ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the state-of-the-art developed about surgical Nursing care in the operating room. Method: an integrative review with search and selection of primary studies conducted in April and May 2022 in four major data sources in the health field, namely: LILACS, SciELO, BDENF and PubMed, from 2018 to 2022. The sample consisted of 13 studies, 8 selected from a universe of 293 articles and 5 obtained through the manual search. Results: three categories were generated: Associating surgical care with care, people and material resources management for patient safety; Surgical care and ethical sensitivity in the search for patients' well-being; and Operating room nurses' manifestation and omission experiences and surgical care. Conclusions: surgical Nursing care in the operating room is varied and is manifested through meeting the administrative demands, ethical sensitivity, body temperature maintenance, preservation of individuality and meeting all the needs in the intraoperative period when patients are more vulnerable, including being duly informed as a way to provide safe surgical care. On the other hand, nurses acknowledge the need to change their world view and direct surgical care towards a more human, social and cultural perspective.

ABSTRACT Objective to analyze the spatial-temporal distribution and factors associated with HIV/AIDS mortality among young people in the Northeast from 2001 to 2020. Method ecological study with 2,509 deaths from HIV/AIDS from northeastern residents aged between 10 and 24 years of age, reported in the Mortality Information System. Temporal analysis techniques (Joinpoint) and detection of spatial clusters (Spatial Autocorrelation, Gets-Ord Gi* and Scan were used. Three spatial error and spatial lag (Spatial Error and Spatial Lag) and non-spatial regression models (Ordinary Least Squares-OLS) were used to identify the factors associated with mortality in northeastern municipalities, considering p<0.05. Results the HIV/AIDS mortality rate among young people in the northeast was 0.4 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. Maranhão (APC:7.1; CI95%:2.3-12.1), Sergipe (PcA:6.9; CI95%:1.8-12.2), Rio Grande do Norte (PcA:6.4; CI95%:1.8-11.2), Ceará (PcA:4.2; CI95%:1.5-7.0) and Alagoas (APC:3.2; CI95%:0.1-6.4) showed a significant increasing trend of deaths. Cluster detection techniques indicated clusters of deaths mainly on the coast of Pernambuco and north-central Maranhão. The indicators proportion of the population in households with density >2 (β=0.012; p<0.001) and per capita transfer of the continued benefit (β=0.000; p<0.001) showed a positive relationship with the outcome. On the other hand, the proportion of extremely poor people (β=-0.011; p=0.029) and the Brazilian Deprivation Index (β=-0.195; p=0.009) were negatively associated with mortality. Conclusion there was a trend of increased mortality in five of the nine northeastern states. The spatial clusters were located mainly in Pernambuco and North-Central Maranhão. Interventions aimed at socioeconomic factors should be established to prevent HIV infections and deaths among young people.

ABSTRACT Objectives to analyze the perception of women discharged from the prison system about the main stressors that marked their life trajectories and to discuss the feasibility of the Clinical Ethnographic Narrative Interview technique to facilitate the narrative of this group. Method narrative research developed in a social protection center in the interior of São Paulo. Data were collected in 2021 (January and February) using the Clinical Ethnographic Narrative Interview technique, which intersperses narratives and visual aids. The synergy between the concepts of vulnerability and stress was adopted as a theoretical framework, and content analysis was performed. The discussion of viability was based on the criteria of acceptability and expansion. Results The narratives addressed psychosocial difficulties prior to incarceration and the hostile environment of the overcrowded prison as a place of conflict and abuse of power. Family helplessness, estrangement from children, negative emotions, somatic symptoms and traumas were mentioned as consequences of seclusion. The participants also reported coping processes with words that referred to the ideas of overcoming, hope, new beginning and gratitude. It is understood that this high point of the narratives may reflect the potential of the interview technique and corroborates its adequacy. Conclusion The undoubted painful character of the narratives about the different adversities experienced, especially as a result of seclusion, was also permeated by aspects that denoted resilient processes. The adoption of this interview technique made data collection more sensitive, welcoming and timely to expand the repertoire of words in the expression of feelings and revisit painful experiences, envisioning positive possibilities for the future.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map the educational technologies devised to teach Basic Life Support to adolescents. Method: a scoping review conducted according to the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and carried out between May and November 2022, in seven databases and Google Scholar, to answer the following question: “Which are the educational technologies devised/used about Basic Life Support for adolescents?”. By means of inclusion/exclusion criteria, two independent reviewers selected the articles resorting to the EndNote® and Rayyan® software programs. Forms adapted from the Joanna Briggs Institute were used for data extraction and methodological analysis. The data were reported by means of the PRISMA-ScR checklist extension and the protocol of this study is published in: https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/P87SV. Results: a total of 34 articles were selected, which were organized into six categories of educational technologies: 1) Audiovisual; 2) Computational; 3) Learning kits; 4) Mobile devices; 5) Printed material; and 6) Manufactured. This topic has appeared in publications since 1975, especially in medical journals, mainly by European and North American authors. The materials included were 16 experimental and 18 quasi-experimental trials, of varied methodological quality levels and predominantly conducted with High School students. Conclusion: the educational technologies mapped were as follows: videos, films, Digital Versatile Disc, images, music, audiovisual narratives, games, virtual reality/avatar, web courses, computational software, computer and smartphone apps, task cards and manikins (including manufactured ones). Although there are countless educational technologies on Basic Life Support for adolescents, they have not allowed achieving good levels of practical skills, mainly when they propose to teach ventilation to lay people.

ABSTRACT Objective: to compare the effect of clinical simulation and of a lectured class on Nursing students' knowledge about the colostomy irrigation procedure. Method: a quasi-experimental study conducted in September 2019 with Nursing students attending Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte in Natal, Brazil. The instruments used were a questionnaire targeted at sociodemographic issues and a knowledge analysis tool at three different moments. The Control Group had a lectured class and the Intervention Group took part in the laboratory simulation. The Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney tests were used for data analysis. Results: no statistically significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of the sociodemographic profile. In the analysis of the means of correct answers, better measures were observed in the post-test of both groups when compared to the pre-test; however, in the retention test, the students from the Intervention Group had better and statistically significant results than those from the Control Group (p-value=0.015). Conclusion: it is noticed that both teaching strategies exerted a positive effect on the students' learning process. Although both are equally important and effective, simulation showed better performance in knowledge retention. It is expected that this research enables educators to reflect on their work and allows them to use strategies that enhance their teaching practice, in order to benefit teaching and the students' development.

ABSTRACT Objective: to assess the prevalence of sleep disturbances and factors associated with sleep quality in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome. Method: this is a cross-sectional study, carried out in the Cardiology Unit of a public university hospital, from October 2021 to December 2022, with patients hospitalized for Acute Coronary Syndrome over 18 years old. Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected, and sleep quality was measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Statistical association tests were performed, considering a value of p<0.05 as significant. Results: a total of 96 patients were included, the majority being male, married and with a mean age of 63 years. The most prevalent comorbidities were hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes. It was identified that 92% had alteration in sleep quality and that the number of hours slept (p.<0.01), time to start sleep (p.0.03), sleep latency (p.<0.01), sleep duration (p.<0.01), habitual sleep efficiency (p.<0.02) and daytime sleepiness and daytime dysfunction (p.0.01) were significantly associated with sleep quality. There was a weak but significant correlation between age (r-0.22, p.0.02) and the presence of obstructive coronary lesions (r-0.23; p.0.02) with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score. Conclusion: most patients with acute coronary syndrome were classified as poor sleepers, therefore educational interventions to promote sleep should be performed in this population to reduce cardiovascular risk.

ABSTRACT Objective: to assess Pap smear performance in bacterial vaginosis diagnosis in women of childbearing age. Method: a cross-sectional, retrospective study carried out in a health unit in a city in the interior of São Paulo. The study included information from 1,173 women who underwent collection of Pap smear and Gram-stained vaginal smears (reference standard test for bacterial vaginosis diagnosis) and analysis based on the Nugent score, from January 2013 to June 2020. Secondary data collected from the information and internal control systems were used. Results: the prevalence of bacterial vaginosis in the sample was 31.8%. The degree of agreement between the two diagnostic methods by the Kappa index was 0.54, considered moderate, with a value <0.001. Sensitivity was 55.2% and specificity was 94.1%, with accuracy of 81.7% and positive predictive value of 81.4% and negative of 81.8%. Conclusion: Pap smear showed agreement with the reference standard of 0.77, however, does not replace the Gram-stained vaginal smear, but can be used as an auxiliary method for bacterial vaginosis diagnosis.

The adapted and validated version of the Three-Dimensional Work Fatigue Inventory (3D-WFI) was used to assess fatigue. The means were compared, and variance analysis (ANOVA) was performed with the Bonferroni test and t-test. The statistically significant variables (p<0.05) remained in the model. Results: the participants were 42 (± 9.4) on average; most were women, 279 (87.7%); 225 (70.8%) had children; and 313 (98.4%) reported performing house chores along with online teaching. In addition to the activities concerning undergraduate programs, 88 (27.7%) participants also performed activities in graduate programs. An association was found between course modality (entirely online or face-to-face, or hybrid) and the dimensions: physical fatigue (p=0.041), mental fatigue (p=0.001), and emotional fatigue (p=0.019), and between taking care of children and help them with school tasks while also teaching classes online and physical fatigue (p=0.012), mental fatigue (p=0.001), and emotional fatigue (p=0.000). Conclusion: the significant differences between course modality and the three dimensions of fatigue (physical, mental, and emotional) showed that the participants experienced physical and mental fatigue during and after work.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the gender-based differences regarding triggering, clinical presentation and coping of fibromyalgia. Method: an integrative literature review of the narrative type and conducted in five stages, about how research studies discuss the gender-based differences regarding fibromyalgia. It was carried out in November 2022 with the fibromyalgia/fibromialgia and gender/gênero descriptors in the LILACS, MEDLINE, BDENF and IBECS databases via BVS and PubMed. The studies included were those published in the last 10 years, available in full and of free access, in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Results: a total of 16 research studies conducted in United States, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Egypt, Israel, Italy and Colombia were analyzed. No studies were found in Brazil, an only one of them includes a nurse as author. There is a prevalence of fibromyalgia in females and it is agreed that belonging to this gender can be a risk factor for the disease, due to the lower pain threshold and greater sensitivity to pressure and temperature. Men and women have different pain perceptions and experiences, which can generate underdiagnosis among the former. There are few male participants in the research studies. Only one survey addressed the transgender population. Conclusion: there are divergent conclusions, with controversial data and hypotheses to explain the diagnostic disparity between the genders, and the low number of diagnosed men impacts on research studies. There is a broad field to be explored in Brazil about this topic and there is an evident need for research studies with transgender people. Analyses that correlate all genders may help reorganize fibromyalgia management to promote the patients' well-being and quality of life.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map diverse evidence on perspectives and challenges for implementing the Expert Patient Program. Method: this is a scoping review, guided by the method proposed by the JBI and which followed the recommendations set forth in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews, with its research protocol registered in the Open Science Framework, with DOI:10.17605/OSF.IO/D7K6A. The search for studies was carried out in July 2022 in databases and in national and international portals of theses and dissertations. Results: the final sample consisted of six scientific articles, all written in English. Health professionals' qualification, to identify and qualify expert patients, management's commitment to the program, use of mobile technologies and Evidence-Based Practice are among the perspectives for implementation. The challenges are related to lack of understanding of the term "self-management" and to the deficit of public policies and financial investment. Conclusion: the results found emphasize the importance of implementing the Patient Expert Program for the public health context, mainly in relation to the population with chronic non-communicable diseases.
