The objective of this research is to analyze the link between social media and narcissistic tendencies in Pakistani youth by analyzing approval-seeking behaviours, peer comparisons, and positive feedback. This study analyzes how social media influences the development of narcissistic tendencies in young Pakistanis. A purposively selected sample of participants was interviewed in semi-structured interviews as part of the data-gathering process for this qualitative study. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze semi-structured interviews. The results identified a direct link between narcissistic traits and the desire for social media acceptance. Positive online feedback boosts self-esteem but may lead to increased self-focus. To address the influence of social media on narcissistic tendencies in young people in Pakistan, it is recommended to implement specific interventions, enhanced digital literacy, and mental health support programs.

Two routes of diffusion emerged during the height of the translation and dissemination of Chinese Buddhist sutras, from the Wei, Jin, Southern, and Northern Dynasties to the Tang Dynasty: the translation of elite Buddhism and the popularization of folk Buddhism. The Collection of the Six Perfections, a model for the translation works, introduced Buddhism into China by interpreting traditional Buddhist texts through the lens of Confucian philosophy. The Jataka stories were also associated with the spread of folk Buddhism, which preached to the public in a way that was seen as acceptable. These two paths enhanced one another and paved the way for the growth of Buddhism and the Jatakas in China. The appropriate method for this research study are the qualitative research techniques and the field work method. The results of article show the Buddhists texts in China were translated which were made localized to disseminate it according to the Chinese society.

Tourism specifically ecotourism has been considered as an alternative approach to enhance community benefits vis-a-vis protection of natural and cultural heritage in the indigenous settlements. This study considers a case of indigenous communities from the high Himalayan settlements, such as the Everest region, to examine the perceived community impacts of tourism on Sherpa culture, heritage and architecture and explore whether local cultural heritage has been preserved or deteriorated with the growth of tourism. It has adopted a qualitative approach with descriptive and explanatory methods employing multiple tools of data collection such as household’s survey, key informants interview, participant observation, informal discussion with local residents and archival research for examining the socio-cultural impacts of tourism. The survey results revealed that tourism has induced both positive and negative impacts on architecture, heritage and socio-cultural attributes of local residents. Although tourism has improved the local economic condition as well as social facilities and infrastructure in the settlements; the authenticity and significance of local culture, traditions and architectural heritage have been severely threatened by the rapid growth of tourism. The unplanned and uncontrolled growth of tourism along with lack of education and awareness among residents and tourism stakeholders about conservation of local cultural heritage are responsible for the deterioration of cultural heritage. In addition, lack of proper by-laws and control on the construction of private buildings, and no specific attention towards continuing the vernacular architecture, and cultural practices has pushed Sherpa communities towards crisis of cultural identity and authenticity. This study suggests formulating comprehensive policies of conservation of local cultural heritage and sustainable tourism and adopting an inclusive planning approach to promote sustainable community development in the Himalayas.

This article aims to investigate the perceptions and beliefs surrounding witchcraft in Bardiya District, shedding light on the contemporary understanding of this complex phenomenon. The belief in witchcraft has been around for centuries, and it is still prevalent in many cultures today. Bardiya District in Nepal is a unique place to study witchcraft because it has a diverse population with a variety of beliefs about witchcraft. By employing a sociocultural analysis, the study explores the local attitudes, experiences, and social dynamics related to witchcraft in this particular region of Nepal. Through qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, and participant observations, the article seeks to uncover the underlying factors influencing the perception of witchcraft, its impact on individuals and communities, and potential socio-psychological implications. The findings of this research contribute to a broader understanding of how witchcraft is perceived and navigated within Bardiya District, thereby enabling the development of culturally sensitive interventions and initiatives to address misconceptions and promote social harmony. A recent study in Bardiya District found that a significant percentage of people believe in witchcraft. The study also found that there is a relationship between religious affiliation and belief in witchcraft. Hindus are more likely to believe in witchcraft than Buddhists or Muslims. The study also found that witchcraft accusations are often made against marginalized groups, such as women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. These accusations can have a devastating impact on the lives of the accused.

The study examined the shocks in consumption pattern of households to economic recession in Sanga Local Government of Kaduna State, Nigeria. The study administered 90 structured questionnaires to the respondents who were randomly selected from different heads of households across three traditional chiefdoms in the local government; 30 respondents in each of the three chiefdoms. The data gathered were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result reveals that the economic recession has negative effects on households’ income and household’s consumption pattern in the local government. The study therefore, recommends that, the government should diversify the economy to agricultural base economy in order to stimulate consumption of households and subsequently expand economic growth in the Local government and the country at large. The State and local government should improve infrastructural facilities such as roads and markets such as to improve the income and consumption pattern of the people in the area.

The study examined the conceptual issues of public policy failure in Nigeria and how it affects economic development. The study discussed the general overview of public policy, the need of public policy in Nigeria. The study analyzed the concept of public policy and economic underdevelopment. The paper reveals, among other reasons, why public policies are not effective in Nigeria and the public policies that failed in the country over the years. The paper also outlined the consequences of public policies failure in Nigeria. The study was based on the thesis of elite theory. The study concludes that constant changes of government in Nigeria, high level of corruption among government officials of these public policies agencies among others affected the smooth operations of public policies in Nigeria. The study therefore recommends that there should be continuity in public policy implementation even where there is change in government as government is a continuum; and parochial and primordial interests should be avoided during policy formulation and implementation in the country. There should be capital punishment in the country constitution to address the issues of corruption in Nigeria.

The study examined the challenges in management of refugees and IDPs in Narayi, Kaduna State-Nigeria spanning the period 2015-2021. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the quantitative data. Content analysis was also employed to analyze the qualitative data whereas statistical methods, regression and correlation analysis were utilized to analyze the quantitative data. The results of the study however, prove that there exist a significant association between the challenges of refugees and IDPs and their adaptability in Nigeria. According to the result of the regression analysis, lack of education and poor accommodation have a positive influence on adaptability while inadequate food has a negative impact on adaptability of refuges and IDPs in Nigeria for the period of study. The study therefore recommends that governments should enact a local law to compel IDPs management agencies at all levels to stringently observe the UN Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement to the letter. In the alternative, they should adapt these principles as national laws and make them binding on all IDPs management agencies.
