ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze how Paulo Freire's theoretical framework can contribute to understanding the awareness-raising process about aging, by promoting health and self-care in aged women with osteoporosis and considering the socioeconomic and environmental factors involved in this process. Method: a qualitative and descriptive study conducted by means of secondary analysis of data from a primary study carried out between December 2019 and February 2020, which included 25 aged women treated in a Rheumatology health unit of a university hospital. This analysis intended to return to a corpus of previously collected data, aiming to reexamine them from a new investigative angle, Paulo Freire's theoretical perspective, which served as theoretical-methodological framework. Results: the findings of this research enabled an approach to the reality of aged women with osteoporosis through a critical reflection on the practice and sensitization inherent to the human essence. This allowed revealing aspects that were hidden and driving the creation of concrete action proposals in relation to the participants' reality. Conclusion: nurses' crucial role in the assistance provided to aged women with osteoporosis was verified, as well as the efficiency of a dialogical approach that values their self-care choices and skills. As a dynamic process that involves actions, reflections and new actions, the health perception strengthens Freire's perspective in the Nursing practice as a strategy to develop diverse knowledge and actions along with aged women with osteoporosis, aiming to promote emancipating assistance based on the care ethics.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to understand how nurses attribute meaning to their role in the interaction with children while using Therapeutic Play and building a Theoretical Model, representative of that experience. Method: a qualitative research study conducted in the light of Symbolic Interactionism and the Grounded Theory. The participants were eleven nurses of both genders and with experience in the use/teaching of this playful approach. Data were collected by means of participant observation and semi-structured interviews completed by story-drawing, simultaneously to the analysis following these steps: initial coding, categorization, theoretical coding, and apprehension of the central category until reaching theoretical saturation, enabling creation of the Theoretical Model. Results: two interactive phenomena were revealed. Striving to offer children welcoming and effective assistance through Therapeutic Play, which unveils nurses' sensitization towards children's/adolescents' distress, recognizing their playful nature and games as essential to their work, leading them to “embrace this cause”. Implementing actions so that Therapeutic Play becomes a reality in the care of children/adolescents, which describes the nurses' actions when they start using it helping children to cope with difficulties, favoring bond, catharsis, protagonism, welcoming, facing difficulties or receiving support from the institution, becoming famous as “nurses that play” and feeling gratified. Its integration allowed creating the Theoretical Model: Feeling gratified and fulfilled for promoting qualified and humanized assistance for children/adolescents by means of Therapeutic Play, representing the essence of this experience. Conclusion: by interacting playfully with children, nurses recognize several feelings that mobilize them: satisfaction, sense of responsibility and reciprocity, in addition to perceiving themselves as agents of change in favor of qualified playful care.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze associations between moral distress and ethical issues experienced by nurses during COVID-19. Method: this is a quantitative, cross-sectional study, carried out with 101 nurses working in university hospitals, between March and May 2022, through socio-occupational issues, ethical implications that lead to moral distress, and the Ethical Issues Experienced by Nurses in Emergency Questionnaire, adapted and validated for Brazilians. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson’s chi-square and multiple linear regression were used, and p<0.05 was adopted. Results: the 9 elements attributed to ethical implications were classified with some degree of importance for moral distress, with the highest average in the following items: I feel a commitment, responsibility and moral obligation to provide care to the infected population (4.26) and I have the knowledge or experience to work on the frontline of COVID-19 (3.44). The association of moral distress with ethical issues showed that individuals who attributed high importance to ethical implications also had ethical issues at a moderate/high level, emphasizing a higher mean in questions of “patient care” (4.07). It was evident that participants’ moral distress was more affected by the following constructs: “perception of hospital measures against COVID-19” (p=.000), “ethical issues in patient care” (p=.000) and “perception of social stigmatization” (p=.000). Conclusion: when relating ethical issues to moral distress, it was possible to show that COVID-19 generated an abrupt change in nurses’ work routine, which hinders adequate decision-making in situations involving issues beyond care, but also at a professional and organizational level, leading to the experience of moral distress.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map and validate, together with specialists, actions to be performed by the Primary Health Care nurse for the continuity of care to the user, after hospital discharge. Method: validation study with qualitative/quantitative approach. The nursing actions were mapped through two focus groups with 11 nurses; one in a Basic Health Unit and 10 in Family Health Strategies in the municipality of Catanduva, SP, Brazil (qualitative stage) and complemented by other sources. The analysis of the reports occurred through the use of content analysis. The Delphi technique was adopted for content validation by 11 experts with a pre-established consensus of 0.80 and calculation of the content validity index (quantitative stage). The data was collected between December 2019 and March 2022. Results: nine categories emerged related to the active search for the user/family; scheduling and conducting home visits; matrix support; organization of follow-up; training of caregivers/family members; coordination of the health team; strengthening of professional/patient/family relationships and participation in educational and evaluative actions. The mapping of the actions generated 18 items. There were two rounds of the Delphi Technique. In the first, the content validity index ranged from 0.73 to 1.0 and, in the next, from 0.90 to 1.0. Conclusion: the validation of 17 of the proposed actions can guide the practice of nurses and contribute to the monitoring and strengthening of continued care and in a network centered on the strengths of users/families/community.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: to understand how nurses describe the challenges and construction of knowledge related to the care provided to people with post-COVID-19 syndrome. METHOD: this is qualitative-descriptive research, guided by the social constructionist perspective, carried out with seven nurses in a 24-hour Emergency Care Unit located in Minas Gerais. Data were collected from March to June 2022 through recorded semi-structured interviews. Data analysis took place through the transcription of interviews, followed by a curious reading of the material and definition of categories, step-by-step, anchored by social constructionism. The theoretical framework was composed of the set of authors who helped in the analysis and discussion of the categories constructed to respond to the study objectives. RESULTS: four categories emerged from the interviews, namely: 1) Initial reflexes of the pandemic, in which nurses’ feelings of fear, concern and insecurity were evidenced; 2) COVID-19 traces, of which the respiratory sequels caused by the disease stood out; 3) Knowledge about post-COVID-19 syndrome, which detected lack of knowledge about signs and symptoms and nursing care, due to lack of training and use of protocols; 4) Care for post-COVID-19 syndrome, which highlighted the lack of knowledge about referring people to rehabilitation services. CONCLUSION: despite the lack of protocols and training provided by the institution, nursing professionals provided assistance care on knowledge provided by their experiences and the exchange of experiences with other collaborators.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the possible associations between stress and suffering with personal, work and lifestyle variables. Method: cross-sectional, quantitative, exploratory, correlational, conducted from June 2019 to February 2020. Data on personal characteristics, life habits and working conditions were obtained with the application of a questionnaire. To assess stress, the Nurses’ Stress Inventory (Inventário de Estresse em Enfermeiros) was used and, for suffering, the Pleasure and Suffering Indicators at Work Scale was applied, both in the Brazilian versions. Results: stress was associated with dissatisfaction with remuneration, indicators of suffering and interest in changing jobs and professions. The comparisons between the indicators of suffering and the domains of stress investigation were significant. Conclusion: the stress experienced in nurses' work activity is strongly influenced by low remuneration, leading them to wish to change jobs and professions. Professional burnout and lack of recognition are stressors that drive defense mechanisms, among them, the desire to change jobs.

ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate the level of knowledge of nurses in Basic Health Units and their engagement in monitoring patients with sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies. Methods: this is a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory study, carried out with 12 nurses from basic health units in the municipality of Santa Luzia/Minas Gerais between August 2018 and February 2019. The semi-structured interview was the technique used for data collection, which was analyzed using Content Analysis. Results: the analysis of the interviews emerged in the construction of three categories: understanding of sickle cell disease, risk factors, and alterations on physical examination; nursing care at the health unit according to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health; obstacles and facilitators for the tracking and identification of patients. Discourse analysis highlighted: the outstanding presence of misconceptions regarding sickle cell disease; the absence of effective follow-up of patients in the area covered by the nurse; and the non-existence of a positive sickle cell disease patient link with primary care. Conclusion: although nursing plays a fundamental role in monitoring and assisting patients with sickle cell disease, the study revealed a significant gap between care recommendations and practice in basic health units.

ABSTRACT Objective: to develop a unitary caring program for mothers of children with Congenital Zika Syndrome. Method: this is a methodological study, based on Unitary Caring Science, developed in two phases: creation, consisting of six moments, and content validity, through the participation of 36 experts on the subject, professional caregivers and mothers. The Content Validity Index and the Content Validity Ratio were used for data analysis. Results: the program was named CACTO, composed of seven care modalities: Taking care of my mind; Upright and correct position; Taking care of my sleep; Family that is together; Mirror mirror on the wall; Mother who takes care of mother; Facing prejudices. CACTO was validated with a Content Validity Index ≥0.88 and critical Content Validity Ratio values greater than or equal to the cutoff point defined for each group of experts. Conclusion: the translation of Unitary Caring Science into a care program encourages professionals to promote innovative care, valuing acceptance, autonomy, citizenship and critical awareness, advocating in favor of emancipatory interactional care. CACTO is a technological innovation that can transform professional care, promote the resolution of mothers’ health needs and enhance the quality of life of children with Congenital Zika Syndrome, family and caregivers themselves.

ABSTRACT Objective: to map the competencies developed in training strategies for air transport practices for patients, in the face of emergency situations and disasters involving chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) agents. Method: this is a scoping review structured in accordance with the JBI and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Metanalyses extension for Scoping Reviews recommendations. The study was carried out in five stages: search for sources in 17 databases, an information portal and two repositories of gray literature, using 125 DeCS, MeSH and Emtree descriptors, without temporal and idiomatic clipping; selection; critical reading of the texts selected by two double-blind reviewers; summary of results and presentation of mapped competencies. Results: a total of 878 studies were analyzed, of which 18 composed the sample. In all, 11 competencies were mapped, with emphasis on the technical training domain. Competencies refer especially to technical-scientific knowledge in disaster situations involving CBRN agents and the safety of patients and professionals involved. Conclusion: the operationalization of artifices to improve qualification processes based on competencies proved to be strategic to increase the quality and safety of patient air transport practices. The approach of the sources on specific aspects of the particularities of practices related to emergencies and disasters involving CBRN agents in training/training processes demonstrates the academic effort to promote the reduction of the risk of these events when, in due course, civil and military institutions and their health operators are activated.

ABSTRACT Objective: to validate the content of educational videos for incarcerated women, in the light of health literacy. Method: methodological study with development of three videos for incarcerated women with themes chosen by them (Menstrual Cycle, Arterial Hypertension and Epilepsy), developed in four stages: construction of storyboards, validation by expert judges, construction of videos and validation by the public. The validation process was performed by seven judges with the Health Educational Content Validation Instrument, the Suitability Assessment of Materials and readability analysis. For approval, it was established that the agreement between judges should be higher than 80%, and the adequacy, according to the SAM, should be 40-100%. The incarcerated women evaluated the videos in August 2022, in a women's public prison in Ceará, using the Assistive Technology Assessment Instrument, considering the level of agreement of the positive responses above 70%. Results: the validation instrument result of the storyboards ranged from 0.92 to 1.0. In the Suitability Assessment, a percentage of 85.2% to 88.8% was reached, categorizing the materials as superior. As for readability, the values obtained (70.9 to 78.1) place the texts as easy or very easy to read. The evaluation by the target audience showed that the videos were adequate (97.8-100%). Conclusion: the three videos constructed were suitable for incarcerated women, with evidence of content validity and may be used in health education actions for this public.
