Fractal dimension analysis of cerebellar grey matter in patients with Chiary Malformation type-I ⅰ型耳蜗畸形患者小脑灰质分形维数分析

Chiari Malformation type I (CM-I), which is described as the elongation of cerebellar tonsils below the foramen magnum through the spinal canal, is a serious congenital or acquired neurological disorder. The purpose of the present study is to implement a fractal analysis using a single midline sagittal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data to evaluate the morphological properties of cerebellar grey matter (GM) in CM-I patients. Therefore, MRI images of 17 patients and 16 healthy subjects were employed to determine the fractal dimension values of cerebellar GM. A custom built graphical user interface (GUI) program developed by MATLAB was used to manually extract the cerebellum to create binary masks. Methods of SPM software package were used to segment the GM from the whole image. With the help of binary cerebellar mask, cerebellar GM data were obtained. Finally, estimation of FD and area values for the segmented GM data were performed. The results indicated that FD values for cerebellar GM in patients with CM-I was significantly higher (p < 0.05) in comparison with those in control group. These findings suggest that FD values estimated for cerebellar GM tissue can serve as a useful marker, a discriminative and descriptive feature to investigate the abnormalities and irregularities in the cerebellum of patients with CM-I.

Design of a functional medical device for home monitoring 一种用于家庭监控的功能性医疗设备的设计

In this study, biomedical devices which is used by patient at home such as glucometer, thermometer, blood pressure meter intended to be performed with the functions of a single device. Biological signals such as blood pressure, blood sugar and body temperature can be measured and the measurement results can be recorded with proposed system. Oscillometric method is preferred for blood pressure measurement, thereby making it possible to measure hypotension and hypertension levels. MLX90614 non-contact temperature sensor used for measuring the body temperature, the electrochemical test strip is used for measuring blood sugar. Designed system gets real time clock information utilizing DS 1307 module. Thus, the time and date information with each measurement is also recorded on the micro SD card. The system basically consist of arduino mega card, 3.6 inch touch screen, pressure sensor, non-contact temperature sensors, electrochemical test strip, battery, micro SD cards, motor and valve driver circuit, real-time clock module, filter stage and current-voltage converter circuit.

A medical waste management model for public private partnership hospitals 公私合作医院医疗废物管理模式

Today, with developing technologies and expanding health care system, medical waste has reached a fairly large volume. Particularly, the extensive use of disposable medical devices and supplies are among the factors that increase the production of medical waste. Monitoring the processes involving the separation, temporary storage, disposal, and transfer of medical waste is critical in terms of the environment and human health. In this study, the implementation of medical waste collection, separation and classification processes were surveyed in new city hospitals constructed with public-private partnership. The standards for temporarily holding wastes were also discussed. Furthermore, the cost analysis required for the handling and disposal of medical waste was provided. By means of studying the medical waste disposal methods, few suggestions regarding the most appropriate methods and models of offset technology investments for the city hospitals were proposed.

Portable ultrasonic wattmeter for ultrasonic prob calibration 用于超声波探头校准的便携式超声波功率计

In our country, in many different brands and types of ultrasound devices are used very intensely in the health sector. However, these ultrasound devices do not pass a mandatory/legal or voluntarily technical measurements /controls. In order to verify the indicated performance and safety of the ultrasonic probes that is the most important part of ultrasound devices, measurements/controls are required to be done as per strong scientific parameters and standards. For this reason, Portable Ultrasonic Wattmeter device has been designed, manufactured and tested. The device works in the distilled water and probe tests are done by operating the probes in this water tank. In the installation system, powers of ultrasonic probes that have an approximate power range between 15 W and 150 W have been measured. In this paper, information will be given and experiences will be shared about the production of ultrasonic wattmeter that measures the power of ultrasonic probes as portable.

Compression of the effect of pulsed electromagnetic field and pulsed radio frequency energy on wound healing in rats 压缩脉冲电磁场和脉冲射频能量对大鼠创面愈合的影响

Delayed or not sufficiently good wound healing is a significant problem in medical treatment is needed to support in order to improve healing. Low frequency electromagnetic field (EMF) applications are seems to give this support. Disturbed vascularization, connective tissue formation, matrix exchange, and inflammation process in the wound environment are modified after EMF applications compared with control groups. Deteriorations in these factors which can be returned with the electrical impulses, DNA synthesis, transcription and transforms of protein synthesis, increasing of fibroblasts and endothelial cell proliferation indicate the presence of EMF mechanisms. Since the application and ambient conditions are kept constant but the type of the application has been changed in our study, it was provided that pulsed radio frequency energy (PRFE) is more effective and has more long-term improvement compared to pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF). The effects of these applications on cells and understanding of the mechanisms of the behavior will be much more significant and meaningful contribute to the treatment.

Measurement of glucose levels with Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) based sensor 测量葡萄糖水平与石英晶体微天平(QCM)为基础的传感器

Sensing and measurement methods with Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) based sensors draw attention as an improving application among studies in recent years. This study is carried out for to be basis of studies on glucose level measurement using human blood serum using QCM sensors. In this paper, measurements with QCM sensor system using pure water containing several levels of glucose samples are carried out. Measurement results are analyzed with plots. The obtained results show that QCM based sensors are sensitive, repeatable and reliable sensor applications for blood glucose measurements.

Effects of autapse and channel blockage on firing regularity in a biological neuronal network 自爆和通道阻塞对生物神经网络放电规律的影响

In this paper; the effects of autapse (a kind of synapse formed between the axon of the soma of a neuron and its own dendrites) and ion channel blocking on the firing regularity of a biological small-world neuronal network, consists of stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley neurons, are studied. In this study, it is assumed that all of the neurons on the network have a chemical autapse and constant membrane area. Obtained results indicate that there are different effects of channel blockage and parameters of the autapse on the regularity of the network. It is found that the firing regularity of the network is decreased with the sodium channel blockage while increased with potassium channel blockage. Besides, it is determined that regularity of the network augments with the conductance of the autapse.

It is found that the firing regularity of the network is decreased with the sodium channel blockage while increased with potassium channel blockage. Effects of dielectric spacer on absorption characteristics of double-headed arrow shaped perfect absorber 介电间隔对双头箭头型完美吸收体吸收特性的影响

In this study, effects of dielectric spacer on absorption characteristics of double-headed arrow shaped perfect absorber (PA) are investigated. The PA nanoantenna array is analyzed by using the FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method. Also the electric field distributions of PA array are obtained for different dielectric layers. To analyze the refractive index sensing capability of the PA array, the sensitivity characteristics are investigated by loading different refractive indexed dielectric cladding media. Owing to the dual-band spectral response, enhanced electric fields, and refractive index sensitivity, the double-headed arrow PA nanoantenna array can be used for bio-sensing applications in infrared regime.

Fabrication and characterization of osteon mimetic microtubular scaffolds for bone tissue engineering application 用于骨组织工程的仿骨微管支架的制备与表征

In the scope of bone tissue engineering, there has still been great amount of demand on designing biomimetic scaffolds that induces differentiation of osteoprogenitor cells by cell-matrix interaction at the nanoscale as well as mimicking micro assembly of compact bone while providing high mechanical strength. In this study, in order to use in the treatment of large bone defects, osteon mimetic 3D microtubular scaffolds were developed by using mineralized nanofiber sheets and characterized. The main goal for designing microtubular scaffolds is to mimic the nano and micro structures of bone tissue.
