Higher-Order Modelling of Media Interfaces for Enhanced FDTD Analysis of Microwave Circuits 增强微波电路时域有限差分分析的介质接口高阶建模

The 1st and 2nd order accurate models of media interfaces are originally developed and incorporated into the FDTD method. Both models are shown to provide unambiguous results and increased fidelity of the FDTD method for inhomogeneous microwave circuits. They combine computational effectiveness of standard FDTD with accuracy equal or superior to that of nonorthogonal FDTD and FETD formulations. For practical problems the 1st order model proves satisfactory, the 2nd order model becomes feasible for coarse discretization.

Slotline Short and Open Circuit Analysis by the Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method 时域有限差分法分析槽线短路和开路

Short and open slotline circuit structures are important elements for mm-wave MMIC circuit designs. Reports on their characteristics are few, and are limited mainly to experimental investigation. In this paper, slotline short and open end effects are analyzed for the first time by the Finite-Difference Time-Domain method with modified dispersive boundary conditions. A numerical deembedding method is used which improves computation precision. Numerical results are presented and compared with experimental data, evanescent mode and metal wall packaging effects are discussed.

A New Application of A Lange Coupler For On-Wafer Noise Parameter Measurement Verification 兰格耦合器在片上噪声参数测量验证中的新应用

Using a thin film technology, we have designed and fabricated a new passive device for on-wafer noise parameter measurement verification. The main feature specifying this device is the same order of magnitude for input-output reflection coefficients and for noise parameters, as for low noise field effect transistors. This new device is ideal as a verification standard, suited for on-wafer measurements due to its small size and wide operation bandwidth.

Null Steering in Adaptive Arrays using a Genetic Algorithm 基于遗传算法的自适应阵列零导向

Antennas are frequently requiréd to have beam steering, adaptive nulling and direction finding capabilities, and technologies already exist for performing some of these functions. In a new approach, we apply a genetic algorithm to solve the problem of null steering in adaptive arrays. It has been shown that it is possible to steer the array nulls precisely to the required interference directions and to achieve any prescribed null depths. A comparison with the results obtained from analytic solutions, for complex weights, element phases, or element positions, shows some advantage of using the genetic algorithm approach for null steering in linear array patterns. We also show its potential for conformal array design.

Nonlinear Active Antenna Array Dynamics and Load Analysis 非线性有源天线阵列动力学与负载分析

This paper describes a method used to determine the nonlinear dynamics of an array of two mutually coupled transmitting active antenna elements. The model is cast in terms of amplitude and phase dynamics and array entrained frequency condition in the situation where the array elements are spatially coupled by mutual injection locking. The work reported here treats phase and amplitude dynamics in a coupled manner. The model presented can accommodate unlike active antenna element characteristics such as power output and frequency of operation as well as permiltting unequal element spacing. In addition to the above, a separate load pulling analysis is given for the calculation of the frequency and power variation of an active antenna operated in the presence of a reflecting metallic surface.

Using Optical Feedforward Linearization to Reduce Noise and Intermodulation Distortion of Fabry-Perot Lasers for Cable Television Distribution Networks 利用光前馈线性化降低有线电视分配网络中法布里-珀罗激光器的噪声和互调失真

This paper describes an optical feedforward scheme to linearize Fabry-Perot lasers and to reduce their inherently high RIN figure. Instead of using expensive, highly linear and low-noise DFB lasers, which is the usual choice for high quality analog TV optical transmitters, the use of Fabry-Perot lasers offers a low-cost alternative with comparable performance. Experimeptal results of 1OdB noise reduction and an average of 18dB non-linear distortion improvement have been achieved.

Three different transitions for connecting the coplanar waveguide (CPW) to the slotline were designed. The performances of these transitions in back-to-back configuration were simulated and measured over 1-50 GHz. The design of these transitions were carried out with the view to monolithically integrating tapered slot antenna with coplanar waveguide circuits on InP substrate.

A New 140 GHz Planar Diode Finline Mixer for Radiometer Applications 用于辐射计的新型140 GHz平面二极管鳍线混频器

A new coolable 142 GHz finline mixer using an anti parallel mounted pair of planar air-bridge-type GaAs Schottky barrier diodes is described. Excellent performance data were measured (single sideband noise temperature about 600°K at a case temperaur of 13°K, conversion loss about 6 dB at room temperature). These features are comparable wit the mehanically more complicated whisker contacted mixers, which are traditionally used in atmospheric sounder experiments. The finline mixer has successfully been applied as the core of a receiver frontend for millimetre wave ozone radiometry measurements at 142.175 GHz

Frequency Selective Tunable Microwave Mixers using Magnetostatic Waves 使用静磁波的频率选择可调谐微波混频器

Tunable microwave mixers using magnetostatic spin wave (MSW) propagating in nonstationary magnetised thin yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) films have been developed and investigated. The mixers are tuned in the frequency range 3-10 GHz by changing of external magnetic field. The first mixer provided a frequency shift of up to 300 MHz with minimal conversion loss about of - 15 dB. The second one provided a frequency shift of 20-150 MHz and had minimal conversion loss of up to -20 dB. Both mixers are resonant in nature, therefore they provide a frequency filtration of the signals as well.

The second one provided a frequency shift of 20-150 MHz and had minimal conversion loss of up to -20 dB.
