernism. The text is read in terms of postmodernism’s traits. Main Findings: Akira symbolically summarizes thoughts, ideas, and movements in post-WWII Japan. The film references many disaster texts from the repertoire of Japanese literature, cinema, and popular culture. The film exemplifies many postmodern traits such as discontinuity, pastiche, schizophrenia, hyperreality, cyberpunk, posthumanism, the cyborg et cetera. Application of the Study: This study will be beneficial to those who are pursuing research on anime and manga studies, cultural studies, popular culture, and postmodernism. Furthermore, this research will add more knowledge to the existing literature available on this anime film. Novelty/Originality of the Study: Ōtomo’s film Akira has evoked critical studies from a variety of critics and disciplines. However, a broader critical overview of the film’s postmodernism has always been lacking in the critical studies available on the film. Moreover, some specific issues such as posthumanism, the cyborg, postmodern paradoxes, glocalization et cetera have been overlooked by the critics. Therefore, this study will try to fill in the gaps of the previous studies.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this article is to answer the question: does changing the socioeconomic situation alter the households’ condition and energy poverty level in a noticeable manner in the region? (with particular emphasis on the COVID-19 pandemic period). Methodology: An inherent aspect of poverty is the limitation of the broadly defined development opportunities, both on economic, political, and social levels. Since economic poverty co-occurs with the phenomenon of energy poverty in households, the author posited the following thesis: there is a relationship between energy poverty and economic situation of households and health of its members in the region. The analysis will be based on: a study of household budgets, social diagnosis and available reports on energy poverty, and supplemented by an interpretation of an original survey conducted in the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship (conducted in mid-2021 for the previous two years). Main Findings: Effectively combating energy poverty in the country and in a specific area (including the voivodeship) requires adequate recognition of the situation and identification of the people or households affected. The multifaceted nature of the phenomenon does not make it easy to choose which of the known indicators should be analyzed first. Moreover, its consequences vary as well. More details you will see at the conclusion. Applications of the study: The article presents the phenomenon of energy poverty accompanying both social and economic life (the phenomenon of poverty should be considered multidimensionally). The social and health costs of energy poverty were emphasized. The content of the article can be useful for a wide group of recipients interested in the subject under research. Besides, this research is expected to be applied in Jan Kochanowski University during practical meetings with students. Novelty/Originality of the study: The COVID-19 pandemic is having a noticeable impact on society and its members, individual markets, and the economy as a whole. Undeniably we have found ourselves in a difficult situation where numerous concepts are beginning to take on a deeper meaning. This includes energy poverty. In addition, there is no comprehensive research on the topic described in the title (for the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship) and the article tries to fill this gap. The article can inspire further research and inquiry in the field of it.

Purpose of the study: The study compared selected non-alcoholic beverages with plant additives developed by various researchers and determined the innovative potential of these beverages. Methodology: The beverages described in 22 scientific articles in both English and Polish were analyzed. Scientific articles were searched using the Google search engine, Google Schoolar , a multi- search engine based on the e-resources of the University Library, and the official websites of selected journals. The phrases 'herbal beverages' 'novel plant beverages' and related in English and Polish were used in the search. Main findings: The paper showed that the addition of plant material to the drink can determine the innovative character by changing the physicochemical characteristics, changing the organoleptic characteristics, storage ability, but most of all giving it a health-promoting and functional character. Application of this study: It has been shown that scientific articles, as an external source of knowledge, may provide some inspiration to create an innovative drink, however, in most cases, the desire to introduce such a product to the market will require more research on the use of a specific plant raw material. Originality of this study: New innovative beverages with plant additives are described in many scientific articles, but there are no papers that would constitute a collective discussion about their innovativeness.
