ABSTRACT Objective: to know nurses' perception in relation to the Nursing Process directed to newborns in a usual risk maternity ward. Method: an action-research study was conducted between September 2021 and January 2022 with nurses from a usual risk maternity ward in southern Brazil. The data collected through focus groups were submitted to content analysis. Results: the organized and analyzed data resulted in two thematic categories, namely: Nursing process: a self-reflection and self-criticism inducing device; and Nursing process: a (re)signifying care tool for newborns. In synthesis, it is shown that the Nursing Process is a driver of best practices in the Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing context. Conclusions: the Nursing Process directed to the care of newborns in a usual risk maternity ward is not only constituted as a theoretical-methodological tool to guide and qualify the care provided, but as a self-reflection and professional self-criticism inducing technology, with a view to the development of new knowledge and practices both in the scope of management and in Nursing care.

ABSTRACT Objective: to discuss the process of allowing blood donation by the LGBTQIAP+ community by the Federal Supreme Court in contrast to the Legislation of the Regulatory Agency for Blood and Blood Components. Method: this is a reflective study, considering the principles and concepts of Pierre Bourdieu’s symbolic capital as a theoretical-methodological framework. Analysis was carried out in documents that dealt with the permission of blood donation by gay and bisexual men, such as bills, FSC decisions and media materials relevant to the proposed theme. Results: we argue that two historical events were decisive for the vote on the act of unconstitutionality by the Federal Supreme Court: the mobilization of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender social movements and the coronavirus pandemic. Conclusion: validation of the right to blood donation contributes to the exercise of citizenship of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the experiences of immigrants and their families related to integration in Brazil. Method: this is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, carried out in a municipality in southern Brazil. The informants were 13 immigrants who had lived in Brazil between six months and five years and who were able to communicate in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Data were collected between May and November 2021, through semi-structured interviews, audio-recorded and subjected to thematic content analysis. Results: the 13 participants were aged between 27 and 65 years (mean age 36 years), nine of whom were women, seven from Venezuela and the others from countries in South, Central America and Africa. Three categories emerged which show the adversities experienced, especially in relation to jobs (low wages, labor exploitation, non-recognition of academic titles), communication difficulties and distance from family. On the other hand, they also show satisfaction with public safety, health care and the possibility of personal and professional development. To maintain family unity and their origins, people in an immigration situation financially help members who could not migrate, make typical foods and use the native language in the home environment. Conclusion: integration into Brazilian society is permeated by challenges, namely the absence/distance from family of origin and/or constituted, lack of understanding of language, work and financial problems and social support network weakness. However, immigrants seek to maintain an adequate family functioning based on the support of institutions and the maintenance of the culture of origin.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the development of a virtual assistant as a potential tool for health co-production in coping with COVID-19. Method: this is an applied technological production research study developed in March and April 2020 in five stages: 1) literature review, 2) content definition, 3) elaboration of the dialog, 4) test of the prototype, and 5) integration with the social media page. Results: the literature review gathered diverse scientific evidence about the disease based on the Brazilian Ministry of Health publications and by consulting scientific articles. The content was built from the questions most asked by the population, in March 2020, evidenced by Google Trends, in which the following topics emerged: concept of the disease, prevention means, transmission of the disease, main symptoms, treatment modalities, and doubts. Elaboration of the dialog was based on Natural Language Processing, intentions, entities and dialog structure. The prototype was tested in a laboratory with a small number of user computers on a local network to verify the functionality of the set of apps, technical and visual errors in the dialog, and whether the answers provided were in accordance with the user's question, answering the questions correctly and integrated into Facebook. Conclusion: the virtual assistant proved to be a health education tool with potential to combat “Fake News”. It also represents a patient-centered form of health communication that favors the strengthening of the bond and interaction between health professionals and patients, promoting co-production in health.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the distinct features, incongruencies, and harmony between the features of Canadian-Brazilian community health nursing as well their practices. Method: ethnographic research conducted in primary healthcare clinics (city of João Pessoa, Brazil). Data collection unfolded from July to September 2018 and included direct, unstructured participant observation of collective social and professional-clientele interactions, with a structured personal digital log and reports of the researcher's observations, as well as social immersion in community settings. The fieldwork log was thematically analyzed to build the meaning of the comparative nursing practice. Results: analysis of observations’ reports identified challenges and opportunities to promote sustainable changes and create a supportive environment. Nurses’ competencies to promote health are in consonance with conceptual, political, and ethical sounding perspectives. Among the distinctive practices observed was that in Brazil, the prescribing practice has been well-established because legally the registered nurses are allowed to prescribe within the primary healthcare programs. In Canada, registered nurses have been granted authority to do so, upon receipt of specific training and under certain scope of advanced practice. Thematic analysis revealed uniqueness of the grasped information, incongruence between community health nursing practices and harmony between contextual practices of Brazil-Canada community health nursing composed the empirical evidence. Conclusions: this research uncovered the compatibility between Canadian and Brazilian practice as well as intricate features of Brazilian community health nurses. Unquestionably, the evidence sums up to the consolidation of the well-established Brazil-Canada cooperation in the field of primary health care. This evidence addresses the political perspective of cooperation for global health.

ABSTRACT Objective: reflect on the use of the integrative approach and its contribution as a methodological path for the development of situation specific theories in nursing. Method: reflexive study, considering the methodological framework of Im and Meleis and the possibilities of its incorporation into Brazilian nursing for the development of situation specific theories. Results: the following topics are presented: Integrative approach: possibilities to develop situations specific theories; and, Usefulness of the development of situation specific theories from the integrative approach. The reflection is based on the experience of using the methodological framework for the development of situation specific theories, in addition to discussing the potentialities the framework has regarding the construction of theories that guide nursing care in particular contexts. Conclusion: the integrative approach is underused in the Brazilian context of theory production, despite being a nursing reference. Therefore, it needs to be made visible to strengthen the development of knowledge that represents diverse and specific realities in order to advance in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map the necessary steps and components for operationalizing a synchronous and observational telesimulation design in the context of developing clinical competencies aimed at students and health professionals. Method a scoping review supported by the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews: Checklist and Explanation, and by the assumptions of the Joanna Briggs Institute Reviews’ manual method. The search was carried out in November 2021 in 13 databases, totaling nine studies in the final sample, which were then analyzed using Thematic Analysis. Results two categories were developed: steps and components for operationalizing a synchronous and observational telesimulation design; and challenges to implement synchronous and observational telesimulation. Conclusion operationalizing a synchronous and observational telesimulation has been supported by a six-step instructional design, characterized by planning, preparation, participation, teledebriefing, learner assessment/feedback collection and additional learning, capable of developing the students’ cognitive and affective skills. The relevant challenges to this context were also highlighted, configured by the need to obtain a sufficient technological structure for remotely transmitting the telesimulated scenario and an adequately trained faculty.

The relevant challenges to this context were also highlighted, configured by the need to obtain a sufficient technological structure for remotely transmitting the telesimulated scenario and an adequately trained faculty.","PeriodicalId":51188,"journal":{"name":"Texto Contexto Enfermagem","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89957380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
