With the continuously strengthening of the forestry harvesting machine, the working conditions of the connecting rod mechanism became more complex. In operation, the connecting rod is subjected to both gas pressure and inertia loads, and therefore, it must be adequately strong and rigid and light in weight as well. In order to improve the sufficient fatigue strength, stiffness, well static and dynamic mechanical properties under a variety of alternating load condition, it became a key question that how to even more base design decisions on virtual prototypes and to optimize the whole mechanism development process. In the paper, firstly, we propose a physical model of connecting rod mechanism. Secondly finite element analysis and simulation of the model is taken. Then its flexible multi-body dynamic model is established by ADAMS/View. The method provides the theoretical evidence for connecting rod structure improvement and optimum design.

For power generation form wind induction generators are found to be the most appropriate choice. A statistical review was done to collect the data on various power quality issues like voltage variations, frequency variations, harmonics distortion, transients, flicker etc arising with the increased use of induction generators in the power system.

In order to solve the problem of sensors placement in gearbox faults detection, a method of measurement point optimization based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is discribed. The fitness of PSO is set up based on analysis on the modal assurance criterion(MAC) for measurement point optimization. After setting up finite element model and proceeding modal analysis of gearbox, particle swarm optimization with dynamic accelerating constants (CPSO) is applied to optimize and dertermin the numbers and locations of sensors for gearbox. In optimal process the fitness function is taken as evaluation object. The method discribed in this paper is proved to be feasible by an example of gearbox fault diagnosis. The fault identified accuracy after measurement point optimization is improved.

This paper presents a new and novel method to control a 3-RRR (revolute-revolute-revolute) planar parallel manipulator using an active force control (AFC) strategy. A traditional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller was first designed and developed to demonstrate the basic and stable response of the manipulator in performing trajectory tracking tasks. Later, the AFC section was incorporated into the control scheme in cascade form by adding it in series with the PID controller (PID+AFC), its primary aim of which is to improve the overall system dynamic performance particularly when the manipulator is subjected to different loading conditions. Results clearly illustrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed AFC-based scheme in rejecting the disturbances compared to the traditional PID controller.

Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) usually has 3 hall position sensors, and they play a key role for motor control. In order to determine hall locations relative to the stator windings, the permanent magnet motor rotor flux-oriented method has been analyzed and it provides a theoretical basis for us. Thus, the exact locations of sensors can be found. Through the decode logic of 3 hall signals, 6 drive signals for the three-phase full-bridge can be got. In this paper, the experiments are achieved, and the motor ran stability. The current waveform is recorded and analyzed, and it shows the locations of hall sensors and the decode logic are correct.

Given the rising prices of energy, the prospect of exhausting the hydrocarbon reserves and the harsh restrictions imposed in order to protect the environment, the problem of saving energy resources thus constitutes a major concern for mankind. According to these issues our team has designed and developed a system who generate a magnetic field used for treatment of some fuel fluids, aiming to raise the combustion efficiency and decreasing the amount of pollutants removed after combustion in large power plants.

This paper presents a comparison between different two equation turbulence models, in order to find appropriate turbulence model for studying the effect of cold outlet diameter on cooling performance of vortex tube. The standard k-ε, RNG k-ε, Realizable k-ε and standard k-ω model, have been used in this study. Comparison between numerical and experimental results indicates that standard k-ε model predicts energy separation phenomenon better than others. Distribution of static temperature, total temperature, static pressure, components of velocity and angular velocity have been obtained in order to understand the flow behavior inside the tube. Moreover, standard k-ε model has been used for studying the effect of cold outlet diameter on cooling performance of vortex tube.

Laminar natural convection in a two-dimensional inclined square enclosure has been numerically studied using finite volume method. The research deals with the investigation of the effect of Prandtl number and inclination angle on the stream contours and isotherms in this enclosure where the left side wall is maintained at isothermal hot temperature, while the opposite side wall is maintained at isothermal cold temperature. The other top and bottom walls are considered thermally insulated. The enclosure in the present work is based on the geometry of Tofiqul Islam et al. [9], (2007) which is considered inclined with inclination angles ranging from 0° to 30° and filled with water as a working fluid where its Prandtl number is taken as 6. All the numerical calculations are performed at the external Rayleigh numbers 103 and 106 while the internal Rayleigh numbers ranging from 105 to 108. The results are presented as a streamline and isotherm plots as well as the variation of the average Nusselt numbers at the hot wall are also presented. The results show a good confidence with other published results.

Software Reusability is primary attribute of software quality. In the literature, there are metrics for identifying the quality of reusable components but there is very less work on the framework that makes use of these metrics to find reusability of software components. The quality of the software if identified in the design phase or even in the coding phase can help us to reduce the rework by improving quality of reuse of the component and hence improve the productivity due to probabilistic increase in the reuse level. In this paper, different models or measures that are discussed in literature for software reusability prediction or evaluation of software components are summarized.

The effect of injector opening pressure and injection timing on cyclic variations in combustion parameters of a CI engine fuelled with methyl esters of jatropha oil blended with petroleum diesel for 20% volume ratio(B20) at full load, are reported in this paper. The experiments were carried out at three injection timings of 20°bTDC, 23°bTDC, 26°bTDC and four IOP's of 180, 200, 220 & 240 bar. It was observed that advancing the injection timing and increasing the IOP up to 220 bar resulted in lower cyclic variations in peak pressure and IMEP, but at the cost of higher rate of pressure rise.
