This article examines contemporary narratives about adult survivors of child sexual abuse within Australian peer-reviewed literature since 2017. A feminist study, using a scoping literature review method, gathered 15 articles that were descriptively and thematically analysed. The first two themes highlighted the ongoing dominance of patriarchal-informed paradigms of medicine, psychology and psychiatry that reproduce narratives of harm and responsibility. In contrast, the final theme identifies alternate narratives that construct diversity and nuance of adult survivors’ experiences, which have implications for social work and human services research and practice in Australia, and elsewhere, where similar patriarchal norms persist.

Participatory Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns are highly valued for enhancing engagement and behavioural change among its stakeholders. This study evaluated the ‘Say No to Single-Use Plastic’ campaign, implemented by 200 social work students in collaboration with a Public Sector Undertaking and a University Social Work College. The study used a qualitative approach and thematic analysis and further evaluated the campaign through four theoretical lenses. Key findings included increased environmental awareness, stakeholder engagement, behavioural shifts and sustainability challenges. The study offers insights for social work practice and social care policy by advocating for institutional support of community-led CSR initiatives promoting environmental responsibility.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the key Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies which is taking over in various facets of life. However, although it has permeated various fields and professions, there has been a paucity of research aimed at investigating the potential use of AI in social work. This qualitative study sought to explore the potential role of AI in social work, using explorative and descriptive designs. Data from social workers and social work academics were collected through semi-structured in-person and virtual interviews. This study has found that AI can play an enduring role in social work.

International social work research and global collaborations offer opportunities to share knowledge, better understand social problems, engage in comparative analysis and work collectively to examine possible solutions. This Research Note reports on key lessons learnt from leading the Aotearoa New Zealand branch of a global study focused on working conditions and well-being of social workers. Addressing contextual differences including language and expression, local partnerships and ethical considerations, the critical reflections share strategies used in the pursuit of respecting diversity while communicating local value within a global study.

This article discusses the demands placed on social work by the digitalization of society. Examining social work as a modern professional system in the framework of the structural–functional theory of professions, the challenge of digitalization is mirrored against the background of international professional standards of social work. As a conclusion, it is suggested that the purposeful development of social work as a professional system in the information-intensive era requires the integration of the field into national innovation systems as well as significant contribution from the international research community of social work to the study of the effects and challenges of digitalization.

Against the backdrop of global commitments towards achieving gender equity as reflected in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this paper explores how social work engages with menstruation in peer-reviewed literature. A scoping review was conducted using systematic methods, producing a dataset of 25 papers. Data analysis revealed that menstrual experiences – despite being characterised by injustice – is an under-represented issue in social work discourse. The findings emphasise a need for the profession to engage in transformative social work research and practice to prioritise menstrual justice and equity and to extend the profession’s contributions to global priorities.
