In this paper, a multivariable control of a two-link robot is performed by fuzzy-sliding mode control. Robots on the one hand have complex dynamics due to nonlinearity, uncertainty and indeterminacy resulting from friction and other factors. The uncertainty and nonlinearity of the governing equations more and more necessitates the use of these two types of controllers in spite of a two-link and multivariable dynamic system. In this paper simulation, a fuzzy system is used in two parts. In the first part, a fuzzy system is used to approximate the uncertainty of the robot arm dynamic model in the control law and in the second part the nonlinear term of the signal function is replaced by an adaptive neuro-fuzzy controller to produce appropriate k s and to track the output properly. The comparison of simulation results suggests that the intelligent method based on the proposed adaptive neuro-fuzzy control has better performance in tracking reference signal with slight tracking error and higher accuracy compared to sliding mode method.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) measures the relative efficiency of Decision-Making Units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. In the case of considering a working team as a DMU, it often comprises multiple positions with several employees. However, there is no method to measure the efficiency of employees individually taking account the effect of teammates. This paper presents a model to measure the efficiency of employees such that they are fairly evaluated regarding relative performances of their teammates. Moreover, the learning expectations and the effect of learning lost due to operation breaks are incorporated into the DEA model. This model is thus able to rank the employees working in each position that can then be utilized within award systems. The capabilities of the proposed model are then explored by a case study of 20 wells with 160 distinct operations in the South Pars gas field, which is the first application of DEA in the oil and gas wells drilling performance analysis.

Statistical monitoring of dynamic networks is a major topic of interest in complex social systems. Many researches have been conducted on modeling and monitoring dynamic social networks. This article proposes a new methodology for modeling and monitoring dynamic social networks for detection of anomalies in network structures using latent variables. The key idea behind our proposed methodology is to determine the importance of latent variables in creating edges between nodes as well as observed covariates. First, latent space model (LSM) is used to model dynamic networks. Vector of parameters in LSM are monitored through multivariate control charts in order to detect changes in different network sizes. Experiments on simulated social network monitoring demonstrate that our surveillance monitoring strategy can effectively detect abrupt changes between actors in dynamic networks using latent variables.

The present work aims to investigate Abrasive Water Jet Machining parameters for machining of AlAl2O3 Metal Matrix Composite. Plan of experiments, based on Taguchi’s analysis technique were performed using L9 orthogonal array. A correlation was established between concentration of Al2O3, Stand-off distance, pressure and Transverse feed with Metal Removal Rate, Surface Roughness, Overcut and Taper angle by regression analysis. On the basis of experimental results and S/N ratio analysis, ranking of the parameters has been done. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) has been used to find out the impact of individual parameters on response parameters. Al2O3 concentration plays a very significant role in determination of MRR and surface roughness. Also overcut is largely influenced by stand off distance. Furthermore, multi-objective optimization can be carried out using advanced optimization techniques. This work helped to generate technical database for industrial applications of MMC.

According to the real projects’ data, activity durations are affected by numerous parameters. In this research, we have developed a multi-resource multi objective multi-mode resource constrained scheduling problem with stochastic durations where the mean and the standard deviation of activity durations are related to the mode in which each activity is performed. The objective functions of model were to minimize the net present value and makespan of the project. A simulation-based optimization approach was used to handle the problem with several stochastic events. This feature helped us to find several solutions quickly while there was no need to take simplification assumptions. To test the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, several test problems were taken from the PSPLIB directory and solved. The results show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm both in quality of the solutions and the speed.

In this paper, a discrete time state space model for a four-level supply chain system including factory, wholesaler, retailer, and customer is designed with a recovery center as recycling hybrid channels. Due to the lack of coordination between the chain level and the unhealthy exchange of information in the system, almost all supply chain dynamics involve stochastic noise. For the first time, in this paper, we investigated that stochastic noise led to the bullwhip effect. Also, we probed the effect of lead time, various forecasting methods, and aggressive ordering on the bullwhip effect in the proposed supply chain. In order to mitigate the bullwhip effect, the Kalman filter method was proposed. Therefore, by using linear quadratic Gaussian controllers, not only the effect of the bullwhip effect was adjusted but also the system became stable. Eventually, the simulation results of Meshkin match factory indicate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Optimal consumption is known as a nowadays concern which is related to scientific improvement, development of technology, product design, design and development based on standards, proper distribution of resources and, consequently, advancement in other less considered areas. Considering marketing, people are persuaded to purchase and consume the products throughout the gamification principles, even if this is more than the users’ needs. This cross-sectional study focused on consumption patterns and gamification. The main objectives of this research was to provide a modified pattern of purchasing and consuming bread through persuading the families. This study was done by simulated gamification patterns and assessment of participants’ feedback. The data was collected through literature review and interviews from a sample consisting of 25 students in the primary school. The results showed that gamification as a main factor was an appropriate stimulus for persuading purchasing and consumption behavior modification. However, the addition of mechanics in a relationship is not enough per se; reinforcement is required to enhance the quality of the perceived experience.

In the last few decades, profile monitoring in univariate and multivariate environment has drawn a considerable attention in the area of statistical process control. In multivariate profile monitoring, it is required to relate more than one response variable to one or more explanatory variables. In this paper, the multivariate multiple linear profile monitoring problem is addressed under the assumption of existing autocorrelation among observations. Multivariate linear mixed model (MLMM) is proposed to account for the autocorrelation between profiles. Then two control charts in addition to a combined method are applied to monitor the profiles in phase II. Finally, the performance of the presented method is assessed in terms of average run length (ARL). The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control charts have appropriate performance in signaling out-of-control conditions.

The article deals with the integrated harmonious structure deviation indicator in the system of postgraduate training, which is constructed according to the rule of the “golden ratio”. Calculated deviation of the indicator of five-sector model that corresponds to the GDP in the post-industrial economy. Selecting components integrated th indicator deviation from the harmonious structure is based on the objective statistics and systematic research of GDP from a five-sector model. According to the proposed method of estimation of structural shifts in the sectoral structure of the educational environment, the integrated harmonious structure deviation indicator for the 2010/11-2018/19 academic years was calculated; the dynamics of the integrated harmonious structure deviation indicator for the GDP of Ukraine and for the higher educational system of Ukraine is compared. The calculation of the integrated harmonious structure deviation indicator in dynamics has led to the conclusion that over the last nine years there has been a tendency to train insufficient number of highly qualified specialists who provide the production of intellectual product, based on the requirements of the knowledge economy.
