. It is necessary to utilize desalination technology to clear the water available, including seawater, to meet the increasing need for clean water due to population growth. Several desalination methods, such as thermal methods, membranes, freezing g, and ion exchange, continue to be developed but have not overcome some deficiencies. Therefore, new alternative desalination methods with droplet atomization, which utilizes the air entrainment phenomena, are being developed. Research on non-dimensional fluid atomization is the basis for designing this method. The study used brine pumped through a nozzle with a small diameter to become mist or vapor. This study carried out variations of research parameters on the configuration of the experimental apparatus in the form of pressure, the diameter of the nozzle, and the number of nozzles. Quantitative data from experimental results obtained from measurement instruments and qualitative data in videos obtained using a camera are to be processed into quantitative data using image processing. The results showed that pressure affects the characteristics of a full cone-shaped water spray. It was found that the best spray system configuration with two nozzles with a diameter of 0.5 mm in a pressure of 9 bar.

. Atorvastatin calcium is a potent active pharmaceutical ingredient that reduces blood cholesterol levels. However, oral bioavailability is low because it is difficult to dissolve in water. Therefore, further research to increase the solubility of the drug is needed to improve its bioavailability properties. This research aimed to increase the solubility of atorvastatin calcium through the formation of a multi-component solid. Furthermore, the drug was formed into a multi-component solid with dipicolinic acid as a coformer using the solvent evaporation-quenching method. A powder X-ray diffractometer (PXRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to characterize the solid. Also, the shake-flask method was used to analyze the solubility of the solid in distilled water. The results showed that atorvastatin calcium and dipicolinic acid formed a new multi-component solid of cocrystal type. The solubility of the atorvastatin calcium from the multi-component solid was 344.31 ± 37.09 mg/L, which was a significant increase of about 2.7-fold compared to the pure form.

. Ship and propeller interaction greatly affect ship maneuvering performance and behavior. In steady ahead operation, the interaction properties remain unchanged due to steady ship-propeller operations. In dynamic operations, such as stopping, the properties vary considerably based on the ship and propeller speed combinations. Past researches and practices use a simplistic assumption of single and constant value resembling steady ahead operation due to the lack of knowledge and data on the properties. Up to very recently, researchers in the field and related areas refer to the one and only work from more than five decades ago. The current research presents an insight to disclose the properties features, efforts, and progressions made in the field to the extent of challenges bottlenecking the development. The work broadens the analysis of the implication and inadequacy of the current circumstance toward appropriateness, accuracy, and validity of the research and related studies in the field.

. Efforts to utilize and improve the value of pulp waste have been done by using primary sludge (still containing cellulose) and fly ash as a filler to produce composite foam polystyrene (PS)- based as sound absorbent. In this study, the composite foam was produced by mixing primary sludge and fly ash with several compositions such as PS, PS/PS-g-MA/primary sludge/fly ash (80/10/10/0), (80/10/7/3), (80/10/5/5), (75/10/10/5), and (75/10/12/3). The composite was characterized based on ISO 11654:1997, mechanical properties, thermal analysis using TGA and DSC, morphology using SEM, crystallinity using XRD, and chemical analysis using FTIR. The results showed that the band at 1600.63 cm -1 was sharper due to a chemical reaction being formed between PS, primary sludge, and fly ash. The XRD analysis showed a new diffraction peak in the 2 = 21-24 o . The morphology analysis showed that primary sludge and fly ash were uniformly dispersed into PS, increasing the mechanical properties and decreasing the melting point of the PS foam composite. The sound-absorbing composite produced had qualified ISO 11654:1997 on the rating level of the sound absorption coefficient on materials for rooms with sound absorption classes D and C with the value of w 0.328-0.793.
