Optical bistability in a laser containing a saturable absorber 含饱和吸收器激光器的光学双稳性

In this work, the theory of optical bistability for the homogeneously broadening of a nonlinear absorber inside Fabry-Perot interferometer is treated. The theoretical influence of the resonator losses on the optical bistability is examined mainly in the cases for which losses depend on both the mode frequency and the density of photons. On the basis of the Rate Equation Approach (REA), we analytically and numerically solved this type of equation for stationary case.

Diamond nanoparticles as photoluminescent nanoprobes 金刚石纳米粒子作为光致发光纳米探针

We present preliminary results showing the potential of diamond nanoparticles with size <50 nm as photoluminescent nanoprobes (i) for biological applications like biomolecule tracking in living cell and (ii) for serving as stable point-like emitters attached at the tip apex of a near-field optical microscope to achieve enhanced spatial resolution.

Frequency dissemination with a 86-km optical fibre for fundamental tests of physics 用86公里长的光纤进行频率传播,用于物理基础测试

A 43-km optical link has been developed between LPL and LNE-SYRTE, to transfer a primary reference frequency in the RF or microwave range. The phase noise introduced by the fluctuations of the propagation delay is compensated using a delay line. The resolution has been improved by increasing the transferred frequency up to 9 GHz. This link was used to compare a molecular optical clock in LPL to a primary reference in SYRTE, which leads to a test of the stability of electron to proton mass ratio.

Optomechanical coupling in high-finesse cavities: towards the observation of quantum effects 高精细度空腔中的光力学耦合:面向量子效应的观察

In quantum mechanics, every measurement induces a back-action on the measured system which usually implies a limit in the sensitivity of the measurement. Our goal is to demonstrate such quantum effects, with an experimental setup based on a high-finesse optical cavity to detect very small displacements of the mirrors. We recently observed a cancellation of the back-action induced by the radiation pressure exerted on the mirrors. Such a cancellation effect may greatly enhance the sensitivity of gravitational-waves detection by dual resonators.

Kinetics of Pb2+-doped calcium hydroxyapatites fluorescence Pb2+掺杂羟基磷灰石钙荧光动力学

Temperature dependence of Pb 2+ decays in the hydroxyapatites CaPb x (PO(OH) 2 has been studied between 25 and 300 K. It has been showed that the process of photoluminescence is mainly controlled by the metastable 3 P 0 level. The broad emission band at very low temperature is attributed to 3 P 0 1 S 0 and at 3 P 1 1 S 0 at higher temperature.

We study the quantum kinetics of LO-phonon cascade emission in quantum wells by electron-hole pairs, whose relaxation ends with a trapping in quantum dots. Modulations with a period given by the LO-phonon frequency appear progressively in the time resolved differential transmission spectrum, indicating the transition from the quantum kinetic to the classical regime.

Quantum optics with micromirrors 微镜量子光学

Recent progress in high-finesse optical cavities and micro-mechanical resonators allows one to reach a new regime in which both mechanical and optical dynamics are governed by the radiation pressure exerted by light on mirrors. This optomechanical coupling leads to the existence of fundamental quantum limits in ultrasensitive interferometric measurements, and also to very efficient cooling mechanisms of micromirrors. We experimentally study these effects by monitoring in a very high-finesse cavity the displacements of a mirror coated on a micro-resonator. We have in particular observed a self-cooling of the mirror induced by the intracavity radiation pressure. Improvements of the experimental setup would open the way to the optical observation of the quantum ground state of a macroscopic resonator.

Effect of different agents onto multidrug resistant cells revealed by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy 荧光相关光谱显示不同药物对多药耐药细胞的影响

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) has been used to analyze the plasma membrane fluidity and heterogene- ity of multidrug resistant cells. At the single cell level, the effects of different membrane agents present in the extra-cellular medium have been explored. Firstly, we reveal a modification of plasma membrane heterogeneities according to the addition of a fluidity modulator, benzyl alcohol. On the other hand, revertants such as verapamil and cyclosporin-A appear to act more specifically on the slow diffusion sites, such as lipids microdomains.

Towards an optical measurement of the Boltzmann constant at the 10-5 level 玻尔兹曼常数在10-5能级的光学测量

We present a new method for direct determination of the Boltzmann constant by laser spectroscopy. The principle consists in recording the linear absorption in a vapour of an atomic or molecular line at a controlled temperature around 273.15 K. By eliminating the pressure broadening, we deduced the pure Doppler width which gives a first optical measurement of the Boltzmann constant k B . The present determination should be significantly improved in the near future and contribute to a new definition of kelvin.
