A proposed method for predicting extreme design forces of wave energy converters 提出了一种预测波浪能转换器极限设计力的方法

This paper proposes to utilize a Generalized Gamma distribution for fitting the significant wave height data in order to more accurately calculate the sea state parameter distribution tails. The accuracy of the proposed method has been demonstrated based on the fittings to two ocean wave data sets. This proposed method has subsequently been utilized for deriving a 50-year environmental contour line. The engineering significance of using a more reliable contour line such as the one derived using the proposed method for predicting the long-term design force values for wave energy converters has been highlighted.

A Model of the Costs for Tidal Range Power Generation Schemes 潮差发电方案的成本模型

Tidal range power is gaining recognition as a globally important power source replacing unsustainable fossil fuels and helping mitigate the climate change emergency. Great Britain (GB) is ideally situated to exploit tidal power but currently has no operational schemes. Schemes are large and expensive to construct, assessment of their costs is usually examined under conditions of commercial confidentiality. A national strategy for delivery needs a more open system that allows cost estimates to be compared between schemes; a model that evaluates the capital cost of major components has been developed. In 1983, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) published a simple additive model of the costs of tidal range schemes on the east coast of the USA. Their model has been updated and benchmarked against recent schemes with published costs; the Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station (South Korea, completed in 2011) was used along with the published costs for the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon proposal in South Wales to benchmark the model. There are developments in civil and mechanical engineering that may influence both the costs and speed of deployment. These are discussed along with methods for their inclusion into the model. Knowledge and skills required to set up and operate clean energy communities 建立和运营清洁能源社区所需的知识和技能

An appropriate set of skills and knowledge is required to establish and operate clean energy communities (ECs). In most cases, building an EC is a team effort and it is very important not to neglect or undervalue the skills of the people involved. This paper identifies the knowledge and skills required to create and operate an EC. To this end, ten case studies of clean energy communities in six European countries are examined. The study concludes that skills can be divided into two categories – technical (hard skills) and non-technical (mainly soft skills). Pre-existing technical skills are necessary but not sufficient to create and operate energy communities. The study also focuses on learning and knowledge management and sharing within and outside communities, with an emphasis on learning by doing.

As renewable energy applications rapidly grow it is essential to seek out low-cost and highly efficient large-scale energy storage systems and materials to resolve the sporadic nature of renewable energy resources. Vanadium-based systems such as vanadium redox flow batteries have recently gained much attention. This paper provides a concise overview of the subject of vanadium and its application in redox flow batteries. Compared to other energy storage systems, it is certain that vanadium and its applications in redox flow batteries is well-positioned to lead a significant part of the stationary energy storage market in the coming decades owing to its many advantages.

Recommissioning methodology for the evaluation of airport air conditioning systems 机场空调系统评估的重新调试方法

The commissioning processes of new buildings, existing buildings and continuous commissioning have been important tools to identify low performance and high energy consumption problems, contributing to its solutions, energy conservation and the research of more efficient systems. Considering the important participation of air conditioning systems in the energy consumption of buildings, this article presents the proposed methodology in study based on the recommissioning concepts to evaluate the operational and energy performance of these systems. The methodology is demonstrated through its application at an airport air conditioning system in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The operational data collected daily are used to demonstrate the phases of the proposed methodology. The evaluation of the system was performed by the process capability analysis, operational mode in use and performance coefficient (COP). As result, improvement opportunities were identified, with COP growth from 5.95 to 6.84 and reduction of energy consumption on chillers by up to 13.0%. Finally, the results showed in its comparison with the reference values, raised in the bibliography, allowed to conclude that the proposed methodology is suitable for direct application in similar systems, such as shopping malls and airport terminals. With some adaptation it can be expanded to other ventures.

Wind simulation using different parameters in a weather research and forecasting model 在天气研究和预报模式中使用不同参数的风模拟

A study designed different parameter schemes for a weather research and forecasting model to simulate hourly winter and summer wind speed and direction at a wind-farm tower in China. The schemes were found to reproduce the local wind conditions accurately and simulate wind direction very well. The results showed that one scheme performed better for the wind speed and wind direction simulation at 10 m and 90 m heights in the winter, while another performed better for simulation at 10 m height in the summer. The results for these schemes showed that the correlation coefficient of wind speed and wind direction was 0.75 and 0.62 in winter and 0.55 and 0.44 in summer, respectively. Overall the parameterised model exhibited better simulation of the wind speed than wind direction, and was better in winter than in summer.

Global and local aspects of world energy consumption: forecast and risks 世界能源消耗的全球和地方方面:预测和风险

The purpose of this study is to form a forecast of energy consumption at the global level in the long term, taking into account sectoral changes and the identification of possible deviation limits. Projections of total energy consumption at the global level, as well as by sector, were based on correlation analysis, autoregressive modeling, and cluster analysis. The scientific contribution of this study is the formed forecast of energy consumption by regions and sectors until 2050, which is supplemented by clustering. Based on the developed forecasts of global energy consumption with a geographical distribution, the simulated results show that there is a slight increase in energy consumption in Europe compared to the other regions under study. The most significant increase in energy consumption is predicted in the Middle East. The study indicates the risk of exceeding the volume of energy consumption compared to the forecasts of international organizations, which were formed in previous years. The clustering showed the possible stratification of the world community in the context of energy consumption, which signals the migration of values of countries in the context of energy supply and increasing sustainability of the external environment.

The scientific contribution of this study is the formed forecast of energy consumption by regions and sectors until 2050, which is supplemented by clustering. Based on the developed forecasts of global energy consumption with a geographical distribution, the simulated results show that there is a slight increase in energy consumption in Europe compared to the other regions under study. The most significant increase in energy consumption is predicted in the Middle East. The study indicates the risk of exceeding the volume of energy consumption compared to the forecasts of international organizations, which were formed in previous years. Comparison of waste heat recovery exchangers of furnace combusted with different fuels 不同燃料燃烧炉余热回收换热器的比较

This work compares the low-temperature waste heat recovery exchangers of glass melting furnaces using liquid natural gas (LNG), methanol, and dimethyl ether (DME) as the fuel has been investigated. A glass melting furnace with 1t/year was used to combust the fuel with air, and the waste heat exchanger was served to recover the heat from the flue gas at a low temperature to preheat the air. The net present value (NPV) and CO2 emission acted as the evaluating parameter of the heat exchangers. The results showed that the methanol combustion program gave the maximum NPV and CO2 emission. The LNG combustion program gave the least ones, and the parameters in the DME combustion program are always in the middle. Considering the income of the heat exchanger and CO2 emission, the glass melting furnace with DME being the fuel is the most optimal program.
