CT scan images with metal artefacts may reduce the image quality and diagnosis of CT scan images. Metal Artefact Reduction (MAR) can effectively reduce artifacts caused by metal implants. ASIR-V plays a role in reducing noise and improving image quality. To prove the reduction of metal image artefacts and optimization of CT scan image quality after the application of MAR and ASIR-V (30,60,90) of Head and Neck CT Scan by finding the value of SNR, CNR, anatomical information and the level of metal artefact interference after metal artefact reduction. Quasi-type experimental research design with pre-post test only without control group design. The study sample was 15 CT scan images of head and neck with purposive sampling. SNR and CNR measurements were quantitatively analyzed using the Wilk test, followed by the Wilcoxon test. Anatomical information assessment was performed qualitatively by two radiologists and analyzed by kappa test. Anatomical information and the level of metal artefact interference with CT scan images were carried out by the Friedman test, followed by the Wilcoxon test. There is a difference in SNR Pvalue (p=0.000<0.05), CNR Pvalue (p=0.000>0.05), anatomical information Pvalue (p=0.000<0.05), level of metal artefacts Pvalue (p=0.000<0.05) after using MAR and ASIR V. The use of MAR and ASIR-V methods can reduce metal artefacts in images that contain artefacts with the use of MAR + ASIR-V 90% the most optimal.

Tuberculosis (TB) is still a serious health problem in the world. TB in children is an important indicator of transmission. Tuberculosis in children occurs at the age of 0-14 years. Indonesia has a high burden of TB disease, especially in Banten Province. The global prevalence of TB in 2021 increased by around 600,000 cases compared to 2022 of 10.6 million cases. The purpose of this study is to know, analyze and help solve problems faced by patients. The methods in this report are used to confirm the diagnosis of RO TB based on the Mtb susceptibility test using phenotypic and genotypic TCM and LPA methods. Diagnosis of tuberculosis in suspected TB is carried out by TCM examination. Based on the plotting results, there is a girl with the initials S who is diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and is short in stature, so it is necessary to intervene through a family medicine approach. After intervening holistically and comprehensively, An's complaint. S is showing improvement and is currently still undergoing treatment. The source of TB transmission in An is known to S is thought to come from the patient's grandfather. TB infection experienced by patients has an impact on inhibiting patient growth so that the patient's height and weight do not increase. After thorough treatment and education, the patient's family understands TB disease, transmission, and prevention. It is hoped that treatment can be carried out completely and can achieve age-appropriate growth.

Glaucoma is the leading cause of permanent vision loss worldwide. Because the disease may be asymptomatic until an advanced stage, diagnosis is often delayed.1 An estimated 57.5 million people worldwide develop primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of intraocular pressure reduction in open-angle primary glaucoma patients between monotherapy, double therapy, and triple combination therapy. This study is a type of observational analytical research with a cross sectional approach. Which is a research design in which data collection of both independent and dependent variables and factors that influence them are collected at the same time. The research was conducted at the Eye Clinic of RSPAL dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The population taken was a 53-year-old female patient diagnosed with open-angle primary glaucoma at the Eye Clinic of RSPAL dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The results showed that trabeculectomy had a statistically significant result that was very high on IOP reduction and decrease in the number of antiglaucoma drops. Untreated glaucoma can lead to permanent vision loss or blindness that occurs more quickly. The earlier treatment is given, the more vision loss can be delayed or reduced.

Purpose For Lusophones, saudade is a common psychological experience related with the physical separation from loved ones and/or familiar locations. This study aims to examine the relationships between perception of discrimination, adaptation and saudade. Design/methodology/approach The sample consisted of 655 African migrants from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique living in Portugal with a mean age of 38 years. The average duration of stay in Portugal was 22 years. Findings Results indicated that length of residence impacted the difficulties experienced with saudade: respondents with longer lengths of stay in the society of settlement experienced less difficulty with saudade. As predicted, the results indicated that higher perceptions of discrimination and loneliness correlated positively with experienced saudade, while sociocultural adaptation correlated negatively with experienced saudade. Originality/value Path analysis was conducted to investigate mediation impacts of sociocultural adjustment and loneliness on the relationship between perception of discriminatory events and difficulty with saudade. This study suggests that sociocultural adaptation and loneliness partially mediated the relation between perception of discrimination and saudade. Notwithstanding the low level of perceived discrimination found in this African background sample, this antecedent plays a relevant role in the saudade experienced. This evidence may be useful in targeting programs to improve sociocultural adjustment and to reduce loneliness which may help to alleviate the difficulty with feeling saudade among African migrants.

Since its introduction in 1972, CT Scan technology has developed rapidly from year to year, especially in reducing radiation dose; various technologies have been developed, including dual-energy or dual source technology with a technique of only a quarter of the gantry rotation. The aim of this research is to find out and analyze tin filter variations on noise in the mastoid CT scan protocol using a single source CT scan: phantom study. The method used in this research is Pre-Experimental with Posttest-Only Control Design. The noise value research results showed a difference in noise and SNR values with a p-value (p<0.05), and there was a reduction in radiation dose of 41.95% compared to the standard protocol. NPS values are at a frequency of 0.28, except for the Sn100 protocol. Subjective Analysis by two radiologists with a kappa value of 0.75 indicated that there was a moderate level of agreement. The Tin Filter Sn100 protocol can reduce the radiation dose, and the resulting image quality is good enough for diagnostic purposes, so the Tin Filter Sn100 protocol can be used as a Standard Operational Procedure for Mastoid CT Scan examination at Hermina Depok Hospital. This study has implications that may contribute to refining mastoid CT scanning protocols, leading to improved image quality, reduced radiation exposure, and improved diagnostic capabilities in clinical practice.

Purpose With global migration, the number of ethnic minority and migrant women receiving maternity health care in dominantly Anglo-European societies has increased significantly but they consistently have among the worst pregnancy and maternal outcomes. This paper aims to analyse gaps in structural (migration-related inequalities) and cultural (responsiveness to ethno-cultural practices) competencies among maternal health practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand (NZ). Design/methodology/approach Using a semi-structured interview guide, in-depth interviews were conducted with 13 maternal health practitioners in NZ. Data were analysed using a thematic analysis framework. Findings The results highlight significant barriers around language and communication, cultural stereotyping by professionals, ethnic women’s own constraints around family and cultural expectations and their lack of knowledge about reproductive health. In addition, practitioners’ own ethnic differences are inseparable from their approach to structural and cultural competencies; there were instances of ‘over-’ or ‘under-’ reading of culture, practitioner constructions of ideal pregnancies and anti-racism concerns that shaped maternal care practices that were sensitive to, but also marginalised, ethnic migrant women who attended maternity services. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the only study in NZ that examines the impact of complex dynamics of migration and culture on knowledge, beliefs and values of practitioners, in context of their own personal biographies. Identifying strategies to improve the way diversity is practiced in hospital settings can be transformational in improving maternal outcomes for ethnic migrant women in NZ.

The results of the multi-group analysis stated that in all the relationships studied, there was not enough evidence to accept significant differences in the male and female groups.","PeriodicalId":44967,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Migration Health and Social Care","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136266041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
Oral contrast media usually used in abdominal MSCT examinations are water and contrast media containing iodine. However, there are advantages and disadvantages, so an alternative replacement for natural ingredients is needed, namely green bean juice. This study aims to prove that using mung bean extract can improve MSCT images for oral contrast media in the MSCT Abdomen protocol based on in vitro studies. The research method used was a quasi-experimental study to compare the extent to which mung bean extract improved MSCT images compared to water and contrast media containing iodine as oral contrast media in the Abdomen MSCT protocol based on in vitro studies. Measurement of image enhancement is done by measuring ROI. Furthermore, the measurement results were analyzed using the difference test and a follow-up test, namely the Least Significance Difference (LSD) test. The research results show that green bean juice can improve abdominal MSCT images to be used as an oral contrast medium in the Abdominal MSCT protocol based on in vitro studies. Then, there was a difference in improving the MSCT image when using green bean juice, water, and contrast media containing iodine as oral contrast media in the abdominal MSCT protocol based on in vitro studies, and it was found that there was a difference in the concentration of green bean juice in getting optimal results in the MSCT protocol. Abdomen based on in vitro studies. Conclusion Mung bean extract can be used as an oral contrast medium instead of water because it can improve MSCT images.
