To Add or Not to Add: Privacy and Social Honeypots 添加或不添加:隐私和社交蜜罐

Online Social Networks (OSNs) have become a mainstream cultural phenomenon in the past years, where million of people connect to each other and share memories, digital media and business relations. Many users also publish personal information about their activities, relationships, locations and interests on these sites, seemingly unaware of how these data can be used by other parties. Sites typically attempt to restrict data-sharing to members of a user''s social network, but this is only effective if these social networks cannot be exploited by malicious users. In this paper we perform an experiment in order to assess the vulnerability and privacy awareness of users when engaging in online relations with random unknown users, or those pretending to be a famous character. We find that usually users do not accept random friendship requests, but some aggressively search for celebrities, making a perfect case for spammers to form honeypots using such fake profiles. We present a set of suggestions for enhancing privacy on social networks which could reduce the threats of identity theft in such environments.

A Hybrid Spatial Reuse MAC Protocol for Ad-Hoc Underwater Acoustic Communication Networks 一种用于自组织水声通信网络的混合空间复用MAC协议

The most widely used medium access control (MAC) scheme for underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) networks is conventional time-division multiple access (TDMA), in which only a single node transmits at each time. Since this TDMA is the bottleneck in high traffic networks, in this paper we present a new MAC protocol for UWAC ad-hoc networks that applies spatial reuse to improve network throughput. More specifically, in the proposed protocol selected additional nodes can transmit simultaneously to the active TDMA node, thus improving the efficiency of the MAC protocol. By tracking the time-varying network topology, our protocol adaptively optimizes the set of active nodes and overcomes problems of UWAC networks such as the near-far problem, flickering, and formation of islands. We report performance results for both the conventional TDMA protocol and the proposed protocol from a sea trial at the Haifa harbor. The results show that the new protocol greatly increases the availability of nodes to transmit messages, which leads to an improved overall network throughput in high traffic networks.

A Change-Point Detection Approach to Power Quality Monitoring in Smart Grids 智能电网电能质量监测的变点检测方法

In this work, we apply a change-point detection approach to power quality (PQ) monitoring in smart grids. Capitalizing on change-point detection theory with unknown parameters, a sequential cumulative sum (CUSUM)-based scheme is developed with an objective to provide quick and accurate detection of PQ event occurrence in real time. The proposed CUSUM-based scheme evaluates the weighted likelihood ratios by exploiting both the instantaneous and the long-term information of the power waveform. It is shown by computer simulations that the proposed CUSUM-based scheme can achieve a significant performance gain over conventional detection schemes.

Trust with Social Network Learning in E-Commerce 信任与电子商务中的社交网络学习

Trust among Internet users and thus social networks plays an important role in e-commerce and other Internet applications. However, the precise mathematical model of trust and thus applications based on trust in e-commerce system has not been satisfactorily established yet. In this paper, we present a probability theoretic framework to quantitatively measure trust as mathematical reasoning and to model the behaviors of consumers and sellers in the e-commerce system based on trust measure. We first summarize properties of trust in Internet users and their social networking. Then we construct the topology of e-commerce system and apply the statistical inference to derive more reliable trust measure. A reliable algorithm, which is robust to malicious behaviors of the sellers, is therefore developed. Via social network learning, distributed decision is proposed to maintain the accuracy of trust estimation and to better against potential malicious behaviors. Simulations demonstrate that our proposed scheme shows good accuracy in estimation of confidence level and retains robust performance facing a number of malicious users in the e-commerce system.

A Cyclostationary-Based Spectrum Sensing Method Using Stochastic Resonance in Cognitive Radio 一种基于循环平稳的认知无线电随机共振频谱感知方法

A spectrum sensing approach based on the combination of cyclostationary feature detection (CFD) and stochastic resonance (SR) in cognitive radio (CR) is proposed in this paper. The SR technique can be used in the spectrum sensing based on CFD because the CFD method does not need to consider the distribution of the signals received by the secondary users. An improvement of the spectrum sensing performances can be conducted by the proposed method for its satisfaction of the Improvability of Detection via SR Theorem. Numerical results show that the proposed spectrum sensing scheme has better sensing performances than the conventional CFD method.

WLAN Data Rates Achievable from Roads in Low and High Mobility Environments 低移动和高移动环境下道路可实现的WLAN数据速率

Research on using WLAN from vehicles has been ongoing for quite a while now. Exploiting already available WLAN APs from fast moving vehicles is a challenging and interesting area of research. In this paper, we measure the data rates achievable in a typical drive thru set up. One reason of preferring WLANs over Cellular systems for getting broadband connectivity is that the former promise much higher data rates. This claim, however, is based on WLANs indoor performance. In this paper, we investigate whether sufficiently high data rates are available even when WLANs are used in rapidly changing high and low mobility environments from vehicles on roads. Experiments are conducted for three different NICs to see if the achievable data rates vary with interface cards. Conclusions reached in this work are based on actual experimentation and the obtained results reflect the actual performance of WLANs in vehicular scenarios. Obtained results are verified with statistical tests.

Performance Evaluation of Cognitive Radio CDMA Networks with Spectrum Sensing 基于频谱感知的认知无线CDMA网络性能评价

In this paper, the performance of Cognitive Radio (CR) CDMA networks is analyzed. More precisely, we develop a simulation testbed for analyzing the performance of a CR user with and without spectrum sensing in a three cell scenario. Three different schemes for spectrum sensing are studied. CR users belong to a Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) which is coexisting with a Primary Radio Network (PRN). Both CRN and PRN are CDMA-based. Soft Handoff (HO) and power control are considered for both CRN and PRN. We evaluate the performance of the proposed systems in terms of outage probability, blocking probability, and average data rate of secondary users (SUs). For comparison purposes, together with the three considered schemes with spectrum sensing we also analyze a scheme without spectrum sensing.

Adaptive Cooperative Algorithms for AUV Networks AUV网络的自适应协同算法

This paper presents two novel cooperative adaptive algorithms for the management of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) as mobile nodes of an ad- hoc underwater network. The proposed approaches are distributed and take explicitly into account the communication constraints among the agents. The overall mission goal for the AUV team is to defend an asset using detection sonars while maintaining the communication connectivity for the whole mission duration, even when environmental changes affect the vehicle devices.

Capacity Evaluation of Measured Vehicle-to-Vehicle Radio Channels at 5.2 GHz 5.2 GHz实测车对车无线电信道容量评估

Reliability in Ricean multiple-input-multipleoutput (MIMO) channels is crucial for safety-related vehicle-tovehicle(V2V) applications. In Ricean channels, there is a signal-to-noise ratio-dependent critical data rate below which signaling with zero outage is possible. The link will be more reliable the higher this critical data rate is. We present results of spectral efficiency and outage probability from channel sounder measurements of V2V MIMO radio channels in the 5.2 GHz band. Our results show that MIMO channels with higher spatial correlation lead to lower ergodic capacity and a reduced critical data rate. However, for fixed output power the temporal evolution of the ergodic capacity and critical data rate shows that the channel with the strongest line of sight (LoS)component also has the highest capacity.

D-MAC: Hybrid Media Access Control for Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks D-MAC:水声传感器网络的混合媒体访问控制

Physical properties of hydroacoustic communication channels differ essentially from those of conventional terrestrial radio channels, the former being characterized by the long propagation delays, limited bandwidth, extremely complex and quickly varying reverberation, and the half-duplex nature of underwater acoustic modems. This motivates a substantial redesign of the algorithms and techniques of the underwater data transfer concerning both physical and data link layers, especially concerning the development of underwater acoustic sensor networks. The recent studies of underwater acoustic sensor networks have caused the appearance of a variety of data link and network layers protocols intended to solve particular tasks for various types of networks. In this paper, we present a new media channel access protocol architecture combining two media access algorithms for the transfer of different data types, notably burst data and short instant messages, in order to provide the network layer with additional capabilities to solve problems in a wider range.
