Este articulo examina algunos de los problemas mas actuales del comercio internacional tratando de sacar partido de algunos de los mensajes de Ricardo que en algunos casos resultan ser de mas interes y matices de lo se desprende de que versiones simplificadoras. EnglishDavid Ricardo presented his argument in favour of international trade two centuries ago in a context of rapid technological change and socio-political frictions. Beyond frequent simplifications, the connections between the controversies on international trade and the impacts on the distribution of income occupied a central place in their approaches, as well as the role of trade as a factor of growth whose distributive effects were also central. Nowadays many of these controversies are strongly present. This paper examines some of the most current problems of international trade trying to take advantage of some of Ricardo’s insights that in many cases turn out to be of more interest and nuances than can be inferred from simplifying versions.

Public authorities have played a key role in tourism competitiveness, as this agent is obliged to provide certain infrastructure and services. This has led to incurring certain additional costs that may be financed by contributions from the implementation of fiscal instruments. The objective of the present work is to identify the tourist taxes implemented in the 50 main world tourist destinations. To do this, different official, national and international sources have been consulted. Tourist taxes have been identified in 49 of the 50 main tourist destinations; and have been configured, therefore, as an effective instrument for obtaining the necessary financing.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused one of the most important crises since the Great Depression. In the face of this, greater coordination between monetary and fiscal policies is needed. In this article, the helicopter money proposal has been analyzed as a possible response to the crisis and as a complement to the measures adopted. After describing some historical evidence of the effects of the monetary helicopter, examining the different examples proposed in the literature, and assessing its strengths and weaknesses, a proposal for the eurozone has been articulated through the European Central Bank in cooperation with the European Investment Bank group.

This paper studies the mediating role of cultural values in explaining the total entrepreneurial activity (TEA) and the entrepreneurs’ motivation -differen-tiating opportunity versus necessity motives- in countries with different levels of development. Data for 56 countries coming from the Global Entrepreneur-ship Monitor (GEM) and the Schwartz Value Survey (Schwartz, 1994, 2006b) are analysed using structural equations modelling. The results show that only in higher income countries do Autonomy values boost entrepreneurial activ-ity. Additionally, higher entrepreneurship is found in countries where Egalitari-anism predominates, and the effect becomes stronger as income level rises. Furthermore, the Egalitarianism-Hierarchy dimension is also very relevant in explaining the opportunity/necessity ratio.

espanolLos servicios intensivos en conocimiento (KIS) han sido los que han protagonizado mayor crecimiento a nivel mundial. Entre los factores de exito se encuentran aspectos tan importantes como son sus propios recursos intangibles y la conversion de los mismos en capacidades dinamicas, los cuales les han permitido ser mas flexibles y adoptar nuevas formas de entrada al mercado internacional como son fusiones, adquisiciones, acuerdos de cooperacion, alianzas estrategicas, etc. Asi, el comportamiento de los KIS en el panorama internacional nos hace plantear cuestiones referentes si las teorias de internacionalizacion que, tradicionalmente, se han aplicado a los bienes y servicios, son aplicables a los KIS. Es por ello que nuestro objetivo sera, por un lado, conocer si las teorias de costes de transaccion e internalizacion, el paradigma eclectico y el modelo gradual, se adaptan bien a los KIS y en caso contrario que modificaciones y aspectos relevantes sera necesario considerar para mejorar dicha aplicabilidad. Among the success factors are such important aspects as their own intangible resources and the conversion of these into dynamic capabilities, which have allowed them to be more flexible and adopt new forms of entry into the international market, such as mergers, acquisitions, cooperation agreements, strategic alliances, etc. Thus, the behavior of the KIS on the international scene makes us raise questions concerning whether the internationalization theories that, traditionally, have been applied to goods and services, are applicable to the KIS. That is why our objective will be, on the one hand, to know if the theories of transaction costs and internalization, the eclectic paradigm and the gradual model, are well adapted to the KIS and otherwise what modifications and relevant aspects it will be necessary to consider to improve their applicability.
