In recent years, there has been an increasing interest among food industry producers for functional foods. In this context, the study aims to isolate new lactic acid bacteria strains with probiotic potential that could further be used to obtain valuable metabiotics with good technological potential and health benefits. In the current study, twenty-nine newly LAB strains were isolated from various natural sources, including artisanal cultures (like, kefir grains and kombucha membrane), and selected through fermentation potential on unconventional plant-base substrates, consisting red lentils flour, red potato peel powder, and okara. The strains identified using 16S rDNA sequencing, as Lacticaseibacillus paracasei (encoded BL13, BL80, BL87) and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (encoded BL21) were further screened considering their in vitro probiotic properties. The safety assessment evaluation highlighted that Lacticaseibacillus paracasei (BL13) and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (BL21) selected as performant strains have antimicrobial potential against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, being also susceptible to tetracycline, chloramphenicol and ampicillin. Furthermore, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (encoded BL21) proved good adhesion properties on the HT-29 cell line. These strains are new promising probiotic starter cultures candidates with approachable potential to be used for obtaining functional food and ingredients through fermentation processes, that could offer health benefits.

Natural plain yogurts enriched with 1, 2, and 3% of whole chia seeds (Y1, Y2, and Y3 respectively) were produced, in addition to a control yogurt (CY) without supplementation. The physicochemical parameters monitoring was conducted every week for a period of 4 weeks of cold storage (4°C) at the days 1, 7, 14, 21 and 28 (mentioned as D1, D7, D14, D21 and D28 respectively). The results showed that the pH values and titratable acidity didn’t fluctuate significantly between samples (P>0.05). The syneresis highest degree was observed for CY, which indicates a better capacity of retaining water for fortified yogurts. The total polyphenol contents increased significantly with increasing enrichment rates and ranged from 0.13±0.006 to 0.21±0.02 mg EAG/g for CY and Y3 respectively on D1. The antioxidant activity, estimated by DPPH and ABTS tests was significantly higher in enriched yogurts (from 24.1±1.66 to 49.4±2.11% of DPPH inhibition on D14 for CY and Y3 respectively). The viability of lactobacilli and streptococci was significantly enhanced in yogurts containing chia seeds compared to the control (P<0.05). The sensory analysis revealed that the chia seeds addition increased the intensity of smell, aroma, sweetness and consistency of yogurts and decreased their acidity. Y2 and Y3 samples were the most appreciated by the panelists.

Real-time processing for images is increasingly used in automotive industry. Video signals are nowadays used for different applications on traffic, such as measuring average speed, monitoring traffic congestion, detect red light crossing, but also for sign recognition, lane assist etc. The paper proposes an embedded system for image processing used for controlling climatization in cars. This system is also useful in case of an accident to activate the airbag if a person is on the seat or not to do it if a heavier object is placed on the seat, for example a bag. For this aim, a Raspberry Pi3 based system is proposed for real-time detecting of the number of passengers existing in a vehicle. The Raspberry Pi3 is used for acquiring frames from a video camera connected via USB interface and for on-line processing of images. The system uses an Haar cascade classifier algorithm (HCCA) for human face detection.

In this paper, we present a comprehensive taxonomy of the most popular authentication mechanisms, the main threats, vulnerabilities, the possible types of attacks and the security issues that are associated with computer systems. Our main contribution is to analyze the architecture of the current security environment from all aspects and to make a comparative assessment of different authentication methods in order to identify and develop a scalable and reliable mechanism that must deal with multi-level security and strong authentication requirements. We propose hybrid methods of authentication, which combine and integrate biometric technologies with cryptographic asymmetric algorithms, elements that play a vital role in the field of information security and aim to resolve the shortcomings of traditional methods of authentication and enhance the level of security.

The major consequence of Internet using has been the rapid growth of technology mediated distance learning at each level of education. Open-source e-learning platforms, like course management systems, learning management systems or learning content management systems have lately become an obvious choice whenever an e-learning infrastructure is being designed. Due to the diversity of these platforms with many characteristics and to the constraints of an educational institution or even enterprise, the task of choosing a suitable platform that meets particular requirements is not trivial. The main purpose of this paper is to present an intelligent system (an expert system) supporting this decision-making. The knowledge base contains facts regarding characteristics of some open-source e-learning platforms (ATutor, LON-CAPA, Moodle, DotLRN/OpenACS, Sakai, Claroline and Docebo) and rules for reasoning about decision-making. CLIPS language is used for building the knowledge base for the intelligent system and C# language for the graphical user interface.

In this paper we set out to introduce new elements when calculating the level of trust given to a new member of a virtual organization. Compared to previous works, we have introduced new elements: the initial trust whose value results from sociological and psychological considerations and a reassessment of the trust by introducing feedback elements in the calculation formulas. The trust values thus calculated will be the elements on which the trust-based security policies of the organization will be built.

Cardiovascular diseases are part of a group of conditions starting from the heart structures and blood vessels. Since the symptomatology of these conditions is complex, which affects the whole body, special attention is required from the medical personnel. The management of these pathologies is a complex one, which obligatorily implies the existence of good communication between the primary healthcare as well as the treating specialists.According to the latest statistical studies, cardiovascular diseases are currently the main cause of death worldwide. According to statistics from 2015, 17.9 million deaths were due to cardiovascular pathologies, which is 6.3% more than the death rate in the 90s. From the point of view of the distribution of these conditions depending on sex, the predominance is noted among men of acute coronary diseases and vascular accidents, the same conditions being found also in the case of the opposite sex [McGill, H. 2008].Arterial hypertension is defined by specialized literature as a chronic cardiovascular disease. It is characterized by the constant presence of elevated blood pressure values. Over time, this conjuncture creates an environment in which it is stimulated in the development of coronary diseases, aneurysms, but also peripheral vascular disease, as well as purely cardiac pathologies such as heart failure (which has systemic symptoms), or atrial fibrillation [Lawes, C, 2001].

Cardiac arrhythmias in children and young are presented in a broad spectrum, given the large and varied number of known arrhythmias. The incidence of pre-excitation syndromes in children ranges from 1:250 to 1:1000 [11].Our understanding of ventricular preexcitation began in 1921 when Wedd described an “intraventricular block and a PR interval of 0.08 ms.” [1] Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) was first described in 1930 as a bundle-Branch Block with Short P-R Interval. Moreover, the delta wave Wolff et al. described the presence of the delta wave on the EKG for the first time [2].Clinical manifestations in WPW are broad, ranging from recurring PSVT to SCD. The risk of developing the last condition in people with WPW syndrome is still unknown. However, multiple studies reveal that asymptomatic WPW has a low chance of SCD and a favorable prognosis [3-6]. Moreover, multiple studies present reasonable life expectancy in patients with WPW syndrome, even if they may present multiple episodes of PSVT [7-10].

Trauma continues to be a major problem in the young, working-age population, so many societies have tried to improve polytrauma care methods. Over the last two decades, various systems have been published to facilitate the identification of treatment strategies for patients with multiple trauma. Safe and prompt individualized management (Prompt individualized safe management (PRISM)) is a new concept that includes the approach of each patient separately. The main objectives of this study were to highlight the socio-demographic characteristics, clinical and paraclinical characteristics, and various risk factors of young adults with polytrauma. The study presented in this article was of a descriptive, retrospective type, including 1294 patients who presented themselves in the Emercency-department of the " Saint Andrei" County Emergency Hospital, Galaţi.The data obtained from the statistical reports of the hospital and the presentation sheets of the patients, have been statistically analyzed using SPSS and MS Excell. There for, we have been able to analyze and to obtain statistically relevant results for the distribution of polytrauma cases, seasonality and evolution aspects regarding the toracoabdominal traumas (87.5%) and craniofacial traumas (76.8%), which have been the most frequent forms.
