This paper studies the stability of networked control systems. The characteristics of random packet-dropout are firstly described as the Markov stochastic process, and a model of discrete-time jump systems with uncertain parameters is then established. Based on the theory of Lyapunov stability and stochastic process with the elements of the Markov transition probability matrix partly unknown (even all elements are unknown), the time-varying controller, which depends on the characteristics of packet-dropout and meets the requirement of stochastic mean square stability, is designed. Lastly a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed approach.

A new data acquisition (DAQ) instrument based on LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation (LXI) bus and synthetic instruments has been proposed to deal with tricky testing problems in complex electrical system. This instrument is equipped with multi-core ARM processor and large capacity FPGA to achieve best DAQ and data processing performance. One important feature is multi-functional measuring, it can acquire amounts of data coming from different kinds of signals simultaneously. In addition, the instrument is portable for mobile testing on account of its compact mechanical components and low weight. The software system refers to the concepts of IVI, SCPI and ATML, using a hierarchical and modular design method. Furthermore, the whole system has a strong ability of data processing and is able to realize parallel DAQ on many channels at the same time. And the online reconfiguration make it more possible to meet the requirements coming from different targets, so the equipment is universal and can be applied to a variety of tasks. Practices prove that this instrument works well with easy operation and meets the requirements of design.

A novel method for appearance-based gaze estimation from massive synthetic eye images is proposed in this paper. This method is a combination of neighbor selection and gaze local regression for gaze mapping. First, a simple cascaded method using multiple k-NN(k-Nearest Neighbor) classifier is employed to select neighbors in feature space joint head pose, pupil center and eye appearance. Second, PLSR (Partial Least Square Regression) is applied to seek for a direct correlation between image feature and gaze angle. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art accuracy below 1 degree for with-in subject gaze estimation on public synthesis eye image dataset.

Many motor current signature analysis (MCSA) methods have been proposed for the rotor fault diagnosis of induction motor. However, few method provides the quantitative measurement. In this paper, a method is proposed to diagnose rotor fault severity based on the transient current. First, wavelet transform is used to analyze the stator current and detect rotor bars. Then, a curve fitting algorithm is proposed to diagnose the asymmetric rotor condition and give the precaution value and alarm value. Lastly, a fault severity factor is presented based on the two aforementioned values. The proposed method is demonstrated by simulation experiment, which shows that it can give the evaluation of rotor asymmetry and fault severity.

Centrally air conditioned large buildings have been the recent trend for malls, exhibition halls, business parks, and so on. In these high-rise buildings, the intelligent control provides energy efficient means for comfort, safety, and security. Real-time occupancy-based control for HVAC is greatly contributing to energy savings, in addition to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the carbon footprint. This paper proposes an improved architecture using Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) for adaptive control of multi-zone shared spaces in intelligent buildings in respect of user comfort and energy efficiency for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The objective is the improvement in occupant comfort levels. From the simulation results obtained the suitability of IT2FLS to handle the uncertainties related to dynamically varying occupancy patterns is illustrated. Work can be extended to develop a cognitive controller for reducing the dependency on the operator skills for optimized high level control settings.

In view of the need of emergency inspection and temporary inspection for the transmission and distribution lines, the inspectors are required to quickly reach all inspection points. This paper combines Baidu map open platform with Android system, using the improved prim algorithm to propose an intelligent inspection scheme for transmission and distribution lines, which can achieve multi-point patrol path planning of power inspection on Android platform. This scheme overcomes the defects that the mainstream map applications can not scientifically carry on the multi-point path planning, combined with the need of power inspection, making the inspection program more intelligent, handling the multi-point path planning conveniently, and improving the emergency response capability of power inspection departments.

Most of the genetic instructions like growth, development, functioning, reproduction of all human beings are carried out by DNA molecule. The DNA and RNA are both nucleic acids, which contains proteins, carbohydrates, and one of three major types of macromolecule that are essential for all forms of life. In this project, we take the samples of the DNA and do testing and data processing with it. During the process for alignment and variant calling for DNA, we use three types of aligners and three variant callers. The aligners are BWA, BOWTIE, and SNAP. The variant callers are SAMtools.

This paper builds a dynamic and visualized simulation platform with SolidWorks, ADAMS and Matlab, integrated with the achievements our research group obtained before. Based on current researches of stability control strategies and dynamic simulation for humanoid robot and power assisted robot, this study divides the fall process into four stages and proposes stability recovery strategy during different stages, then validates effectiveness through joint simulation platform. The results indicate that the strategies can effectively deal with push from various directions.

The setting of PID parameters is an extremely important problem in the field of automatic control. In this paper, a genetic algorithm is illustrated using MATLAB and SIMULINK to improve the dynamic performance of vector control induction motor. Combining SIMULINK with genetic algorithm shows the correctness and effectiveness of the model of SIMULINK system simulation, and verifies that the performance of the system vector parameters of genetic algorithm optimization of the control system is better than that of the conventional controller.

Most existing water pollution source localization methods via sensor networks focus on two-dimensional pollution source. In this paper a three-dimensional water pollution source localization problem is discussed, and the spatial-temporal Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF) based on concentration samples in time and space is applied to solve the problem. In the simulation part, the performances of the spatial-temporal UKF and the temporal UKF are compared. The simulation results show that the localization based on spatial-temporal UKF performs better and has a higher stability, although the localization results of the methods are affected by the number of sensor nodes.
