. Over time, Europe and Japan have fostered multifaceted relations across various domains. These encompass trade, investment, security cooperation, sustainability, and education. This article aims to shed light on the enduring ties forged through trade, cultural exchanges, and collaborations across diverse domains within the context of geoeconomics, geopolitics, international relations, and sustainability concerns. By leveraging these established ties, a robust foundation can be laid for enhancing cooperation in multiple sectors in the future. Moreover, these conceptual spheres are interconnected, and it is crucial to facilitate their mutual reinforcement going forward. This dynamic significantly influences EU-Japan relations and their role on the global stage, underscoring the paramount significance of collaboration among likeminded nations.

. In contemporary China, ‘experimental architecture’ depicts the rise of independent architectural explorations offered by a group of young Chinese architects in the mid-1990s. These young Chinese architects claimed to have established an autonomous architecture, distant from commercial interventions. This research examines the credibility of architectural autonomy stated by these architects in light of the field theory put forward by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. Through this interdisciplinary perspective, the paper focuses on the often overlooked interpersonal networks of critics, architects, and publishers. Through analysing their roles in promoting these experimental architects on the basis of professional publications, this research argues that the notion of architectural autonomy is constituted by a symbiotic collaboration among these actors through a discursive approach and architectural autonomy, despite indicating an architectural resistance against commercial forces, serves a commodity sold in the cultural market.

. In recent decades, China and Russia decades have adopted accommodation, normalisation and convergence strategies that transformed their cooperation into a comprehensive strategic partnership. Despite having this strategic alignment, several issues still constrain their long-term relations, such as divergent views and assessment of the world order, imbalance in bilateral trade and investment, competition in their respective spheres of influence, Russians’ fear of a Chinese immigrant onslaught, ideological cleavages, and asymmetrical power distribution between the two. This study explains the factors behind their convergence and divergences of interests and its implications for their future relations. While utilising content analysis as the research methodology this study hypothesizes that though the two are engaged in strategic and other partnerships, yet the structural differences will inhibit their long-term cordiality.
