The current study aimed to identify definitions of extremism, its forms, and the reasons for its emergence in societies. In addition to the roots of extremism in the three religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This research studies the role and effects of the 9/11 attacks on the United States as a turning point in modern history and a link between extremism, violence, and global jihad. Al Qaeda as a paradigm. This study uses the descriptive narrative method to describe the characteristics and origins of Islamic extremism and study the attributes of far-right British extremist groups in the UK as a study case. The narrative approach is selected because it is often used to understand individuals and groups better and describe a phenomenon. This study will prove the extent to which extremism directly affects societies and individuals. It also will reveal that extremism often flourishes in environments characterized by social and economic disparities, political instability, ideological polarization, and undemocratic governments. Moreover, the role played by electronic platforms and social networking sites, in addition to mosques and religious sermons, works to facilitate the spread of extremism. Extremist ideologies emerge as a worrying contemporary challenge. The thesis emphasizes the importance of precise and context-specific strategies to combat extremism, emphasizing the need for collaboration between governments, civil society, and technology providers. In conclusion, this research contributes to the academic understanding of extremism, provides a general knowledge of its motivations, and gives recommendations to face it. By comprehensively addressing the root causes and manifestations of extremism, it advocates for holistic approaches that foster inclusivity, education, and social cohesion as essential components in mitigating the impact of extremist ideologies on global society.

Introduction: Drug consumption is a serious and multicausal phenomenon that daily intensifies and modifies the relationship with the reality of the human being because it stimulates the pleasure circuit and makes consumers seek rewards in the increase of the same, which triggers a dependence that affects the individual, family and social level. This reward circuit can be modified to the extent that the consumption of any drug is definitively avoided. Objective: To determine the frequency of drug use among adults in therapeutic communities in Ecuador. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study with a sample of 480 intentionally selected adult drug users in Ecuador, by non-probabilistic sampling, with a 95% confidence interval. Results: Concerning the frequency of consumption of drugs such as tobacco, alcohol, coca, inhalants, tranquilizers, hallucinogens and opioids, the level of significance with the sociodemographic variables of the study is less than 0.05, so the variables are dependent, and there is a significant relationship between them. Conclusions: The study showed that the frequency of drug use is associated with sociodemographic variables with a statistical association and a significance level equal to or less than 0.05.

This study focuses on evaluating the relevance of financial tools in the progress of microenterprises in the rural parishes of La Esperanza. Understanding these tools is essential as they go beyond innovation, enabling sustainable business growth. The article highlights crucial instruments such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow, critical to the advancement of any for-profit or non-profit organization. The research adopts a qualitative methodology, supported by deductive, inductive and bibliographic methods. These approaches provide essential information for the development of research. The findings reveal that some companies, when incorporated with the SRI, lack adequate tax management, managing it empirically. Business transactions result in monthly losses, with high or no VAT returns. In addition, the payment of the 2% income tax during the semester is done inadequately due to ignorance of the necessary financial statements. Microenterprises in La Esperanza lack an understanding of financial tools, resulting in an inability to plan for the long term. These findings highlight internal weaknesses, evidencing that financial management is limited to a basic budget, resulting in monthly losses.

The main objective of the research was to outline the dominant and descended dimensions in a perception instrument, taking as a factor, the declared gender. The sample is random and the sample size reaches 235 university students. The study is based on a quantitative approach, its level of depth is descriptive and inferential, with a prospective, cross-sectional and non-experimental register. The Teaching Climate Scale Conducive to University Student Learning [ECAFEU] was used as a data collection instrument. The main results, after the respective factor analysis, give evidence of dimensional validity, whose factor loads for each item are significant to the corresponding factor. As a methodological strategy, the ECAFEU index is defined, from which 3 types of perception are identified, these being: positive, neutral or negative, the concept of dominance is also considered, referring to the dominant and descended dimension, in such a way as to generate a tool for guidance in decision-making. Regarding those students categorized as having a positive perception, the dominant dimension is dialogic communication between teachers and students, and the most descended dimension is represented by Environmental Conditions. The teaching modality (day and evening) is considered as a study factor, establishing significant effects in the configuration of dominance and in the ECAFEU index.

Given the need to achieve economic development while preserving environmental quality, our main objective in this article is to study the impact of economic growth on the ecological footprint in the G7 countries (Italy, France, Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany) over the period 1961-2018. By studying the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) using the dynamic ARDL panel, we found that the relationship between EFP (ecological footprint) and GDP is N-shaped. In the renewable Kuznets curve (RKC), we found a U-shaped relationship. The international investment position and debt then contribute to pollution, and the consumption of renewable energy reduces CO2 emissions. However, additional efforts are needed to promote renewable energy in the countries analyzed.

Companies consider fixed assets as the largest investments that belong to them, so it is important that each company has controls over these fixed assets, whether internal or external, because in this way information of great importance can be collected to make decisions, this type of inspections are carried out the Office of the Comptroller, executed in accordance with the Ecuadorian Standards of Government Auditing, the regulations, manuals, instructions, guides, among others, issued by the Comptroller General of the State, etc. This research carried out a bibliographic review of scientific articles related to the proper management of assets; It used the information of the Internal Control Standards of the Office of the Comptroller General of State regarding fixed assets and other regulatory and control bodies, in addition a survey was carried out to a part of the population of this municipality, which is made up of 50 participants in the management of fixed assets. The results obtained show that more than 50% of employees consider that the entity has an efficient management of fixed assets and agree that they are a fundamental part of the financial structure, since the useful life of the assets is calculated at the time of their entry and permanence. To conclude, a correct use and management of fixed assets improves the public procurement process, because when carrying out control and monitoring, it is taken into account whether suppliers should be kept or changed, if companies are offering good quality goods and guarantees.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the use peer-to-peer lending platforms in Indonesia by integrating Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Trust, and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). Theoretical framework: The theory of this study is Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Trust, and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). Design/methodology/approach: The paper opted for an exploratory study using survey approach. 211 respondents were selected using snowball sampling to people who know about P2P Lending and have or were using the services provided by the platforms. Data analysis used Structural Equation Model-PLS by Smart-PLS 3.0 software Findings: The results show that self-efficacy is dominant in directly shaping individual’s behavioral intention for using P2P Lending and indirectly creating perceived ease of use. In theoretical perspective, the findings provide empirical evidences that the behavior of individuals in using information technology is determined by several factors included in the integrated model, by which literatures in system usage behavior are enriched. Research, Practical & Social implications: The study also contributes to practices by providing considerations for the government in their effort of making policies related to online loans and for service providers in updating their technology. Originality/value: This study identifies factors influencing the behavioral intention of lenders and borrowers to use P2P Lending through integration of three models: Technology Acceptance Model, Theory of Trust, and Social Cognitive Theory.
