Different intra-articular injection substances following temporomandibular joint arthroscopy and their effect on early postoperative period: A randomized clinical trial. 颞下颌关节镜手术后不同的关节内注射物质及其对术后早期的影响:随机临床试验。

Objective: To compare the effect of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF), hyaluronic acid (HA), and saline intra-articular injections following temporomandibular joint arthroscopy on decreasing pain and increasing maximal mouth opening.

Methods: Included patients were randomized into three groups: PRGF group, hyaluronic acid group, and control group. Intra-articular injections were done at the end of the arthroscopy. Pain was measured using the VAS scale preoperatively, 7 days, 1 month, and 6 months postoperatively. Maximal mouth opening was measured preoperatively and 7 days postoperatively.

Results: There was a statistically significant decrease in pain in all groups, although, the decrease was significantly greater in the HA group following surgery.

Conclusion: A hyaluronic acid injection following temporomandibular joint arthroscopy can decrease pain better than saline and platelet-rich plasma during the first postoperative week. However, the results do not differ in later postoperative periods.

Rethinking Design Ethics from the Perspective of Spinoza 从斯宾诺莎的视角重新思考设计伦理学

This article proposes a new theoretical direction for design ethics, recognizing its significance in today's technology and philosophical debates on what constitutes goodness. Current discussions often overlook these debates, leaving designers in ethical dilemmas without principles to articulate design ethics. We argue for a philosophical and ontological approach encouraging reflections on systems and politics beyond economics. This article introduces a new schema for reimagining design ethics through four aspects, supported by theoretical insights from three key concepts in Spinoza's Ethics: multifaceted perception and ingenium, the pursuit of activity, and a relational interpretation of his ontology. This article offers significant insights into the essence of goodness, and it tackles the ethical challenges prevalent in atomized societies and structural issues, serving as a theoretical guide for design alternatives in our contemporary realities.

Personas as Public, Audience, and Stereotype: A Critical Inquiry 公众角色、受众角色和刻板印象:一项批判性调查

Personas are a widely used tool in design but have yet to receive much consolidated critical analysis. This article presents a critical inquiry into the creation of personas in design practice and research, culminating in a new way of thinking about persona development. The study employs an integrative literature review of design publications to examine and revisit benefits, potential pitfalls, and accepted wisdom on personas. The article then sets the foundation for a design thinking–based process of persona creation, drawing on persuasive design and participatory design research, and areas for future development of research and inquiry.

The modern design profession is often considered a product of the Industrial Revolution's division of labor, which separated the ideation of artifacts from their execution. As part of the same legacy, where industrial manufacturing—as a system—was premised on the exploitation of extractive materials and fossil fuels, designers are natural-born miners. Designing entails crucial decisions on which and how much materials to mine, blast, drill, excavate, or fell. This article argues for an expanded view of the subject matter and the methods of design history, as designing with, designing without, and designing out extractive materials are crucial parameters in both the history and the future of the human-built world.
