In this paper, a physical model in state-space form is established for CO2 transcritical power cycle systems. Constrained model predictive control algorithm is applied to control the waste heat recovery system. Simulation results show that the predictive control method have good performance for disturbance rejection and set-point tracking. In addition, the waste heat from the exhaust gas can be well utilized.

Internet of Things (IoT) is an interconnection between the physical object and digital world. As a result, many e-commerce companies seize the advantages of the IoT to grow their business. However, the world's largest minority are people with disabilities. IoT can lower barriers for the disabled people by offering assistance in accessing information. Increasing Internet accessibility can help to make that happen for both social and economic benefit. This paper presents the proposed integrated framework of the IoT and cloud computing for people with disabilities such as sensory (hearing and vision), motor (limited use of hands) and cognitive (language and learning disabilities) impairments in the context of business-to-consumer e-commerce context. We conclude that IoT-enabled services offer great potential for success of disabled people in the context of online shopping.

A mathematical modeling is established by analytical method to study the air gap magnetic field in the Permanent Magnet Linear Motors (PMLM) with Halbach array. The two-dimensional vector magnetic potential of air gap magnetic field is calculated by solving the Maxwell equations, and then the analytical expression of the air gap magnetic flux density is obtained. The analytical results are in very good agreement with those obtained by the FEM, which confirms the accuracy of the analytical method. Halbach array is contrasted with radial array, thus, its advantage is proved. The impact of the height and the width coefficient of the permanent magnets on the fundamental amplitude and sine distortion rate of air gap magnetic flux density is discussed. The measurement system of magnetic flux density is built to further verify the correctness of the analytical method. The reference for the design of corresponding linear motors is offered by the analysis of air gap magnetic field.

This paper presents the analysis, design and test of the high-power high-current Poloidal Field (PF) converter module, which will be used in the PF coil power supply system of the International Thermonuclear Experiment Reactor (ITER) superconducting tokamak. Due to the high current rating and special Fault Suppression Capability (FSC) requirement, the number of paralleled thyristors on each arm is determined 12 based on the type selection analysis of thyristor and high-speed fuse. A large amount of parallel thyristors will give rise to significant difficulties in the current sharing design. So a novel method based on inductance matrix is proposed for the current sharing design. To ensure the structural strength under the worst fault condition, a new structure design based on the framework structure is applied in the bridge. Corresponding tests are performed and the test results indicate that the PF converter module is of good current sharing ability and high dynamic characteristic, which can fully satisfy the design requirement. The design method and structure of the PF converter module can provide a reference for the research and development (R&D) of high-power high-current thyristor converters.

Recently, Electric power quality has become significant in the both power suppliers side and end user side. The electrical power system polluted because of non-linear loads used in the system. Utilities always looking for cost effective and improved power quality (PQ) solutions. Initially, the conventional method of passive filtering enrich to mitigate the PQ problems. The inadequate performance of the conventional passive filter techniques to mitigate PQ problems has affirm to introduce advanced power electronic based topologies in the improvement of PQ. Shunt active power filter (APF) is well established to mitigate PQ problems like current harmonics, reactive power demand and poor power factor in the distributed electrical power system. This study gives a brief review on shunt APF configurations for single-phase (two-wire), three-phase three-wire (3P3W) and three-phase four-wire (3P4W) systems and compensation control techniques for sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal voltage supply conditions. Additionally, latest improvements, practical aspects of implementation and some future research fields to carry out in the field on shunt APF.

The explosive growth of the Android platform has been a significant win for consumers with respect to competition and features. To provide users with the security applications to manage the data in their personal smart phones is very important. In this paper we describe an Android app development that the user can use to keep in touch with the lost phone if the user has misplaced the mobile or forgot the mobile somewhere and wanted to know the call history, SMS, GPS locations etc. The security solution provided by this app requires the user to install the application with security codes for call logs, SMS and GPS tracking. User has to send an SMS with these secret codes to the mobile in order to retrieve the call logs, messages, GPS locations to the mobile from which the SMS was sent. User can also manage personal information such as delete the call logs or messages. If the SIM card has been changed, the user will receive a notification with that information to the alternate number. With this app, users can also manage the personal information remotely and securely. The process and coding created in this research can be used as the platform for other secured Android mobile app development.

Condition monitoring of large synchronous generators plays a critical role in power generation systems. It prevents unexpected failure of the systems. About half of the failures in synchronous generators are related to eccentricity fault. This paper presents a comprehensive review of various eccentricity fault diagnosis methods employed over the last decades. The aim is to provide a broad prospective on the status of the eccentricity fault in synchronous generators for researchers and engineers. Finally, a novel index has been proposed in order to cover other indexes deficiency.

Force platforms are the most commonly used sensory instrument used in the measurement of ground reaction forces for sports biomechanical evaluation. This paper documents the development and validation of such a force platform to be used by national level athletes. The developed force platform consists of four load cells, and an aluminium plate of dimensions 70.6cm × 70.6cm. The data acquired can be monitored on a graphical user interface. Nine segments of the force platform was evaluated at two separate loads to determine regional dependencies. The maximum difference in measurements between segments was 0.6% for the higher load. The force platform was compared against a commercially available force platform, for its ability to accurately measure loads up to 5000N. The developed platform performed better in comparison, when measuring forces above 1000N. The developed force platform is not regionally dependent, and is able to measure ground reaction forces up to 5000N at a sampling rate of 1000Hz, with an accuracy of above 99% between 1000N and 5000N.

Lower extremity exoskeleton rehabilitation robot is one of the focus in the field of robotics developed to help physical therapists complete rehabilitative therapy. However, the traditional rehabilitation robot cannot fit specific human body structure parameters well very, which may reduce the rehabilitation effect. To overcome this problem, this paper mainly discusses the Design and Simulation on a new bionic lower extremity rehabilitation robot. Firstly, a three-dimension model has been established in SolidWorks. Secondly the kinematic analysis has been made. Then, the model has been imported into ADAMS to verify the correctness of the analysis by simulation. At last, based the PID control system and the simulation model created in ADAMS, the union simulation by ADAMS and Matlab has been created to verify its control performance. The union simulation shows that this rehabilitation robot can follow the designed trajectory with good stability and smaller control difficulty.

Embedded systems are systems in which hardware and software are closely linked. In the embedded system, the software controls the hardware. We focused on Ruby which is an object-oriented programming language and scripting language to improve development efficiency of embedded systems. We developed mruby which applied Ruby for embedded systems, and this overview is described in this paper. mruby provides the real-time and hardware access functions required by embedded systems.
