The paper presents the materials of the study of the influence of osteopathic treatment on the "starting pains" and the volume of knee joint movements in patients with bilateral stage II gonarthrosis. Forty-two patients aged 45 to 55 years participated in the study. According to results of the study against the background of combined (osteopathic + allopathic) treatment an increase in flexion-extension amplitude in the knee joints (by 17.5º in the right knee and 20º in the left knee joint) was registered compared to the group receiving only allopathic treatment. There was a statistically significant decrease in the level of pain in both groups.

Pain syndromes of cervical osteochondrosis are among the most common in neurological practice. The complex anatomic and physiological features of the cervical spine result in a variety of clinical syndromes in case of cervical osteochondrosis. The clinical features of the formation of refl ex and compression syndromes of cervical steochondrosis were identifi ed as a result of the examination. In patients with refl ex pain syndromes, the distribution of pain over the sclerotome and myotome areas (myosclerotome pain) and the absence of motor and sensory disorders were characteristic. Patients with compression radicular syndrome featured the distribution of pain sensation over dermatome areas, motor disturbances in the form of muscle paresis or hypotonia, corresponding myotome, decrease or absence of corresponding tendon refl exes, and sensory disturbances in the dermatome area of the aff ected radicle.

An analysis of the clinical and neurological fi ndings showed that the main diff erence between refl ex spondylogenic syndromes and compression syndromes was the presence of prolapse symptoms in the form of signifi cant prevalence of the loss of tendon and periosteal refl exes as well as sensory and motor disorders of the segmental type. Moreover, autonomic-trophic disturbances with lateralization toward the pain syndrome in the form of sympathetic and angiospastic disturbances were defi nitely more frequent (p < 0.05) in refl ex spondylogenic pain syndromes, while in compressive ones, neurodystrophic disturbances prevailed. Lumbar spine pathology was signifi cantly more common in men. The leading risk factors were weight lifting and uncoordinated movement (36% and 11.5%, respectively). Clinical manifestations of compression radicular syndromes were defi nitely more frequent (p < 0.05) in the lumbar spine. At the same time, compression syndromes featured greater severity of clinical manifestations in the form of the predominance of pain, muscle-tonic and statodynamic, autonomic and trophic disorders. The level of radicular compression syndrome corresponds to the level of the pathomorphological substrate. The presence of the pathomorphological substrate may remain clinically insignifi cant for a long time and manifest itself only under certain conditions (venous stasis, edema, aseptic infl ammation).

The article off ers a pattern for describing hemodynamics and cerebrospinal fl uid circulation of the CNS on the basis of modern studies of the CSF dynamic parameters. This description, in familiar terminology of the heart function, relies on the evolutionary foundation of the organism, the CSM, and provides insight into the complex interrelationships of the CNS control.

The article presents materials of a study of the effect of osteopathic treatment on the parameters of hemodynamics, respiratory function, and the duration of the respiratory support for newborns with respiratory distress syndrome. The study involved 28 children in need of respiratory support and surfactant administration. According to the results of the study, against the background of osteopathic treatment, a significant reduction in the duration of respiratory support and newborns' stay in the intensive care unit was observed.

The article offers a description of an urgent medical problem that has been actively considered for several years as an interdisciplinary problem. By considering the formation of non-syndromic craniosynostosis in young children as a version of disorder of the bone tissue modeling/remodeling process [3], the author describes methods of solving the problem of osteogenesis management in cranial sutures in young children. Their distinctive feature is that this problem is formulated and solved from the position of biomechanics as a problem of strain control over the entire body volume or a part of it only.
