Estas propuestas han surgido desde la experiencia de que el modelo actual dominante de capitalismo consumista es insostenible medioambientalmente e injusto socialmente.

Little literature has looked at the role of universities promoting and supporting grassroots social innovations. This paper addresses this gap by examining how universities contribute to social innovation in Colombia. In seeking to develop a good understanding of how universities can contribute to the development of social innovation niches, we draw upon the Strategic Niche Management theory and the three areas of activity which constitute effective niche-building: social networks, expectations and visions and learning. We explore this phenomenon with the Parque Cientifico de Innovacion Social, founded by Uniminuto University in 2012, using video case study research methodology. Findings suggest the important role played by Uniminuto University influencing the current higher education system regime by enhancing the development of social innovation niches. These results have implications for advancing the debate on the role of higher education institutions in contributing to the development of social innovation processes. Este documento aborda esta brecha al examinar como las universidades contribuyen a la innovacion social en Colombia. Al tratar de desarrollar una buena comprension de como las universidades pueden contribuir al desarrollo de nichos de innovacion social, recurrimos a la teoria de Gestion Estrategica de Nichos y las tres areas de actividad que constituyen la creacion efectiva de nichos: redes sociales, expectativas y visiones y aprendizaje. Exploramos este fenomeno con el Parque Cientifico de Innovacion Social, fundado por la Universidad de Uniminuto en 2012, utilizando la metodologia de investigacion de estudios de casos de video. Los hallazgos sugieren el importante papel desempenado por la Universidad de Uniminuto que influye en el regimen actual del sistema de educacion superior al mejorar el desarrollo de nichos de innovacion social. Estos resultados tienen implicaciones para avanzar en el debate sobre el papel de las instituciones de educacion superior en la contribucion al desarrollo de los procesos de innovacion social.

Toda investigacion empirica muestra que el capital social es un factor esencial para producir y preservar los bienes publicos, pero las teorias difieren en cuanto al papel desempenado por las relaciones sociales. Algunos piensan que los bienes publicos no necesitan redes sociales, mientras que otros argumentan que, sin redes sociales, el capital social no se crea y, por lo tanto, los bienes publicos no se valoran. El presente trabajo mantiene que la comparacion entre estas teorias opuestas, o al menos divergentes, solo se puede resolver demostrando si, o no, y bajo que condiciones, las redes de relaciones sociales producen el valor social anadido (VSA) que se traduce en el capital social necesario para apoyar bienes publicos. Adoptando la perspectiva de la sociologia relacional podemos ver y medir el valor social anadido de las relaciones sociales en redes primarias y secundarias, conduciendo a la emergencia de los bienes publicos. Although empirical research reveals that social capital is an essential factor to produce and preserve public assets, theories differ as to the role that social relations play. Some believe that public assets do not require social networks, while others argue that social capital without social networks cannot be created and, therefore, public assets are not valued. This paper mantains that a comparison between these opposing, or at least diverging, theories can only be made by demonstrating whether, and under what conditions, social relation networks produce social added value (SAV) or not, which becomes the social capital needed to support public assets. From the relational sociology perspective, we can see and measure the SAV of social relations in primary and secondary networks that lead to public assets emerging.

Durante la ultima decada se ha producido un importante desarrollo de practicas que formulan propuestas alternativas a los modos de produccion, consumo e intercambio dominantes. Este articulo analiza el tejido de practicas economicas alternativas en la ciudad de Valladolid, una ciudad media alejada de los contextos urbanos sobre los que se ha construido el cuerpo teorico que indaga en el potencial transformador de redes de consumo, mercados de trueque, bancos de tiempo, monedas sociales o huertos comunitarios. El trabajo, consciente del valor del contexto y de la escala, propone para ciudades como la estudiada una relectura que situa dicho potencial no en el ambito economico, sino en el de la practica y la experiencia social y en el de la cultura politica. The last decade has witnessed an important development of practices that involve alternative proposals to the dominant production, consumption and exchange patterns. In the present article, we present an analysis of the interwoven patterns of alternative economic practices in Valladolid, a mid-sized city in Spain. This urban profile differs from the cities that have typically been used to design the body of research on the transformation power that consumer networks, bartering, time banking, social coin and community orchards have. Taking into account the value of both the context and the scale under investigation, this study proposes a reanalysis for these types of cities: under this view, the potential is not placed in the economic sphere but rather in the social practice and experience as well as in the political culture.

For several decades, tourism has mainly been identified as an activity that helps people escape their everyday routines, contributes to understanding between cultures, and promotes economic wellbeing. These assumptions have been questioned in both the public sphere and academic research, however. In this context, tourism research is increasingly drawing on ethical frameworks to support its criticism of tourism. Some of the most outstanding research on this issue is by Dean MacCannell, Emeritus Professor at the University of California at Davis and author of one of the seminal works of the social theory of tourism: The Tourist: A New Theory of the Leisure Class (1976). MacCannell examines the moral and ethical aspects of tourism in all his writing, but they are the focal point of his book The Ethics of Sightseeing (2011), in which he identifies the tourists’ responsibility to mediate between their understanding of their own pleasure and the ethical repercussions of the late modern imperative, “Enjoy!”. During the Touriscape congress in Malaga, Spain, in February 2018, MacCannell talked about ethics and tourism with Jose Luis Lopez, who prepared this interview for Recerca.

En este articulo se analiza el concepto de imperativo metanoetico que Peter Sloterdijk presenta en iHas de cambiar tu vida! Nuestro objetivo es iluminar la naturaleza de lo que, en trabajos anteriores, hemos denominado -a raiz de la obra de Bernard Suits-: razon ludica . Para ello, primero, expondremos y analizaremos el sentido del imperativo metanoetico en Sloterdijk, asi como los elementos principales de su razon ascetica. Segundo, mostraremos como ambos son consecuencia del analisis ontologico de corte heideggeriano en la que Sloterdijk basa su propuesta de filosofia moral. Tercero, presentaremos en terminos sloterdijkianos tanto el analisis ontologico de Suits, como el posible imperativo metanoetico que se desprenderia de su razon ludica. Por ultimo, centrandonos en el papel que Sloterdijk otorga a la figura del «ocioso», mostraremos las posibles conexiones entre Suits y Sloterdijk. Mostraremos la relacion que existe entre los imperativos ludicos y asceticos donde, ademas, el acto «jugar» recibe un papel central en la «respuesta a la pregunta por el ser». In this article, we analyze Peter Sloterdijk’s concept of “metanoethical imperative” in You Must Change Your Life . Our goal is to shed light on what, by drawing on Bernard Suits, we call “ludic reason.” To do so, we will present and examine in depth the meaning of Sloterdijk’s metanoethical imperative, as well as the main features of his concept of “askesis.” Second, we will argue that both concepts are the result of the Heideggerian ontological principles underlying Sloterdijk’s moral philosophy. Third, we will provide a “Sloterdijkean” interpretation of Suits’ account of games by focusing on the metanoethical imperative that could be derived from the notion of the ludic reason. To conclude, we will focus on the role that the figure of the “Good-for-Nothing” plays in Sloterdijk’s account, showing connections between Suits’ and Sloterdijk’s approaches. We will argue that, in the philosophical approaches of both philosophers, the idea of game playing is closely tied to the “question on Being.”

La Economia del Bien Comun (EBC) representa un modelo que, sin llegar a poner en cuestion la libertad de mercado, propone una vision mas humana de la economia a traves del bien comun y la cooperacion. Se trata de un modelo global e integral que se esta desarrollando especialmente en el campo de la microeconomia. El objetivo de este trabajo es, una vez identificadas las caracteristicas basicas del modelo del EBC, justificar sus fundamentos teoricos desde el punto de vista organizativo, en particular, desde la teoria de los stakeholders . El Balance del Bien Comun, como herramienta que sirve para implementar el modelo de la EBC, utilitza una matriz de doble entrada, que sirve para medir la aportacion de las empresas en la consecucion de los principios de los derechos humanos a traves de su relacion con los stakeholders . Este articulo discute la llamada economia colaborativa para senalar, en primer y segundo lugar, algunas dificultades que aparecen (o pueden aparecer) a la hora de comprenderla tanto en terminos analiticos como conceptuales. En tercer lugar, expone dos de las interpretaciones mas extendidas actualmente para, en cuarto lugar, centrarse en aquella que atribuye a la economia colaborativa un caracter emancipador. En particular, se discuten tres importantes limitaciones a las que usualmente debe hacer frente dicha perspectiva: el excesivo protagonismo que otorga a las comunidades colaborativas y al principio de paraigualdad; su modo de entender la racionalidad humana; y su vision a-institucional y meramente psicologica de la naturaleza y el funcionamiento de los mercados. El articulo concluye sugiriendo que, para lograr que la economia colaborativa despliegue su potencial emancipador, se requieren instituciones sociales y politicas que pongan a funcionar dicha colaboracion en beneficio de todas y todos. This paper discusses the so-called collaborative economy, first and second, by pointing out some difficulties that appear (or can appear) in its understanding, both in conceptual and analytical terms. In the third section, two of its most currently widespread interpretations are analysed, while the fourth section focusses in the one that imputes to it an emancipatory character. In particular, three of this interpretation’s most usual boundaries are analysed: the excessive prominence that it confers to collaborative communities and to the principle of egalitarianism; its understanding of the human rationality; and its a-institutional and its mere psychologic approach to the nature and the functioning of markets. The paper concludes by suggesting that, in order to collaborative economy deploy its emancipatory potential, social and political institutions that turns collaboration in benefiting everyone are required.

El emprendimiento social es visualizado como alternativa para responder a las consecuencias que ha generado el neoliberalismo a nivel mundial. La revision del concepto, desde una perspectiva axiologica y pragmatica, por parte de algunos autores, han demostrado que el emprendimiento social, lejos de ser una alternativa al neoliberalismo es una continuidad del mismo. El presente articulo estudia la relacion que tiene el emprendimiento social y el neoliberalismo en funcion de los elementos ontologicos que lo conforman y las escuelas de pensamiento sobre las que se ha implementado. El resultado muestra las paradojas que presenta el concepto a nivel ontologico, y como los emprendimientos sociales desarrollados desde la escuela de Economia Social tienen una mayor capacidad de generar una ruptura con el sistema e ideologia neoliberal; mientras que los emprendimientos desarrollados bajo la escuela de innovacion social, tienden a generar una continuidad al neoliberalismo.

?Como pueden las emociones favorecer una sociedad democratica mas justa y estable? El proposito de este articulo es destacar la importancia de las emociones en el pensamiento de M. C. Nussbaum, y como pueden contribuir, en el contexto del liberalismo politico, a reforzar y dar estabilidad a la democracia. Todo ello parece exigir, segun Nussbaum, integrar el papel de las emociones en el proyecto educativo de la sociedad, para superar el modelo de justicia centrado en el beneficio mutuo, ampliandolo con otro, cuyo centro de gravedad serian las capacidades y el desarrollo humano. Y en tal sentido, es necesario preguntarse por el papel que han de jugar las humanidades, para dar viabilidad y continuidad a tal proyecto.How can emotions enable a fairer and more stable democratic society? The aim of this essay is to emphasize the importance of emotions in M.C. Nussbaum’s thought and how can they contribute to reinforce democracy and provide it with stability to in the context of political liberalism. All of this seems to require, according to Nussbaum, the integration of the role of emotions in society’s educational project, so as to go beyond the model of justice focused on the mutual benefit, widening it with another, whose centre of gravity would be the capacities and the human development. In this sense, it is necessary to ask ourselves about the role Humanities should play, so as to provide such a project with feasibility and continuity.
