Atom optics with a spatial light modulator 带空间光调制器的原子光学

We report on the use of a spatial light modulator to holographically shape the beam profile of a laser to create various dipolar potentials applied to a cold rubidium cloud. Various difficulties encountered in this process are described. Preliminary results of atom guiding in hollow beams are presented.

Optoelectronic delay dynamics: from optical chaos communication to high purity microwave oscillators 光电延迟动力学:从光混沌通信到高纯微波振荡器

Nonlinear delay oscillators in optics have been first intensively studied in the context of chaos and nonlinear dynamics theory in the early 80s. Ten years later, they have been independently and nearly simultaneously explored in the context of two antagonistic applications: one is concerned by broadband spread spectrum optical chaos communications and the other dealt with ultra high spectral purity microwave oscillations. We report here on recent surprising results obtained while developing nonlinear dynamical stability analysis for each application, and considering the relevant quantitative differences between the two configurations of the same oscillator architectures.

A novel high-efficiency single-mode single photon source 一种新型高效单模单光子源

We present a novel single-mode single photon source exploiting the emission of a semiconductor quantum dot (QD) located inside a photonic wire. We first show theoretically that for optimized designs, more than 95% of the QD spontaneous emission (SE) can be injected into the fundamental guided mode of the photonic wire. A single photon collection efficiency of 17% is measured in a preliminary experiment performed on a single InAs QD located within a 250 nm diameter cylinder of GaAs. Because this photon collection strategy does not exploit the Purcell effect, it could also be efficiently applied to broadband single photon emitters such as F-centers in diamond.

Triggered single-photon source based on photoluminescence of single nickel-related colour centres in CVD-grown nanodiamonds 基于cvd纳米金刚石中镍相关色心光致发光的触发单光子源

We report the realization of a solid-state single-photon source in the near infrared regime at room temperature. It is based on the photoluminescence of a single nickel-related colour centre in a CVD grown diamond nanocrystal. Antibunching has been observed in the fluorescence light, with which we demonstrate a triggered single-photon source at room temperature.

Dye-substrate interactions evidenced by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy 染料-衬底相互作用的荧光相关光谱证明

In this report, we discuss how the nature of the substrate-water interaction may modify the free diffusion of single molecules, then influencing fluorescence correlation spectroscopy measurements. Our results show a strong influence, up to a few micrometers from the interface, of the surface polarity. This effect is assessed through the relative weight of the two dimension diffusion process observed close to the surface.

La theorie quantique necessite de renoncer a certaines images classiques heritees du sens commun. Elle stipule en particulier une description duale de la lumiere et de la matiere, presentant simultanement les proprietes d'une onde et d'une particule et conduisant ainsi a des representations classiques de la realite physique incompatibles. Le travail decrit dans cet ouvrage s'inscrit dans l'etude de la dualite onde-corpuscule pour un photon unique a l'aide d'une source de photons uniques fondee sur l'excitation impulsionnelle d'un centre colore NV individuel dans un nanocristal de diamant. Nous presentons dans un premier temps une experience d'interference a un photon tres proche dans sa conception de celle des trous d'Young. Cette experience nous permettra de discuter de la complementarite entre interference et connaissance du chemin suivi par la particule dans l'interferometre. Pour aller un peu plus au cœur des problemes conceptuels souleves par la dualite onde-corpuscule, nous decrivons par la suite la realisation experimentale de l'experience de pensee dite de “choix retarde” proposee par Wheeler au debut des annees soixante-dix. Dans cette experience, la decision de fermer ou non l'interferometre, et donc d'observer soit les interferences (associe a une propriete ondulatoire) soit le chemin suivi par le photon dans l'interferometre (associe a une propriete de type corpusculaire), n'est prise qu'une fois que le photon a franchi l'element separateur a l'entree de l'interferometre. Les resultats de cette experience nous permettront de conclure qu'aucune realite physique classique ne saurait etre attribuee au photon independamment de l'appareil de mesure, comme le stipule le principe de complementarite.

Stimulated Raman scattering in hollow core photonic crystal fibres 空心光子晶体光纤中的受激拉曼散射

We present an experimental demonstration of stimulated Raman scattering in a hollow core photonic crystal fibre filled with ethanol. By combining the original transmission properties of these fibres with a highly nonlinear liquid we have realized a very efficient Raman generator. This technique can be applied to other nonlinear mechanisms and opens the way towards the realisation of new fibered components for optical systems.

High power modeless lasers for sodium laser guide stars 用于钠激光导星的高功率非模态激光器

An increasing number of adaptive optics systems in astronomy uses a sodium Laser Guide Star (LGS). The analysis of the distorsion of the return fluorescence requires high power lasers. We expose here two modeless laser amplifiers, based on a longitudinaly pumped 1 cm-long dye cell: the first one is a 4-pass amplifier at 589 nm pumped at 532 nm and the second one is a 4-pass amplifier at 660 nm pomped at 511 and 578 nm. These systems correspond respectively to the monochromatic and the polychromatic laser guide stars.

Sodium UV modeless laser excitation for PLGS 用于PLGS的无模态钠激光激发

In the framework of Laser Guide Star projects and more particularly of VASAO project of the Canada France Hawaii Telescope, we have developed a modeless laser at 330 nm and we have carried out photometry experiments in laboratory, in order to evaluate the feasibility of the sodium atom excitation at 330 nm. Our modeless laser is a DCM dye laser frequency doubled by a BBO crystal. A high efficiency acousto-optical crystal assures the modeless property. We present the experimental results of sodium atom excitation of 3S 1/2 → 4P 3/2 transition at 330.24 nm and 3S 1/2 → 3P 3/2 transition at 589 nm. The rate equation model gives a good interpretation of the experimental results.
