Abstract The spread of the use of the Internet in economic and social life has undeniably contributed to the development of the digital economy. Thus, it is hard to imagine that it won’t affect consumer behavior. The primary purpose of this study is to identify current trends shaping consumer behavior. This goal was achieved primarily through a critical analysis of the literature on the subject and social phenomena. For at least the past several decades, consumerism has been a particularly important phenomenon in developed countries. In opposition to consumerism stands another trend that has been experiencing a worldwide renaissance since the 1960s—that is, minimalism. One of the important trends described in the study is the virtualization of consumption. However, the text also highlights groups of consumers who are much slower to adapt to the use of modern tools, namely the digitally excluded. An attempt was also made to characterize minimalism. Its philosophical origins are indicated, and some contemporary scientific findings are presented, the results of which may have strong relevance to business practice.

Abstract We investigated the direct relationship between feedback seeking behavior (FSB) and performance, considering two dimensions of FSB (frequency and content) and two types of performance (goal achievement and behavior-related performance). The purpose is to identify new explanations for the inconclusive results of the direct relationship reported in the literature. FSB is important during performance conversations, which are critical for the effectiveness of performance management. Data from a sample of 306 employees were gathered from two distinct sources on three occasions. Our data were analyzed using the hierarchical regression method. The relationship between FSB frequency and goal achievement was statistically significant. The diagnostic FSB content was positively related to individual work performance (IWP), representing behavior-related performance. We identified no similar relationship with other types of FSB content. This paper provides evidence that while a direct relationship between FSB and performance may not generally exist, it depends on the type of FSB content and expected types of performance. Organizations can use the results to improve the effectiveness of FSB.

Abstract The paper's main aim is to contribute to the empirical knowledge of women's entrepreneurship by utilizing the McKinsey 7S Model to explain the managerial phenomenon in women-led companies. The paper is based on secondary data sources. The data were collected from case studies presented in academic journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The data collection used the PRISMA 2009 method. The case studies of women-led companies were assessed in the McKinsey 7S model on a qualitative basis. The paper introduces women companies' managerial traits and procedures, which the McKinsey 7S model can recognize. In the chosen and analyzed sample of case studies dealing with female entrepreneurship, not even one directly used the McKinsey model for analysis. Results also showed that the 7S model should be used with primary data rather than to evaluate incomplete secondary data. Also, factors that lead women to start a business worldwide have been shown.

Abstract This study aimed to identify the impact of work stress on job performance of nursing workers in Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza Strip. The researchers used the descriptive and analytical approach. The study population was selected from nursing staff in Al-Awda Hospital, where the size of the study sample reached 60 nurses. The researchers used the comprehensive enumeration method for all members of the study population. Questionnaire was used for data collection because the size of the study population is small. The most important findings of the study are: The level of the respondents’ answers in Al-Awda Hospital about work stress was 68.8%, job performance was 78.13%, and there is a direct statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of work stress and the job performance of nursing workers at Al-Awda Hospital, where the correlation coefficient was 0.318. Furthermore, the results showed a statistically significant effect between the dimensions of work stress on job performance at Al-Awda Hospital. The study recommended that senior management at Al-Awda Hospital pay attention to all dimensions of work stress, the elements that contribute to improve job performance of nurses, and their impact on improving job performance at Al-Awda Hospital.

Abstract This paper develops a methodological approach to assessing the supply chain management in small- and medium-sized businesses with further testing it in the companies in the post-Soviet economies. The research objectives were achieved in terms of a sophisticated multi-country project resulting in assessment of the supply chain management for small- and medium-sized businesses in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan (256 businesses in total). The study was implemented through a phased application of online survey methods using closed-ended single-choice questions, including a 5-point Likert scale, mean score ranking, and ABC analysis using the Pareto principle. The assessment showed that, regardless of the surveyed country, almost all respondent businesses use a reactive supply chain design. Since the reactive design does not allow for the implementation of resilient supply chain development, the recommended practices, which have been developed during the pilot phase, deal with improving the supply chain management and gradual transformation of the reactive design into a cooperative management model to ensure resilient supply chain development under uncertainty.

Abstract By integrating several prominent theories and models in technology adoption, this study develops a research model to examine the factors affecting jobseekers’ intention to use job boards. The validity and reliability of the researcher-developed instrument, the SEDA-IUQ (SEDA-Intention to Use Questionnaire), were assessed using a combination of statistical methods. Utilizing the data collected from 447 Iranian respondents, findings from the exploratory factor analysis provided evidence for the five-factor solution, that is, technological innovation, functional adequacy, content accessibility, practical utility, and reputation-seeking intention, for the 36-item SEDA-IUQ. Various relationships in the research model are tested using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. In addition to developing a practical questionnaire that the e-recruitment researchers and practitioners can deploy to study jobseekers’ behavioral intentions, this is the first study on job search websites’ adoption in the Iranian context. The results support existing literature on e-recruitment adoption and extend it by demonstrating the multidimensionality of jobseekers’ perceptions and behavioral intentions toward e-recruitment.

Abstract In the new reality caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, consumers had to face many challenges, primarily the need to make purchases remotely. Consequently, consumers have been forced to use digital communication channels more often, and many have been forced to use these channels for the first time. The aim of the article is to answer the following question: How did the pandemic affect the preferences of Polish consumers with regard to the use of digital communication and service channels? The article also indicates the requirements and expectations of consumers with regard to digital service channels after the pandemic. The research methodology was based on a critical analysis of the literature, secondary data analysis, and deductive reasoning. The main conclusion from the conducted research is the statement that the pandemic did not significantly change the preferences of Polish consumers regarding the use of digital communication and service channels.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of knowledge sharing on the relationship between competitive intelligence and product development. A cross-sectional design was used in this study. Using a random sample of 178 general managers from the chemical manufacturing sector in Jordan, the data were collected through an online questionnaire. A structural equation modeling (SEM) was utilized to test the study hypotheses. Findings reveal that competitive intelligence and knowledge sharing have a positive effect on product development; additionally, competitive intelligence has a positive effect on knowledge sharing; and finally, knowledge sharing partially mediates the relationship between competitive intelligence and product development. These results help managers determine how to enhance product development by focusing on competitive intelligence and knowledge sharing. The unique contribution of this study lies in studying knowledge sharing as a mediator variable in the relationship between competitive intelligence and product development, since the empirical analysis of such a relationship has never been undertaken.
