The Application of Virtual Tools in Teaching Dynamics in Engineering 虚拟工具在工程动力学教学中的应用

Student success in Dynamics, a core subject in Mechanical Engineering courses, requires conceptual understanding of complex systems. Dynamics covers motion of particles and objects, and usually relies on 2 dimensional images and/or written descriptions to explain models and problems. This paper explores the value of visual representation of Dynamics problems with an assumption that it would facilitate student understanding of the content. Two approaches were applied for representation of Dynamics problems with the premise of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): used with augmented reality and web animation activities. Responses from students and reflection from lecturers were collected and reviewed in relation to the applicability and the ease of use. Students and lecturers both appreciated the benefits of visual representation of complex models, and the possibility of manipulating with virtual objects. Lecturers also appreciated the easy access and use of tools during the class.

The Correlation between Supply Chain Performance and Information Technology 供应链绩效与信息技术的相关性研究

Supply Chain Performance is regarded as a crucial organizational performance indicators. Much effort has been made to enhance it. So, effective and efficient supply chains are recognized as a crucial strategic aspect for achieving several essential corporate objectives, such as improved customer service, enhanced efficiency, and enhanced competitiveness. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the role of information technology on supply chain performance with information technology support as a mediator. The study has been designed based on a descriptive approach using a survey to collect data by questionnaire from Saudi logistics professionals. The potential respondents were members of Hyper Panda's top level of management and executive personnel who were familiar with the company's operations and supply chain procedures. There are 83 valid responses. The research result has several findings and outcomes that will inform future research. The study findings will shed light on choosing the most effective information technology with a significant influence on supply chain performance.

The Role of Information and Communication Technology in Improving the Financial Performance of Hospitals 信息通信技术在提高医院财务绩效中的作用

We are witnessing that the healthcare system of the Republic of Croatia is faced with numerous challenges, especially financial ones. Many activities are needed to improve the condition. In this paper, the emphasis is on the application of information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool for reducing costs and increasing income. The hypothesis of the work is that with the help of ICT we can directly, but also indirectly, by applying ICT through the so-called Dynamic Balanced Scorecard (DBSC) to influence business improvement. The DBSC method enables the evaluation of financial operations indirectly through employee education, optimization of business processes and increased patient satisfaction. In addition to the DBSC method, analysis of the collected literature, cost-benefit method and case studies are used to test the hypothesis. Regarding structure of the work, the introduction explains the context of the hospital's operations, defines the goals, hypothesis and research methods. This is followed by a description of the conducted research. The conclusion contains final considerations as well as suggestions for future research.

Hybrids of Uniform Test and Sequential Uniform Designs with "Intersection" Method for Multi-Objective Optimization 多目标优化的均匀试验与顺序均匀设计的“交集”混合方法

For multi-objective optimization under condition of complicated objective function, the data processing in the evaluation is sometime tediously long, special algorithm is needed to be adopted. Since the remarkable features of uniform distribution of test points within the test domain and the small number of tests, fully representative of each point, and easy to perform regression analysis, the uniform test design method is hybrid with the “intersection” method for multi-objective optimization to simplify the complicated data process in evaluation first. Furthermore, the "intersection" multi-objective optimization methodology is combined with sequential uniform design so as to get a more precise approximation for solving multi-objective optimization problem, the procedure for searching optimum of the “intersection“ multi-objective optimization methodology with sequential uniform design algorithm is put forward. A multi-objective optimization of linear programming problem with three variables is taken as our example, which involves a maximum for one objective and a minimum for another objective. The result for applying the novel approach to the example indicates the effectiveness of current hybrids.

Performance Optimisation of Single-Phase Variable Reluctance Shaded-Pole Motor 单相变磁阻阴极电机性能优化

Shaded pole induction motors’ theoretical analysis is quite difficult because of the presence of strong harmonic components and the elliptical rotating field. The change of air gap reluctance is affecting the air gap flux distribution and thus the performance of the motor. In the study, the effect of the change in the SPIM’s stator, rotor and squirrel cage on the performance of the motor is analysed by the Finite Element Method. The flux distributions and torque values of the closed-interpoles type and the stator with different interpoles clearances are obtained. The effects of single and double cage structures in the rotor part and the effects of copper and aluminium cage materials in the squirrel cage were analysed. According to the analyses, it was determined that the single cage motor with aluminium cage material exhibited the best torque performance with a torque value of 132.78 mNm.

Hybrid of "Intersection" Algorithm for Multi-ObjectiveOptimizationwith Response Surface Methodology andits Application 多目标优化“交集”算法与响应面法的混合及其应用

Recently, a new "intersection" method for multi-objective optimization was developed in the points of view set theory and probability theory, which introduces a new idea of favorable probability to reflect the favorable degree of the utility of performance indicator in multi-objective optimization, and the product of all partial favorable probabilities of entire utilities of performance indicators makes the overall / total favorable probability of the candidate. Here, in this paper, the new "intersection" algorithm for multi-objective optimization is combined effectively with response surface methodology (RSM) by taking each response as one objective, which transfers the multi-response optimization problem into a single response one with the help of the overall / total favorable probability of each scheme. The overall / total favorable probability is the uniquely decisive index of the scheme in the optimization. Applications of the hybrid approach with two examples in material technology are given, proper predictions are obtained.

Tensile Strength of Carbon Fiber 碳纤维的拉伸强度

Carbon fiber is a material with a vast area of utilization. When combined with a resin, we get a composite, which provides great mechanical properties, has low mass and can be utilized in many different applications. Carbon fiber cloth can be found in a wide range of forms and shapes, differing from weight to the shape of their weave. Manufacturing a composite part can be achieved with a variety of techniques and processes, each of them having advantages and disadvantages over the other. One of the most common process for producing composite parts is the open moulded hand lay-up process. This process is economically viable, has low cost for equipment, and can produce parts with satisfactory results. A composite sheet is manufactured using the hand lay-up process. Three testing samples are taken out from the composite sheet, and their tensile strength is determined using the ASTM D3039 standard.

Satellite communications (SatComs) recently, have admitted as a new technological advances that attracted and raised special investment and ventures. Space communication technology has found many application areas from costly, one-of-a-sort structures, to utilize again of technology on sequential tasks, to the progress of canonical protocols accepted by space agencies of lots of countries. Satellite communication has accepted as one of the important technologies for 5G backhauling, particularly on bandwidth request increased in 5G mobile broad band (eMBB) applications. This paper presents the efficiency of the satellite communication system using 16 QAM digital modulation technique for the X band. This digital modulation method presents high data rate in transmission without raising the bandwidth compared with other digital modulation methods. Applications are realized in Matlab environment and obtained conclusions are discussed such as power spectrum diagrams, constellation schemas and BER ratio for several bands such as 4, 8, 12, 16 GHz.

Prioritizing the Researchers’ Important Competencies in Research Centres 研究中心研究人员重要能力的优先排序

Changes caused by the knowledge economy, including the emergence of new idea flows in management, methods and structure of organizations, have led to a change in the roles and skills needed for researchers in organizations. As new age organizations focus on intellectual property, organizational aspirations and organizational change, the researchers, as the wealth creators, in order to quickly adapt to new situations and develop their competencies in the competitive market, need to constantly change and develop a new identity for themselves. Since competencies have a prudential feature through describing skills and behavioural approaches, identifying and explaining researchers’ competencies in research centres is of particular importance. Accordingly, the present paper seeks to identify the factors and indicators of researchers’ competencies in research centres using scientific methods and surveys and then identify, classify, and prioritize researchers’ important competencies using statistical methods. According to the results obtained from the present study, creativity and innovation, integration, accountability and customer orientation competencies have higher priorities; however, all identified important competencies have a significant positive distance to mean. With the help of the results of this study, researchers and managers can clarify expectations about each other.

A Working from Home (WFH) 2022 - Best Practices Implementation and Case Study ofCompany 在家办公(WFH) 2022 -公司最佳实践实施和案例研究

While four per cent of employees in Germany worked from home before the covid crisis, this figure was around 30 per cent in the first lockdown in April 2020. Now working from home and mobile working are part of the everyday life of many employees. Experience has shown that many activities can also be carried out from other locations than the classic office in the company. Location-flexible work will also still be standard in some sectors after the crisis. This article shows employees' experiences with working from home in corona times, with serious advantages and disadvantages being reported. Best practices as implementation of company agreements are presented based on an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) example: Example of working from home (WFH) / office work, life-phase oriented working time instruments as a personnel management success factor, promotion of cross-border cooperation, efficient use of resources, questions on learning from the pandemic, working through the corona period with employees, recommendations for surviving this crisis and culture of trust versus control.
