In recent years, public and global health officials have come to the consensus that fostering sustainable eating habits is a crucial step towards preserving healthcare outcomes worldwide. This publication aims to explore the advent of new cell-based meat (CBM) and plant-based meat (PBM) alternatives, and their capacity to improve the health and wellbeing of global populations. These products present consumers with replacements for animal-based meat (ABM), a staple aspect of diets worldwide. CBM and PBM can be applied toward the production of animal products, allowing global communities to utilize more sustainable farming techniques. They can reduce the health impacts of climate change and also provide healthier alternatives to ABM. However, potent obstacles when it comes to the production, development and marketing of these products may impede upon their capacity to truly benefit the health of people and the planet. But if CBM and PBM can overcome these challenges, these feats of bioengineering may provide the world’s growing population a healthier and more sustainable diet.

Despite the extensive research within the cryonics field dating back to the early twentieth century, very little is known regarding its paired legal and ethical complications. Resulting of society's expansive fundamental ways, the community within modern times has expanded tenfold and scientific research such as cryonics has too. This study analyzes the vast legal implications that came from the increasingly popular yet prolonged use of cryonics within everyday life. Through imperative law, this study analyzes the ethical standards of the rising practice of cryonics by referencing past court cases ranging from American and global policies, laws, and amendments. An analysis of such documents yields a common justifiable explanation for cryonics' justified legal position and its inadvertent ethical protections. This study is part of a growing body of research reflecting American and foreign perspectives on the rising practice of cryonics within modern society. In analyzing a large source of legal policy within American and foreign affairs, this study will contribute to further analysis and research on cryonics.

The following paper outlines the correlation between economic growth and sustainability and women’s rights in many countries throughout the world and how this can have an impact on the women around the world. It also looks at the issue of women’s rights and women empowerment from three different perspectives in order to understand why women empowerment is not encourages and isolate the root of the issue. Finally it ties the perspectives together and shows how economic sustainability could be reached through better women empowerment and why each perspective should play a role.

Syria had more than 11 years of conflicts, where armed forces severely violated International Humanitarian Law. The time the law becomes applicable and the lack of sanctions after violating the International Humanitarian Law caused limited compliance with the law. Despite the limitations, International Humanitarian Law is still effective in protecting and encouraging the humanitarian works of the International Committee of the Red Cross and setting the legal framework to limit the degree of conflicts. Based on the limitations, this paper will provide some sound suggestions to improve compliance with the law.

The World Health Organization defines mental health conditions to “include mental disorders and psychosocial disabilities as well as other mental states associated with significant distress, impairment in functioning, or risk of self-harm” (World Health Organization, 2022b). There has been an increasing trend of mental health conditions, specifically depression and anxiety, among adolescents (Racine et al., 2021). Previous studies typically look at the reverse effect (e.g. the effect of a worsening economy on adolescent mental health) or a more generalized effect (e.g. the effect of mental health conditions among all age groups on the whole economy). This review seeks to quantify the costs and effect on future employment status which adolescent mental health conditions have. While this review examines overall mental health conditions, it also specifies depression, anxiety, and psychological distress, along with general areas of mental health problems. Previous literature from the United States, Australia, and several European countries were reviewed using Google Scholar on costs on the indicators above. The results indicate that mental health conditions among adolescents increase costs to families and society while also hurting future employment status, and different types of mental health conditions have different levels of effects. Finally, we suggest specific areas needed for improvement in order to minimize the economic harms of mental health conditions in the researched areas.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the success of concussion protocols and accommodations, focusing on what factors were most influential. The approach will be a qualitative one, involving the use of open-ended questions and interviews to extract subjective responses. This approach was taken to encourage authentic answers and data. It concludes with an analysis of the data which reveals that while academic accommodations are beneficial, concussion protocols are not.

Due to global warming and human activity, the coral population has decreased by 50% since the 1950s. (Wetzel, 2021). Many policies have been placed on conserving the coral reefs, but more is needed to stop the rapid decline. All around the world, different researchers performed multiple types of restoration methods to try and reverse the damage and destruction the coral reef ecosystem has sustained. This paper reviews the other restoration methods researchers have tried and are currently trying to review their effectiveness in reversing the damage to coral reefs. Restoration methods can be divided into active and passive restoration methods. The methods reviewed are removing invasive algae, coral gardening, substrate manipulation, and stabilization, larval propagation, direct transplantation, substratum enhancement with electricity, and cryopreservation. All in all, all of these methods have their respective strengths and weaknesses. The method that can move forward to be more mass-produced would be direct transplantation, as additions such as nurseries are unnecessary. The restoration method that has shown the most promise has been substratum enhancement with electricity, but since the method is still relatively new, further research is needed. A possible recommendation for future coral reef restoration endeavors is to combine restoration methods to make up for the flaws of each method and incorporate long-term monitoring.

The principal objective of this investigation was to explore the impact of the philosophy of transcendentalism on Henry David Thoreau’s perspectives on consumerist principles as described in a Life without Principle. In this study, the impact of transcendentalism was examined through the lenses of industrialization, consumerism, and capitalism. The transcendentalist elements of individualism, denouncing large institutions, refuge in nature, rejection of conformity, and free religious practice were analyzed to determine the impact the philosophy had on Henry David Thoreau. By analyzing industrialization through the transcendentalist lens, it became clear Thoreau rejected environmental degradation and strict religious rules. The negative impacts of the materialistic mindset, historically heightened by the Gold Rush, and social conformity became evident through the study of consumerism. Additionally, instrumental reasoning and political atomism espoused in the economic ideology of capitalism were rejected by Thoreau. This study provides evidence that transcendentalist elements led Thoreau to value nature, reject large societal institutions and collectivization, and conclude that consumerism promoted meaningless purchasing cycles.

This paper provides an economic appraisal of blockchain technology's impact on the two representative pillars of an economic system: finance and market competition. It is argued that although cryptocurrencies designed upon blockchain technology are perceived as alternative currencies and speculative financial assets today, their roles are limited in the economic sense. However, blockchain technology can promote market competition in the internet sector by the virtue of decentralization. In comparison to the highly concentrated market power of current internet companies, new dynamics of market competition based on Web3 are discussed.
