The article focuses on application capabilities of the semantic differential experimental technique aimed at identification of the emotive component of the Internet blog texts impact on the recipients who belong to varied linguistic cultures. The confirmed hypothesis reveals the strongest impact on recipients of the blog texts in cases when the employed value categories coincide with their cultural reference. It means that the impact is nationally marked. The experiments, carried out at the initial stage of the long-time period extended research into Russian values system transformation, resulted in establishing the selected blog texts impact strength for the Russian and American groups of recipients. The natively stipulated character of the blog content impact was noted, since the articles offered for reading by each group of the experiment participants contained the material relevant to a particular linguistic culture and values. Their presence directed the respondents' perception and determined the quality of the response emotions and types of response. The phased presentation of the text of the article, positive and negative comments made it possible to establish the dependence of the reception process on the impact vector laid down by each object. This vector was proved to direct the transformation of the perception of the recipients. The article text reception accompanied by graphic objects and further comments reading as a combination of heterogeneous sign systems (text, photo) that complement each other and contributed to a better information assimilation by the recipients in the direction in which the Internet diary author wanted it.

The manifestation, meaning, categorization of emotions, as well as the factors that cause them, have cultural characteristics. To build successful intercultural interaction it is necessary to be aware of them. This study explores classroom discourse and emotions of international students in a multicultural classroom. Our goal is to determine what emotions the discourse of Russian teachers evokes in students from different lingua-cultures and which speech acts have an emotional perlocutionary effect. The material was obtained through a questionnaire with the participation of 70 international students (45 Chinese and 25 Algerian). We focus on emotions and emotional states of surprise, happiness, sadness and offense. Being drawn on qualitative and quantitative methods the comparative analysis showed that the behavior of Russian teachers is more likely to surprise Chinese students than Arab ones, besides Chinese students experience negative emotions and states more often than Arabs which may indicate a greater cultural distance. In relation to speech acts that evoke the emotions, we identified some similarities and differences, which are discussed through the type of culture and cultural values. The results contribute to the study of culture specific features of emotions in communication. They specify the factors that evoke emotions in students belonging to different lingua-cultures, and can contribute to the successful interaction of Russian teachers with international students in a multicultural classroom.

The aim of the article is to give an in-depth insight into alterity as a communication category in the cognitive and discursive aspects. Being an indispensable part of communication and cognition, the category has its own meaning presenting the communicative interaction within the frame "I – the Other". The category of alterity has its own set of category properties, which are specified uniquely in different languages. Alterity as a linguistic category may express an outlook on the reality (similar, i.e. familiar, devoid of risk: other, different, vague, evidently evoking fear or curiosity). In the Russian language, it is linked to the emotional clusters of curiosity, fear, suspense, whereas in the English language it is associated with curiosity, admiration, surprise and novice. Alterity is characterized similarly in English and Russian through maintaining such features as dissimilarity, variety, multifariousness, belonging to different classes/groups, distinct opposition. As well as common features, alterity manifests culturally specific meanings in English (being eccentric, revolutionary, new, fresh) and Russian (being funny and incongruous). The article includes a description of the linguistic means and communicative strategies and tactics, with the help of which the category of alterity is realized in fiction. The category content is variable in the discourse and it serves ground for the ecological and non-ecological mode of communication.

The article reviews the aspects of research into the text emotional dominant by linguistic methods, which allow to limit variability of the meaning interpretation. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the lack of competent studies on the methods of emotional dominant disclosure in the text content. Despite certain scientific and practical significance, modern text linguistics and linguistics of emotions demonstrate relative unevenness in the procedures of analysis development, which are, however, likely to clarify a number of theoretical problems: to make distinction between the concepts of psychological and textual dominants, subjective comprehension of the text and its objective contents; to extract the emotional constituent from the generalized content dominant in the text; to state correlation between a set of emotive signs and communicative aims of the author by means of multidimensional and multistaged analysis. In the article the emotional texts are studied by means of linguistic methods of semantic and contextual analysis, emotive analysis of language and text units and modificational procedure of keywords determination with the aim to identify the emotional dominant and define its characteristics proceeding from the signs unity to the generalized emotional content of the text, then to the conceptual dominants and communicative goals of the text composer. The analysis led to revelation of the following emotional characteristics in the text content: emotive complexes, emotional attractors, false dominant, random stimulus, false determination of emotion. The identified parameters and approaches to the analysis should foster studies on the linguistic aspect of the emotional text dominant, as well as refine practical methods for its accurate determination in modern textual contents.

Considering a number of postulates of Russian Psycholinguistics, the author presents the psycholinguistic foundations for understanding emotions in the subject's verbal and cogitative activity and proposes to reconstruct the process of understanding emotions with an analysis of the nature of predication in speech actions. The content of the text arises in the speech-cogitative activity of the subject, who has certain structures of consciousness and changes them in the process of this activity. Emotions essentially determine the meaning generation and perform a regulatory function in the text understanding: a) the motivational sphere of speech activity includes emotions as a subjective form of existence of a motive and largely determines the nature of speech action; b) based on the speech action carried out in signs, the recipient extracts from it a personal meaning, including an emotional one; c) the emotional component of the motive can gradually shift the connotations of meanings and change the associative links of the individual; d) the main purpose of the emotional component of the motive is to highlight the semantic dominant of the text. Speech action actualizes the consciousness of the individual in speech operations, which are regarded as the procedures of handling the signs that stabilize the structures of the author's consciousness, since the subject is socially forced to exist in systems of heterogeneous signs. In the speech action, the unity of the activity of the individual, as well as its conditions, goals and means, is manifested.

The article examines the structure of the participle clause, in which the participle precedes the subject, with the actant or subordinate clause related to the participle placed in postposition. The study aims to reveal grammatical indicators of the participle predicativity, to determine the dynamics of the use of the clause under consideration, its stylistic peculiarities and the reasons for its loss in the Russian language. The application of comparative-historical and comparative-typological methods has enabled the author to prove the higher degree of predicative power of prepositive participles in comparison with the postpositive ones. The grammatical indicators of the participle predicativity have been established. They are expressed in word order, agreement of the participle and the subject in meaning, separation of the participial clause from the verbal part of the sentence with a dot or their connection by means of coordinating conjunction. The participial clause structural diversity has been studied and the development of absolute participle clauses on its basis has been revealed. The dynamics of its use in different periods of the history of the Russian language has been investigated. The frequency of its use has been ascertained in the written records of various genres dating back to the 11 th – 17 th centuries. The analysis of the texts originating from the 18th century has shown the dynamics of participial clause use in different periods of the history of the Russian language, which indicates the reference of such participial constructions to the bookish style.

The article focuses on aorist forms and root aorist distribution in the Old East Slavonic Parimejnik corpus, an Old Testament lectionary, being one of the most important liturgical texts in Byzantine and Slavonic rites, it provided the Old Testament knowledge. The root aorist is a diagnostic type of archaic forms that indicates the reference of the text with Cyril-and-Methodius tradition to the emergence of Slavonic written culture. The analysis is carried out for the first time and is based on the corpus approach. It became possible due to the online edition of five Old East Slavonic copies of Parimejnik: Lazarevskiy from ca. 1150–1170, Zakharinskiy from 1271, Kozminskiy from 1312–1313, Troitskiy I from the 14 th century, and Fedorovskiy II, from the 13 th century. The author discovered 18 entries of root aorists in Zakhariinskiy Parimejnik. This is the largest number of entries in the late Old East Slavonic written sources altogether. 10 entries were found at Lazarevskiy Parimejnik. The root aorist is represented in the rest of the copies in sporadic forms. The distribution of forms in the copies corresponds precisely to the four distinguished editorial types: the most ancient, Zakharinskiy, Kozminskiy, and Semenovskiy. The samples of editing root aorist forms were revealed to occur due to their confusion with homonymous forms of "zero" presence and participles.

The article focuses on the study of the language of the Maritime Charter of 1720 that was one of the key legislative acts, which enabled the development and consolidation of the new methods of combining heterogeneous linguistic means. The applied methods aimed at implementation of certain communicative tasks. The correlation between the variety of language means and techniques with argumentativeness, imperativeness and impact of the text has been proved. The research touches upon the issues of special vocabulary and the ways of including it in the language of the Charter. The proposed methods of interpreting new terms range from synonymous substitutions to encyclopedic definitions. The tendency to functional differentiation of the means of expressing imperativeness and the modality of duty in particular has been revealed. Western European legal documentation tradition is noted to have influenced the formation of the wide range of modal means. However, the Russian legislators tried to take into account the pragmatic needs of official business communication and the semantic and stylistic potential of competing lexical modifiers of modality. The research has resulted in the discovery of the peculiarity, which acquired the linguistic explication in the text of the Charter. Namely, it is the conceptually important attitude of legislators not only to the external side of performing the duties and enforcing the order, but also its internal motivation based on the moral foundation.

The study was carried out with the focus on the current issues of sociolinguistics related to the search for ways to preserve the languages of small peoples. The article systematizes data on the state of the languages of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation living in the North, Siberia and the Far East, presented in modern publications of historians and linguists, and the documents that reflect the results of the 2010 population census of the Russian Federation, considers the influence of sociolinguistic factors on the language situation in these territories. Having analyzed the world experience of legal language legislation on preserving the cultures and languages of small peoples, the authors attempted to apply some global criteria to the Russian legislation and socio-economic practice and identified socially significant criteria for establishing the language situation in relation to the languages of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation living in the North, Siberia and the Far East: the total number of speakers of the language, the use of the language in the education system, the availability of educational and methodological materials for teaching, the factor of inter-generational transmission of a language, the attitudes to the functional benefits from practicing the language among its native speakers. By compiling a methodology for categorizing the language survival type five prototypes of the language state were identified on the basis of statistical data: safe; relatively safe; endangered; critically endangered; close to extinction or dead languages. The authors offered a set of extralinguistic criteria for obtaining objective data on the state of the language and made a supposition that despite the evidence that the languages of the indigenous small-numbered northern peoples of the Russian Federation, with rare exceptions, are on the verge of extinction, significant efforts are being made by the government of the country and the indigenous northern peoples themselves to preserve these languages.

Having analyzed the world experience of legal language legislation on preserving the cultures and languages of small peoples, the authors attempted to apply some global criteria to the Russian legislation and socio-economic practice and identified socially significant criteria for establishing the language situation in relation to the languages of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation living in the North, Siberia and the Far East: the total number of speakers of the language, the use of the language in the education system, the availability of educational and methodological materials for teaching, the factor of inter-generational transmission of a language, the attitudes to the functional benefits from practicing the language among its native speakers. By compiling a methodology for categorizing the language survival type five prototypes of the language state were identified on the basis of statistical data: safe; relatively safe; endangered; critically endangered; close to extinction or dead languages. The authors offered a set of extralinguistic criteria for obtaining objective data on the state of the language and made a supposition that despite the evidence that the languages of the indigenous small-numbered northern peoples of the Russian Federation, with rare exceptions, are on the verge of extinction, significant efforts are being made by the government of the country and the indigenous northern peoples themselves to preserve these languages.","PeriodicalId":42545,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Volgogradskogo Gosudarstvennogo Universiteta-Seriya 2-Yazykoznanie","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74951985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article presents the results of the analysis on perception by network actors implementation of urban projects that affect the environment. An algorithm for adapting linguistic, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic methods for interpreting Big Data in real time is proposed. The study has enabled identifying several conflict situation markers and rating social tension compilation. The transdisciplinary approach has been applied with the use of neural network technologies, text analysis, analysis of word associations, content analysis, sentiment analysis. The material for the study was the data of social networks, microblogs, blogs, instant messengers, video hosting, video materials, forums and reviews on the construction of metro stations in Moscow. Analysis of the data showed the ambivalent attitude of Muscovites to the construction of new metro facilities. A positive reaction, due to the need to develop the transport structure of the city, improve the transport situation, is confronted with the protest of residents who put forward a number of claims. Verbal data examination has made it possible to reveal the rating of social tension around new metro facilities. The selection and analysis of the semantic and associative network with the use of neural network technologies contributed to clarifying and expanding the linguistic paradigm in speech perception of digital content. The results of the study can be used in both text and network analysis.
