Aging is a physiological process determined by various intrinsic and extrinsic factors, being a normal and inevitable process. A common complaint of the aging process is the crease of the nasolabial folds, popularly known as the “Chinese mustache”. With aging, the progressive ptosis of the malar fat and the overlying skin contribute to the deepening of the sulcus, but the depth also varies according to race, gender, age and weight. Since 1996, HA has been used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for cosmetic purposes to fill in wrinkles, scars, increase lip volume and others. Although the duration of effect is limited, HA products are the most commonly used fillers. They produce very significant results and few undesirable reactions. Non-surgical procedures with the use of HA for correction of the SNG in the facial rejuvenation process are a reality, and the objective of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the filler based on hyaluronic acid in the nasolabial folds through injection techniques in three dermal planes distinct: supraperiosteal, subcutaneous and intradermal, showing the results.

Pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care and is related to most disease states. It is estimated that the prevalence of pain varies from 37% to 70%, generating functional limitations and negative impacts on quality of life. Medicinal Biomagnetism (MB) is a therapeutic approach that corrects bioelectromagnetic dysfunctions through the application of Static Magnetic Fields (SMF), acting on the most varied pathological states. SMF can be applied in a controlled manner, locally to specific parts of the human body, aiming to improve inflammatory, infectious and dysfunctional conditions that can lead to pain. Objective: To evaluate the analgesic effects of applying one of the MB protocols, the Modern Trauma Pair (MTP), in participants with pain. Methodology: A cross-sectional observational study was carried out, where the MTP was applied to 30 participants who had some type of pain, using the Visual Analogue Scale, to assess the intensity of subjective pain. Results: A statistically significant difference (p<0.001) was observed between the times before applying the protocol (average of 6.87), and 15 minutes after applying the MTP. There was a progressive decline in reported pain perception, reaching an average of 4.74 for acute pain and 4.84 for chronic pain, after 60 minutes of use. Conclusion: MTP can be an important therapeutic approach for pain relief. The Medicinal Biomagnetism protocol, MTP can contribute quickly and with minimal side effects to analgesia in different types of pain.

The search for aesthetic treatments is becoming increasingly common in clinics, with facial slimming being one of the most sought-after procedures. In an effort to address techniques less invasive than surgical procedures, the use of Microfocused Ultrasound (MFU) has been gaining prominence. This case report aims to evaluate the efficacy of MFU in facial slimming for a patient seeking to improve the contour of her face. Methodology: The treatment area was delimited by a line drawn from the labial commissure to the tragus, with a safety margin of 1cm on both sides. Both areas were divided into three columns (anterior, middle, and posterior) to receive the transducers. Ultrasound gel was applied to the skin before the procedure. The technology used was Reface. Initially, 4 MHz transducers with 4.5 mm depth and 0.9J power were applied to the area with 15 shots on both sides of the face, distributed as follows: six in the anterior column, six in the middle column, and three in the posterior column. Next, a 7 MHz transducer with 3.0 mm depth and 0.9J power was applied to the area with 15 shots on each side of the face, distributed similarly. The transducers were reoriented with each shot, advancing 1mm upward in both areas. These areas were chosen with the goal of slimming the middle third of the face. Results: The patient was evaluated after 60 days, and a reduction in volume on the left and right sides of the face, ranging from 1.02 to 1.79mm, was observed. The results were obtained through standardized photographs using Vectra software.

The search for a healthier way of aging reflects the growing understanding that longevity alone is not enough. Advances in aesthetic technologies have brought with them the increasing use of ultrasound-emitting equipment to deliver thermal energy not only to the superficial dermis but also to the deep dermal connective tissue. Studying the application of microfocused ultrasound associated with Sculptra® Poly-L-lactic Acid (Galderma - Switzerland) is justifiable, as it directly addresses the growing concerns related to skin aging at all ages. The objective of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the combination of microfocused ultrasound and Sculptra® in a case study. Materials and methods: case study that demonstrates a stereophotogrammetric evaluation using the Vectra H2 Software (Canfield – USA) whose clinical case is a facial clinical association of Microfocused Ultrasound with Poly-L-lactic Acid. The case was carried out on patient KBS, brown, 61 years old. The specific combination of Microfocused Ultrasound and Poly-L-lactic Acid, as collagen biostimulators, represents a promising approach in the treatment of sagging. Stereophotogrammetric analysis with 3D Vectra H2 software offers an objective, visually detailed and scientifically validated assessment of the results of this therapeutic combination. The inclusion of measurements both at baseline and 120 and 240 days after treatment allows for a more complete understanding of the results, evolution and durability of effects.

The evolution of technology in aesthetics and the concern to carry out less invasive procedures has given more and more space to procedures such as microfocused ultrasound. In this context, the main objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of microfocused ultrasound for a facelift and its durability after months of application. Materials and methods: The procedure was carried out on 5 patients (N=5) in the middle/lower third of the face, and followed up for 4 months (120 days). Digital images of each subject were taken before and after treatment with the Vectra H2 system and after 4 months of the protocol. A questionnaire was administered among the patients involved in the study about their level of satisfaction with the procedure and among dental professionals who were not involved in the study, according to the GAIS scale. Results: A facelift was observed after 4 months in 100% of the cases and increased in 60% of the patients in the study. The majority of patients rated their satisfaction with the outcome of the treatment between number 2-(Improved a lot) (40%) and number 1-(Improved a lot) (40%). Around 20% rated their satisfaction with the procedure as number 3-(Improved), while in the blinded observers’ assessment, 80% rated the result as number 2-(Improved a lot) and 20% as number 1-(Improved a lot). There were no ratings of 4-(No improvement at all) or 5-(Worsened). Conclusion: The facelift obtained through microfocused ultrasound was maintained for four months after the procedure in all patients, when compared to stage 0 (before the protocol).

Kidney transplantation offers an improvement in the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure. However, there are complications that may occur during the postoperative period of this procedure and are significant. This work seeks to analyze the role of nurses in the control of infection in the postoperative period in renal transplant recipients, in this sense, an integrative literature review was conducted through secondary databases. The results showed that in view of the complexity, the renal transplant therapy module requires that the nursing team offer specific care, the systematization of nursing care can help to project nursing work, to reduce the risk of rejection, increase the quality of life of renal transplant recipients and the credibility of the services provided. Nursing care is fundamental for the success of the procedure, so interventions should be directed to the prevention of these complications.

Introduction: Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is a set of clinical manifestations resulting from the chronic dysfunction of the peripheral venous system that affects the lower limbs. There is a growing search for complementary therapies, such as Medicinal Biomagnetism (MB), which acts in a non-invasive, painless, low-cost and with rare contraindications, aiming to improve quality of life. MB uses Static Magnetic Fields (SMF) to restore bioenergetic balance and promote health, including CVI. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of SMF application, through the MB Lower Limb Blood Flow Protocol (LLBFP), on pain resulting from vascular alterations of the lower limbs. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional clinical experimental study in three female participants with vascular alterations in the lower limbs who underwent the LLBFP Protocol. Pain, edema and quality of life complaints were assessed using the Venous Insufficiency Epidemiological and Economic Study (VEINES), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and perimeter measurements questionnaires, before and after the application of the LLBFP. Results: After treatment with the LLBFP Protocol, there was a trend towards the analgesic effect and reduction of edema, as well as improvement in the aspects related to the symptoms of heavy, restless, tired legs, and tingling, burning and itching, promoting improvement in quality of life. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the application of the MB LLBFP Protocol has the potential to reduce the subjective perception of pain and edema in lower limbs with vascular alterations. The magnets used in the LLBFP may promote an anti-inflammatory response, contributing to the improvement of quality of life.
