This study has analyzed the efficiency of courier companies in Korea in order to provide direction for growth in the fierce competitive market. Based on a reliable source of data, 15 companies are selected as Decision Making Units. In terms of the analysis, four models are adopted. For static analysis, CCR, BCC, and super-efficiency levels are suggested. For dynamic analysis, Malmquist productivity index are analyzed. The result of the CCR and BCC analysis suggest that 8 companies that found a niche market are found to be efficient. They had competitive edge on specialized areas of business sectors. Super efficiency analysis also showed 12 companies to be efficient which means that in the times of Covid19, companies enjoyed the opportunity of growing cargo demands from Covid19 are found to be operated efficiently. From malmquist analysis, there are companies found to be improved and degraded in terms of efficiency levels. It is obvious that traditional logistics companies with size and network still remain competitive while others either enjoy or struggle to compete and survive in the Korean market.

Currently, the way suppliers and buyers find the best business partners on the supply chain is not far from simply focusing on low costs. This study aims to present a way to explore the optimal business partner to construct the best supply chain in consideration of supply chain risks, hidden costs, and opportunities to create added value. More specifically, the probability that a company finds an best business partner between regions or within regions is calculated and presented. In this study, we present a method of developing an index called a transaction possibility score using an artificial intelligence (deep learning) model to find a business partner as an best supplier. We hope that the results of this study will not only explore the best business partners of each local company, but also help reorganize the local industrial structure in Korea.

This study explored how message strategies should be used in the case of innovations close to those vs. far from the existing logistics system. In Study 1, it was revealed that for far-off innovations, a message emphasizing connectivity with existing logistics systems is more effective, and for near innovations, a message emphasizing differentiation is more effective. This effect was limited to flexible thinking consumers. And in the case of far-off innovation, it matches the connectivity message, and in the case of near innovation, it matches the differentiation message because the risk perception of innovation is lowered each in that case. In other words, risk perception for innovation played a role as a mediator. In Study 2, the role of risk perception in an innovative logistics system was explored in depth. For near innovations that only introduced RFID, message strategies that emphasized advantages were effective, and for far-off innovations that introduced both RFID and autonomous driving, message strategies that reassured risks were effective. The reason is that consumers have a high risk perception in the case of distant innovation. However, this risk management effect was limited to consumers who thought abstract and flexible. In addition, this risk management effect did not appear in an innovative logistics system for others other than for self.

As the digital transformation and COVID-19 pandemic in retail and logistics industry, the development of digital platform based e-Commerce makes the demand of logistics dramatically increased. Most of sellers take part in the online shopping mall or digital platform has very small volume and they do not have enough budget to invest on building their own information systems. Thus, it is general to use the standard systems which are presented by the platform. Especially, there are various stakeholders such as sellers, suppliers and logistics service providers in the online retail and logistics platform. But, The standard data fields and forms are designed without considering the different requirements, characteristics, and practical applicability in business of different stakeholders. It may cause the unnecessary cost to transmit the non-value added data, make useless data accummulated, and the required data missed. In this research, the stakeholders who take part in the digital platform are categorized as sellers, suppliers and logistics service providers. The data fields which stakeholders can provide and need to share for enhancing the operations are defined. Also, using AHP, the relative importance of each data fields in the different point of view considering each stakeholders’ requirements. According to the result of evaluation, it was concluded that different stakeholder has different priority to create and share data through the digital platform. With the result of this research, it may be possible to design the differentiated data architecture and enhance the efficiency of operations.

Recently, the size of the global cold chain market is growing. Therefore, the cold chain has increased management risks. The purpose of this study is to identify potential supply chain risk factors that could emerge during the operation of the cold chain logistics system for small and medium-sized export businesses. Additionally, we attempted to comprehend how risk management affected the effectiveness of logistics and shipping. Structured questionnaires were distributed from October 11, 2022, to October 28, 2022, focused on lists of randomly chosen member organizations, including the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Fisheries Trade Association, the Korea Pharmaceutical Bio Association, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, and the Korea Small and Medium Business Association. As for the survey method, about 225 copies were collected by distributing Google questionnaires online, and a total of 202 copies were used for empirical analysis, excluding 23 insincere copies. For empirical analysis, the Smart PLS statistical package was used to evaluate external measurement models, internal structural model evaluation, and structural equation modeling, focusing on conceptual research models. The results of this study are as follows. Among risk factors, low temperature maintenance risk had a negative (-) effect on cold chain risk management, and transportation environment risk and information technology risk had a significant positive (+) effect on cold chain risk management. And risk management was found to have an effect on responsiveness and flexibility in shipping and logistics. This study supplements the contents of previous studies on the risks that small and medium-sized export companies with limited human and financial resources may encounter in the process of operating a cold chain logistics system and examines the causal relationship that related risk management has on shipping logistics efficiency.

Most movie box office predictive models use various variables related to movie production, audience, and movie screening. However, one of the most important variables in the distribution stage when a movie is released is the movie review related to the audience, that is the subject of word of mouth. In most predictive models in which various variables have been used so far, movie reviews have been substituted into emotional indices for additional analysis. In this case, it can be said that it has a limitation in that it is difficult to specifically grasp the contents of word of mouth about the movie. In this paper, only words constituting movie reviews on online portal sites were used as independent variables in the movie box office predictive model, and the relationship with movie box office performance was identified using the LASSO model. Through this, the predictive power of movie reviews on movie box office success was evaluated, and the words in movie reviews that affect movie box office were investigated. As a result of the analysis, the LASSO regression coefficients of words had a correlation with the success of the movies. The LASSO regression coefficients increased as the words appeared in reviews of successful movies, but decreased as they appeared in reviews of unsuccessful movies. As a result, it can be said that movie box office prediction using movie reviews can be helpful for planning additional investment strategy at the distribution stage.

With social disaster-related casualties such as fine dust and COVID-19 occurring steadily around the world, it is very important to stock up, logistics and distribution related emergency public goods to the public facing difficulties related to quarantine supplies to minimize the amount of damage. There are specialized or common emergency public goods for each type of disaster, but it seems necessary to review various logistics and distribution methods that can be used in common rather than logistics and distribution methods of each individual theory. The purpose of this study is to review various methods of essential emergency public goods logistics and distribution in response to social disasters in addition to public retailers such as pharmacies in the past to derive policy alternatives and legal system improvements. After reviewing the problems of the logistics and distribution method of quarantine goods operated in Korea as a research method, Python Crawling was used to review the need to improve the production and price, supply and receipt method of quarantine goods, and policy alternatives were derived from a consumer perspective. The benefits of each alternative were analyzed by applying the benefit items of the user survey and the preliminary feasibility study guidelines that can be analyzed. In order to diversify the logistics and distribution methods of quarantine supplies, various logistics and distribution methods such as delivery, distribution through public officials, and receipt of hypermarkets and convenience stores were comprehensively proposed

With the spread of COVID-19, China have taken the urban blockade policy, the express logistics industry is experiencing difficulties in achieving distribution. Even the daily necessities of customers are difficult to buy. This study finds out the determinants of the service quality of express logistics, proposes the determinants according to the characteristics of the era of COVID-19, and selects five factors, including rapidity, safety, economy, convenience, and accuracy. Through the operational definition of each factor, the questionnaire was made and distributed online for empirical analysis. The main research results are as follows: First, it confirms that the quality of express logistics service has a positive impact on customer satisfaction. Second, among the determinants of express logistics service quality, the government control has a statistically significant moderating effect between the rapidity and convenience in customer satisfaction. However, among the determinants of express logistics service quality, economy, security and accuracy have not found statistically significant moderating effects between customer satisfaction. In other words, the impact of rapidity and convenience on customer satisfaction in express logistics service quality is strengthened with the control of the government. This shows that from the perspective of express logistics enterprises, among the five determinants of the quality of express logistics services caused by COVID-19, it is very important to strengthen the rapidity and convenience. This study reconfirms that in the COVID-19 occluder, the quality of express logistics service also has a positive impact on customer satisfaction. In particular, it is of great significance to analyze the regulatory effect of government regulation. It is generally believed that government regulation will only produce negative effects, but among the determinants of express logistics services, it has a positive regulatory effect in terms of rapidity and convenience, which can be said that the government should pay attention to in the future.

According to the Korea Integrated Logistics Association, domestic parcel delivery volume reached 3.63 billion units last year, and 3.37 billion units in 2020, an increase of 7.6% from the previous year. The importance of online (B2C) logistics is also increasing as the online market grows so fast that it exceeds that of offline stores every year. In particular, the shoemaking industry is trying to achieve efficient logistics business through Third Party Logistics (3PL) rather than own logistics. However, unlike general industrial products, it is not easy to achieve optimization of logistics operation personnel through automated facilities or systems. This is because, due to the nature of the shoe industry, there are areas of work that require handwriting for product management and accurate shipment according to complex part numbers, and there are limitations in system development costs and huge infrastructure investment. In particular, as the number of companies operating the online shoe business increases, the demand for 3PL fulfillment service is also increasing. In addition, in the shoe industry, where individual shipments per item are high, the storage function is an important factor due to the packaging accuracy of skilled workers who require expertise and the nature of products that must be depleted by the third year of manufacture. Therefore, this study tried to study the online logistics process efficiency by applying the ‘Line Balance methodology’ to vitalize the online channel in the domestic shoe market. In other words, by examining the A-B-C work process of the shoe distribution center, the ‘line balance methodology’ is applied to determine whether the balance of work time required for each process is balanced and operated efficiently, and what is the improvement plan. Time was applied in a balanced way to study ways to increase work productivity. In particular, this study is meaningful in that it compares and studies that the required time for each process is applied in a balanced way through line balancing of the logistics center for the activation of online channels in the shoe industry, focusing on the case of Company A, thereby increasing work productivity. have. In addition, although papers related to the existing online channel mainly discuss ways to improve the overall logistics service quality, this study focuses on the case of Company A and studies the method of increasing work productivity of the online channel through the ‘line balance methodology’. There is significance and differentiation in what has been done.
