This study examines lean tools and techniques based on their awareness, usage, effectiveness, and possible future adoption between Large Firms and Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) in Malaysian organizations. Currently, there are no such data has been found in Malaysia to compare the lean tools and techniques implementation for both firms to help the organization to know what the best lean tools and techniques for their nature of businesses. An online survey was conducted in this study using a questionnaire to gather data from 114 respondents from 14 states, and the results were analysed using the IBM SPSS statistical software. The results of the survey showed that there were no significant differences (p<0.05) between both large firms and small medium enterprise (SMEs) organizations for the majority of lean tools and techniques. Study findings, however, show that Malaysian Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) adopt some lean tools and techniques more often than large organizations. It is important for managers to know the current levels of awareness for lean tools and techniques based on their nature of business to help them adopt and consequently improve their knowledge of lean tools and techniques which is lacking.

Electroplating is a process that produces a metal coating on a solid substrate through the reduction of cations using a direct electric current. The reasons for plating vary from decorative and aesthetic purposes to enhance coating properties and improve the corrosion rate of the metal. Currently, there are not many finishing techniques that serve the purposes of various functional applications and aesthetic appeal. Thus, the electroplating process stands out as one of those surface finishing techniques that can impact peculiar properties. This procedure transfers the desired metal coating from an anode to a cathode, which is the part to be plated. In this project, a carbon substrate acts as the cathode, while a copper sheet functions as the anode. A non-cyanide solution that is environmentally friendly is developed to produce a Cu-Sn-Zn alloy. The project aims to prepare Cu-Zn-Sn alloys by the electroplating process. Overall, the results show that the best current density and time used for electroplating are 0.7 Acm-2 and 30 minutes, respectively.

In Malaysia's transition to a cashless economy, e-wallet technologies are emerging to replace traditional cash transactions. However, the continued preference for cash among many puts into question the behavioural intention of the people in adopting e-wallet. This study focused on the youth behavioural intention particularly undergraduate students at private university. As those attending private universities are often overlooked. This study employs the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to comprehend the factors influencing young individuals' intent to embrace e-wallet usage in Malaysia. Five independent variables were analysed: perceived usefulness, consumer confidence, price value, facilitating factors, and social influence. A total of 484 respondents participated in the study, providing valuable insight into this target group’s mindset. Results revealed a significant relationship between perceived utility, consumer confidence, and social influence with the intention to adopt e-wallets, while price value and facilitating conditions showed negligible impact. To promote e-wallet usage, it is suggested that universities and government organisations in Malaysia focus strategies on enhancing these behavioural intentions to accept digital payments.

Coconut shell was chosen as a raw material to synthesize activated carbon through physical and chemical activation methods and to evaluate the performance of methylene blue treatment Physical activation method was done by heating the coconut shell in the furnace at 400°C and the chemical activation method was done by using phosphoric acid. Prepared coconut-shell activated carbon (CSAC) was analysed using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to determine the presence of functional groups and their composition. Methylene blue (MB) was chosen as a dye that can be considered as a major pollutant in textile industries’ wastewater. It is a toxic and carcinogenic dye that is harmful to organisms that are exposed to or consumed. The adsorption method using CSAC was used to treat methylene blue due to its higher MB removal efficiency. In this study, methylene blue samples were treated using different dosages of CSAC (15g, 20g, 25g). Color removal (CR%) analysis, COD analysis, and turbidity analysis were done to evaluate the performance of CSAC on methylene blue treatment. 95.59%, 97.40%, and 98.23% of color removal (CR%) were achieved using CSAC dosages of 15g, 20g, and 25g respectively. For COD analysis, 55.41%, 64.33%, and 80.25% of COD removal (%) were achieved when 15g, 20g and 25 g of CSAC dosages were used. 81.48%, 85.19%, and 92.59% of turbidity removal (%) were achieved using CSAC dosages of 15g, 20g, and 25 g respectively. Hence, the adsorption process of MB increases when the dosage of CSAC increases due to surface areas present in the sample.
