The circular economy (CE) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are two well-known initiatives to address issues like social injustice, environmental pollution, and resource scarcity. While these two initiatives have received the support of the Colombian government through plans and strategies, little is known about the involvement of private companies. The aim of this study was to examine the CE and SDGs' implementation in the Colombian private sector. The entities linked with the United Nations Global Compact served as the study population, which was assessed by a semi-structured survey whose data was handled by descriptive and non-parametric statistics. Findings indicate that 75% of the entities are supporting the SDGs and adopting the CE model simultaneously. The food and transportation sectors show the highest levels of alignment towards CE, followed by mining and manufacturing. Waste management is the most implemented type of CE practice (65%), while supply chain management is the least (20%). The SDGs that receive the most attention are SDG 17, SDG 6, SDG 16, and SDG 12. Conversely, SDG 2 and SDG 5 receive the least support.

The Liquidity Risk in Small and Medium Enterprises - SMEs in the City of Cartagena-Colombia is analyzed, based on the determination of their Capital Structure. The variables, liquidity risk (dependent) and capital structure (independent), were analyzed, based on a quantitative investigation with a correlational approach. The hypothesis was, H1: There is a positive relationship between the capital structure and liquidity risk. The population came from the accounting database as of December 31, 2016 of the Superintendencia de Sociedades, with a sample of 260 companies. It is concluded that the higher the level of indebtedness, the greater the liquidity risk of the company tends to increase, thus accepting the hypothesis established in the investigation. Derived from the analysis presented, recommendations are offered on the formulation of projects that can contribute to the improvement of the liquidity conditions of the companies analyzed.

Sustainable Development (SD) encompasses the enhancement of quality of life through social, economic, and environmental pillars. Biogas utilization from landfills (BUL) is a widely adopted technique in the United States and some European regions. However, myths persist regarding its implementation in Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as in certain low-and middle-income economies. This article aims to assess the electricity generation potential in Colombia's major cities and highlight the significant contribution of BUL in achieving public policies objectives for SD and climate change mitigation. The study underscores that Colombia undervalues the potential of BUL when formulating public policies, overlooking its substantial impact in fulfilling at least 14 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This research analyzes and identifies the evolution and trends in the telecommunications sector to successfully implement a hyperconverged solution. The approach was qualitative through a document review, exploring the best practices of consulting firms, the technology community, and manufacturers in the sector. The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure in 2022 was used as a basis to achieve this objective. The leading vendors successfully implementing their solutions in the telecommunications sector were identified. Subsequently, the information gathered by consulting firms, the technology community, and experts in the field was contrasted to corroborate the evolution, advantages, and market trends. Finally, it was concluded that organizations' decision-making should consider economic and commercial criteria and evaluate aspects of greater depth and relevance, such as field evidence, technological innovation, and customer experience described by third parties.

In this article is shown a path to define constants as well as input and output variables when elaborating a parametric model of an internal combustion engine by triggered ignition. There are discussed the different critical factors that should be considered when determining the constants and variables, this includes the engine operating conditions, the properties of the fuel and the emissions generated. In addition, there is also described the methods used to measure and validate these constants, variables, graphic methods and the different type of model founded. It concludes with the revision of the practical applications of the parametric model including its performance and concentration of the CO2 emissions to the environment.
