: This research paper presents the study and analysis of the remains of the cartonnage excavated in the Atfih area. It investigates the location , makes comparisons with several cartonnages , determines the source and date, and defines the era of the cartonnage. The cart - onnage clearly demonstrated that Egyptian funerary art survived after the fall of the Egyptian monarchy. The Egyptian religion and deities were disseminated in Greek society in Egypt. Additionally, the forms of Egyptian deities were commonly merged, so a scarab appeared on the head of the falcon Hor . The entire excavation site was dated by comparing the cartonnage understudy with others with the same drawings. Additionally, comparing the cartonnage understudy with many other pieces from different parts of Egypt revealed that the cartonnage was dated to the mid-third century BC. This date conforms with the excavated lamps and amphorae in the same area. They were all dated to the mid-third century BC.

: Due to its excellent adherence to the metal substrate, Hexamethy-ledisiloxan was employed in the present study to create transparent barrier coating films that protect metal artifacts from corrosion. The deposition procedure used radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (RF-PECVD). Using scanning electron microscopy combined with energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), the surfaces of the deposited films were identified and characterized. Atomic force microscopy was used to examine surface topography and roughness (AFM). Water contact angle measurement was used to determine the hydrophobic property (WCA). Moreover, a spectroscopic ellipsometer was used to measure the film's thickness (SE). Following the Siloxane protective layer's PECVD deposition, colo ri - metric measurement (CM) was utilized to assess surface appearance alterations. Electr-ochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to study how siloxane coatings for metal substrates protect against corrosion as a function of RF power and gas input composition. It was found that the siloxane thin film's adhesion characteristics to the silver-copper alloy substrate were affected by the substrate pretreatment process and the consumed power during the deposition process.

: Military architecture in the Islamic west is evidence to the inge-nuity of design, planning and the link between form and function in Islamic architecture in general and in the West in particular. These buildings were not rigid fortresses, castles and gates. Rather, the Muslim inscriber placed on it floral and geometric dec-orations and the inscriptions in particular, that draw the atention of who pass by or enter it, with its religious and Foundation texts that represented a reflection of the political life in these eras. Therefore, this study focuses on the inscriptions on the gates of the cities and Kasabahs of Morocco in Almohad and Alawite Eras in terms of the visual aspect of these inscriptions in form and content, where the visual study is one of the most important modern studies in the field of archeology, whether from an arc-hitectural or even a technical point of view.

: Yakan House is one of the historical houses in Cairo, dating back to the beginning of the nineteenth century. The house was neglected until its elements deteriorated until it was owned by a person interested in heritage who pledged to preserve it to become a cultural center to revive traditional crafts after architectural restoration. During the architectural restoration, blurred and unclear wall paintings dating back to the era of construction were discovered , and they were covered with a thick layer of mortar. Therefore, the research aims to study the discovered wall paintings and remove the plaster layer that covers them by modern mechanical, chemical and scientific detection methods. It was photographed using infrared (FTIR) and ultraviolet rays, and was examined using light microscopy and examination and analysis electron microscopy (SEM-EDAX).It has been identified that the preparation layer consists of calcite (CaCO 3 ), quartz (SiO 2 ) and gypsum (CaSO 4 .2H 2 O), and that the dark blue color is composed of lapis lazuli, and that the purple color is a result of mixing blue and red together, and that the brown color is a mixture of red with the black. As for the dark yellow color, it consists of iron oxide (goethite). And through the analysis (FTIR) it was found that the adhesive used to bind the coloring material is gum arabic. Then the mural was treated, and this included removing the thick mortar layer with mechanical and chemical cleaning, replacing the damaged layers of preparation, and strengthening and fixing the discovered drawings .

ANIMAL NECKBAND ORNAMENTS IN THE OLD KINGDOM SCENES 动物项圈饰品在古代王国的场景
IF 0.2 Pub Date : 2023-06-01 DOI: 10.21608/ejars.2023.305190
El-Aboudy, O.
: This paper studies the animal neckband ornaments during the old kingdom through tomb scenes. The goal is to determine their types , define the cattle species wearing these neckbands and finally determine the occasion during which they were worn. The available evidence suggests that cattle neckbands were widely used throughout the old kingdom, there are five distinct types found in tomb scenes of officials during this period. The majority of animal neckbands were most likely worn for aesthetic purposes, rather than for any religious purpose. All animal neckbands are comprised of a collar, then another main part which hangs down and is differentiated between the five types. The author investigates the expansion of these types in many tombs of Giza, Saqqara, Mier, El Hawawish and Qubbet el Hawa. The main goal is to examine this phenomenon in the daily life context without dealing with religious context. The analytical study has suggested that neckband ornaments may be used to indicate the high value of the animal possessed, and it might be a remarkable sign of a good offering to the owner.

: Plasma technology is a modern, non-conventional technique with a wide range of applications in various fields. Plasma-based material processing technology aims to modify the chemical and physical properties of metallic, polymer, textile, and dielectric surfaces. Plasma processing techniques include plasma etching, cleaning, plasma surface activation and functionalization, and plasma deposition. Plasma processing has attracted the attention of cultural heritage restoration due to its low temperature, selectivity, durability, and effectiveness. The goal of this work is to introduce readers to previous studies on the different uses of plasma-based technology in the conservation and restoration of metallic cultural and historical artifacts. It focuses on the role of the different plasma-based coating techniques especially plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) for archaeological and artistic metallic artifacts that need reversible coatings with a pleasing aesthetic appearance and a good barrier effect against atmospheric pollution at low temperatures .
