In this paper, Characterization of different unconventional pulping raw materials was carried out. The studies was done in terms of their contents in ash content, cellulose, ethanol–benzene solubility, , hollocelulose, lignin and hot water and 1% soda solubility was carried out. The use of blending of long fibered pulps with short fibered pulp is an important aspect of paper making .Morphological and Chemical nature of hard and soft wood are in many ways different from each other. Soft wood lack certain factors such as drainage, wet strength and press rolls tendency of sticking. To overcome these issues blending plays an important role. Pulp blending can be done in three distinct ways chips blending, pulp blending before beating and pulp blending after beating. Before pulp beating the properties improves the physical strength marginally. But after beating at 1500 revolutions in a PFI helps to improve the strength properties and resulted in increased pulp yields column.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of therapeutic or sensory gardens in the behavioral and learning aspects of children with autistic disabilities. To understand the same, a total of 30 students between the age group of 4 to 10 were examined from an autism school in Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu. The study was conducted through observational analysis and structured interviews with doctors, caregivers, and teachers of the school. The result shows that sensory gardens have a considerable impact on autistic children as it helps them in improving their communication skills and positive behavioral changes. The study also shows that the sensory gardens enhance the learning focus in autistic children and the guidelines based on the same have been formulated.

ABSTRACT Scheduling is one critical issue both in the field of industry engineering and combinatorial optimization research. In order to solve multi-objective scheduling problem with uncertainty, this paper presents a method of enhanced hybrid Estimation of Distribution Algorithm (EDA) with Teaching and Learning-Based Optimization Algorithm (TLBO). First, in order to concentrate their respective advantages, two algorithms of EDA and TLBO are integrated to enhance the capability of both global and local search. Second, scenario-based simulation is adopted to deal with uncertainty, and an adaptive sampling strategy is involved to dynamically adjust the number of scenarios during the evolving process. Third, a problem-specific local search is designed to further improve the optimality of candidate solutions. By comparing with existing algorithms on the benchmark problems of flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP), it is to demonstrate that our proposal can obtain better solutions in the aspects of optimality and computational efficiency.

ABSTRACT In the field of marketing, business and finance, the rise and fall and the associated bifurcations can be better interpreted with the aid of differential equations and the dynamical systems. The differential equations, when Incorporated with the delayed dynamics can interpret the financial delays in more realistic manner. The parametric approximation of such differential equations can be achieved with the aid of robust optimization tool, that is termed as the genetic algorithm. In this manuscript, the concept of delay is invoked with the aid of specific factors linked with the raise and fall of investment frequency in the field of fashion industry and the corresponding stability is modeled with the aid of detailed dynamical analysis. The stability and instability criteria of delay differential equations, governing the dynamics of the investment trends is reported in this manuscript. The bifurcation and their relative criteria of occurrence is discussed. The Hopf bifurcation is important since with the aid of the bifurcation analysis, one can obtain a region of instability, and can thus invest in a safer manner by avoiding such circumstances.

ABSTRACT This paper proposes a bi-objective capacitated vehicle routing problem with two types of customers based on priority. The priority customers must be served earlier compared to non-priority customers. This paper aims to minimize the total distance traveled by all the vehicles and minimize customers’ average latency. This paper considers three scenarios for the average latency calculation based on the customer type. In the first scenario, this paper considers only priority customers’ average latency. The second scenario considers the latency of all customers, ignoring the priority. The third scenario considers the average latency of all customers, but priority customers must be served first. A hybrid metaheuristic based on Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) and Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGAII) is developed to solve the proposed model. The proposed model is solved for some of the benchmark data sets from VRP literature, and finally, the results are analyzed with the help of some performance metrics.

ABSTRACT This research aims to assess the organisational readiness and maturity of continuous improvement (CI) deployment in a medical device manufacturer. A single case study approach was used, in an Irish medical device company with 500 indirect staff members. The data were collected through a quantitative survey, and results were used to provide practical measures and assessment of readiness and inform the future development of the CI initiative. This case study demonstrates that CI deployment practice is consistent with literature findings and that employee motivation, employee empowerment and employee knowledge, management commitment, CI linked to strategy and communication of CI strategy are all key enablers for sustained CI deployment and success. Despite being within a highly regulated industry, there was an overall positive culture of acceptance and embracing of CI methods and initiatives within this organisation. The study presents a practical approach to assessing organisational readiness and maturity for CI to identify areas of strength that can be used as cornerstones of an initiative and areas that would benefit from further development prior to implementation.

This study aims to find out emotional intelligence and its relationship with marital adjustment among parents of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and how the child's level of ADHD is affecting parent’s emotional intelligence and marital adjustment. Parents completed a range of questionnaires in Kerala-wide study of 30 parents of children with ADHD. The relationship between emotional intelligence and marital adjustment and child level of ADHD were tested using correlational method. A positive correlation was found between emotional intelligence and marital adjustment among the parents and there was no effect of child’s level of ADHD on parent’s level of emotional intelligence and marital adjustment.
