Design, Simulation & Concept Verification of 4 × 4, 8 × 8 MIMO With ZF, MMSE and BF Detection Schemes ZF、MMSE和BF检测方案的4×4、8×8 MIMO的设计、仿真和概念验证

Abstract A conventional MIMO system is designed consisting of 4 antenna elements at both the receiver and transmitter ends. Different kinds of signal detection techniques, namely, zero forcing (ZF), minimum mean square error (MMSE) and beamforming (BF), are used at the receiver end for signal detection. The performance of the system is analyzed by calculating BER vs SNR for each of the above techniques separately. The present work has been thoroughly analyzed and implemented using MATLAB. On the basis of the results obtained, it is summarized that as the values of SNR increase, BER decreases for ZF and MMSE and it almost vanishes to zero even for low SNR values if BF is used. Although ZF and MMSE are suitable for designing a conventional MIMO system with 4 antenna elements, it becomes too difficult for a large number of antenna elements due to its complexity of calculating the inverse of a (N × N) matrix. Based on the results analyzed so far, it is concluded that beamforming (BF) is a suitable technique for designing a system that has a large number of antenna elements at the base station. A further improved system with enhanced performance regarding lower BER for even smaller values of SNR is designed in the present study, consisting of 8 antennas at the base station. The results obtained are enthusiasm-provoking and encouraging for further studies to develop a concept for next-generation wireless communication systems with an optimum design.

Abstract The problem of classifying diversely distorted objects is considered. The classifier is a 2-layer perceptron capable of classifying greater amounts of objects in a unit of time. This is an advantage of the 2-layer perceptron over more complex neural networks like the neocognitron, the convolutional neural network, and the deep learning neural networks. Distortion types are scaling, turning, and shifting. The object model is a monochrome 60 × 80 image of the enlarged English alphabet capital letter. Consequently, there are 26 classes of 4800-featured objects. Training sets have a parameter, which is the ratio of the pixel-to-scale-turn-shift standard deviations, which allows controlling normally distributed feature distortion. An optimal ratio is found, at which the performance of the 2-layer perceptron is still unsatisfactory. Then, the best classifier is further trained with additional 438 passes of training sets by increasing the training smoothness tenfold. This aids in decreasing the ultimate classification error percentage from 35.23 % down to 12.92 %. However, the expected practicable distortions are smaller, so the percentage corresponding to them becomes just 1.64 %, which means that only one object out of 61 is misclassified. Such a solution scheme is directly applied to other classification problems, where the number of features is a thousand or a few thousands by a few tens of classes.

Abstract The choice of the spreading sequence for asynchronous direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems plays a crucial role for the mitigation of multiple-access interference. Considering the rich dynamics of chaotic sequences, their use for spreading allows overcoming the limitations of the classical spreading sequences. However, to ensure low cross-correlation between the sequences, careful selection must be performed. This paper presents a novel exhaustive search algorithm, which allows finding sets of chaotic spreading sequences of required length with a particularly low mutual cross-correlation. The efficiency of the search is verified by simulations, which show a significant advantage compared to non-selected chaotic sequences. Moreover, the impact of sequence length on the efficiency of the selection is studied.

A Robust Identification of the Protein Standard Bands in Two-Dimensional Electrophoresis Gel Images 二维电泳凝胶图像中蛋白质标准带的鲁棒性识别

Abstract The aim of the investigation presented in this paper was to develop a software-based assistant for the protein analysis workflow. The prior characterization of the unknown protein in two-dimensional electrophoresis gel images is performed according to the molecular weight and isoelectric point of each protein spot estimated from the gel image before further sequence analysis by mass spectrometry. The paper presents a method for automatic and robust identification of the protein standard band in a two-dimensional gel image. In addition, the method introduces the identification of the positions of the markers, prepared by using pre-selected proteins with known molecular mass. The robustness of the method was achieved by using special validation rules in the proposed original algorithms. In addition, a self-organizing map-based decision support algorithm is proposed, which takes Gabor coefficients as image features and searches for the differences in preselected vertical image bars. The experimental investigation proved the good performance of the new algorithms included into the proposed method. The detection of the protein standard markers works without modification of algorithm parameters on two-dimensional gel images obtained by using different staining and destaining procedures, which results in different average levels of intensity in the images.

Novel PID Tracking Controller for 2DOF Robotic Manipulator System Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm 基于人工蜂群算法的二自由度机器人PID跟踪控制器

Abstract This study presents a well-developed optimization methodology based on the dynamic inertia weight Artificial Bee Colony algorithm (ABC) to design an optimal PID controller for a robotic arm manipulator. The dynamical analysis of robotic arm manipulators investigates a coupling relation between the joint torques applied by the actuators and the position and acceleration of the robot arm. An optimal PID control law is obtained from the proposed (ABC) algorithm and applied to the robotic system. The designed controller optimizes the trajectory of the robot’s end effector for a time-variant input and makes the robot robust in the presence of external disturbance.

Abstract Microgrids in island mode with high penetration of renewable energy sources in combination with gensets and battery storage systems need a control system for voltage and frequency. In this study the main goal is maximization of the energy feed-in by renewable sources. Therefore it is necessary to keep the State of Energy for the Battery Storage System in a range that the excess energy can be absorbed and used in a later period of the day. In this paper an approach for State of Charge scheduling based on load and generation prediction is described.

Abstract The study is devoted to the important issue of enhancing the circuitry and characteristics of power supplies for micro resistance welding machines. The aim of the research is to provide high quality input current and to increase the energy efficiency of the output pulse generator by means of improving the circuit topologies of the power supply main blocks. In study, the principle of constructing the power supply for micro resistance welding, which provides high values of output welding current and high accuracy of welding pulse formation, makes it possible to reduce energy losses, and provides high quality of consumed input current, is represented. The multiphase topology of the charger with power factor correction based on SEPIC converters is suggested as the most efficient for charging the supercapacitor storage module. The multicell topology of the supercapacitor energy storage with voltage equalizing is presented. The parameters of the converter cells are evaluated. The calculations of energy efficiency of the power supply’s input and output converters based on suggested topologies are carried out and verified in MATLAB Simulink. The power factor value greater than 99 % is derived.

The aim of the research is to provide high quality input current and to increase the energy efficiency of the output pulse generator by means of improving the circuit topologies of the power supply main blocks. In study, the principle of constructing the power supply for micro resistance welding, which provides high values of output welding current and high accuracy of welding pulse formation, makes it possible to reduce energy losses, and provides high quality of consumed input current, is represented. The multiphase topology of the charger with power factor correction based on SEPIC converters is suggested as the most efficient for charging the supercapacitor storage module. The multicell topology of the supercapacitor energy storage with voltage equalizing is presented. The parameters of the converter cells are evaluated. The calculations of energy efficiency of the power supply’s input and output converters based on suggested topologies are carried out and verified in MATLAB Simulink. Organization and Implementation of Online Cytology Quality Assurance Program – Georgian Experience 组织和实施在线细胞学质量保证计划-格鲁吉亚的经验

Abstract Medical information system (MIS) is at the heart of information technology (IT) implementation policies in healthcare systems around the world. Different architecture and application models of MIS are developed. Despite of obvious advantages and benefits, application of MIS in everyday practice is slow. On the background of analysis of the existing models of MIS in Georgia has been created a multi-user web-based approach. This article will present the architecture of the system and its application for cytology quality assurance programs. Five hundred Georgian language electronic medical records from the cervical screening activity illustrated by images were selected for quality assurance program. The primary goal of the MIS is patient management. However, the system can be used for quality assurance programs. The ideal of healthcare in the information age must be to create a situation where healthcare professionals spend more time creating knowledge from medical information and less time managing medical information. The application of easily available and adaptable technology and improvement of the infrastructure conditions is the basis for eHealth applications. The MIS is perspective and actual technology solution. It can be used for cytology quality assurance programs.

An Experimental Study of Ground-Based Equipment Real Time Data Transfer Possibility by Using Cellular Networks 利用蜂窝网络实现地面设备实时数据传输可能性的实验研究

Abstract An expanding mobile cellular network data transfer service offers cheaper wireless solutions for various data transfer needs. This paper presents an experimental testing of data transfer performance in 3G and 4G modes. The purpose of testing was to check the possibility of real-time and critical data transfer over the mobile cellular networks. The testing was performed in Riga in July and August 2016 using the most popular mobile service operators in Latvia: Tele2-LV, BITE-LV and LMT. The testing confirmed that the overload of Riga’s 4G networks causes serious service deterioration or even interruption. Riga’s 3G networks are more stable. However, 3G network service quality depends on a cell load. Lightly loaded 3G network meets real-time data transfer requirements of 100 ms one-way delay of the small packet traffic.

Electronic Phase Shifting in Multipulse Rectifier 多脉冲整流器中的电子移相

Abstract This paper presents a novel converter which can reduce the harmonics like the conventional multipulse converters with input three phase transformer. To reduce total harmonic distortion of input current and improve the weight and size of converters, it is suggested to use multi-pulse rectifiers with an electronic phase shift. The basic module is a 6-pulse rectifier on fully controlled switches with the reverse blocking ability. Switching frequency either coincides or is twice the power frequency. The proposed solutions allow refusing from the electromagnetic phase-shifting devices (power transformers or auto-transformers) and thereby significantly reduce the weight of the device. Unlike power factor correction systems with high-frequency modulation, the proposed converters are significantly different, as they have better electromagnetic compatibility and the virtual absence of dynamic switching losses of power switches.
