This paper investigates the affects to the Sogdian merchants who were doing business in China during Chinas war with the Xiongnu. Several arguments were made in this paper in order to support the points made below, with actual historical events and background, which includes the Yongjia rebellion that happened in the Western Jin Dynasty in China. The Paper also relied heavily on an ancient letter to support its statements, which was written by a Sogdian merchant who used to trade in China in the Western Jin dynasty, got trapped in China and could not leave. The paper proves the security of Sogdian life, property, and trade during the period of the war between China and the Huns.

This paper aims to analyze the Latin American independence revolutions from a social and ideological perspective to contribute to revising the conventional wisdom of Latin American revolutionary history. The method chosen is a comparison between the aforementioned revolutions and the American Revolution, helping to demonstrate how, far from being a simple deviation or a failure, the Latin American independence revolutions had their own traits. The paper tries to answer mainly three questions: how Latin America and America received the enlightenment idea, how those ideas affected their revolutionary process, and how both regions rebuilt and restructured after the revolution.

In pursuit of a comprehensive poverty reduction strategy for Cambodia, this paper begins with an analysis of the value ladder of Cambodia's garment industry. This paper argues for a shift from the bottom of the ladder, a labor-intensive economy, to more advanced sectors involving technology, design, and skilled labor as a potential catalyst for poverty reduction progress. Furthermore, this paper emphasizes that Cambodia's opportunity to lift its position from the value ladder hinges on the augmentation of human capital, primarily through strategic investments in education. Subsequently, the paper delves into the challenges confronting the Cambodian government in its efforts to address poverty. Drawing inspiration from the successful Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs implemented in Mexico (Oportunidades) and Brazil (Bolsa Famlia) to tackle similar poverty-related challenges, this paper examines their outcomes. It evaluates their practicality within the Cambodian context as a policy recommendation.

In an age marked by rapid advancements in information technology and the widespread use of the Internet, the popularity of Internet buzzwords has become widespread and serves as one of the important forms of popular culture. However, there seems to be scant research on the relationship between popular Internet buzzwords and vocabulary capacity, especially the relationship between the use of Internet buzzwords and the vocabulary of English as a second language. To explore the relationship between the use of Internet buzzwords and English vocabulary capacity, this research will use a case study with 12 different categories of digital natives conducted through focus group interviews and semi-structured interviews to explore the use of specific Internet buzzword cue. The possible outcome is that different types of digital natives will have different views on the use of online buzzwords. Research may need to integrate the use of oral buzzwords in the context of offline to further demonstrate the relationship between the use of Internet buzzwords and the vocabulary of a second language, such as English. The research may shed light on the oral buzzword use in communication. This research focuses on how the specific English buzzword "cue" has developed into an Internet buzzword. Further, it discusses how similar Internet buzzwords have influenced the vocabulary aspects of English as a second language learning by digital natives. The study delves into the challenges faced by these learners and the opportunities presented by the use of such buzzwords in the language learning process". It is expected that this will shed light on the research aspect of internet buzzwords on language proficiency and further research on the impact of internet buzzwords in oral communication.

The motivations for Alexander the Greats military expedition are significant due to the extent of his military conquests. This essay analyses a combination of fundamental motivations for Alexanders conquests, his behavioural patterns, and development during Alexanders youth that might contribute to his motivation. How he was raised and unique events in his life was also considered in an attempt to reach a more reasonable conclusion. A comparison of all these influencing factors is still unable to provide a definite conclusion. However, it has resulted in a speculation that fame was a major influencing factor, in addition to social norms not holding significant impact of Alexander. There is a certain amount of historical evidence that supports his tendency to want more fame. This essay combines the ancient study of history and the relatively modern study of psychology to try and gain a more well rounded understanding of Alexander the Great of Macedonia.

Based on framing theory, this study compares the differences between the most authoritative and influential newspapers in China, and the People's Daily's news coverage on four online platforms, including the Chinese official website, the English official website, Weibo, and Twitter. By collecting and analyzing the media coverage of People's Daily on July 1 (known as the Party's Day of the Communist Party of China) and July 8, this study argues that People's Daily selects and constructs coverage differently on four platforms, trying to adapt to the specific character of various audiences and platforms. The findings indicate that the influence of the Partys Day on Peoples Dailys coverage was more reflected on Chinese platforms, and People's Daily constructs different narratives in two dimensions: website - social media and China-foreign news. This study adopts the research method of quantitative statistics and content analysis to investigate the changes in People's Daily due to different platforms, which will provide new insights into People's Daily's reporting strategy and value orientation.

The concept of "meme" was introduced in 1976, and with the development of the internet, memes have gradually become a cultural phenomenon on social media. As a semantic collection, memes possess unique meanings that can create a distinct hidden information space for those who use them. During dissemination, individuals who do not understand the meaning of a meme are filtered out, forming a group of those who understand it. Within this group, people may develop a sense of belonging. In order to investigate whether Chinese internet users experience a sense of belonging when using memes and explore the relationship between user engagement and the strength of this sense of belonging when using memes, this study employed a questionnaire-based approach. By analyzing the level of meme usage participation and the sense of belonging experienced by Chinese internet users, the research sought to uncover the correlation between these two factors. The study utilized graphical analysis to reveal a certain degree of correlation.

Influenced by the feminism movements in the 1960s, more and more films have begun to pay attention to women's issues as well as presenting a trend of criticism and reflection on the gender issues in the past (and in the Hollywood blockbuster). -The paper will be conducted by utilizing film techniques such as mis-en-scen, colour, lighting, filming techniques, lines, etc. in combination with postmodern feminist theories, female image analysis, female consciousness awakening, gaze theory, as well as theories of narrative and patriarchy to deeply explore and analyse the growth of the subjective consciousness of the two female protagonists in the film. The paper will be conducted by utilizing the textual analysis as a main methodology, trying to contribute a more comprehensive angle to dissect this artwork.
