It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of you once again to the latest issue of the Journal of Educational Sciences. This issue comprises a diverse range of research studies conducted by distinguished researchers from various parts of the Arab world. These researches examined a number of contemporary and pressing issues in the field of education. These are as follows: The level of pedagogical content knowledge among female new science teachers in the Sultanate of Oman in light of a number of variables: A longitudinal survey study; The effectiveness of a counseling program in developing social skills and reducing the level of withdrawal behavior among the persons with handicapped in Al- Shafalah Centre; Sultan Qaboos University students’ online learning self-efficacy during the spread of corona pandemic (Covid-19); Post-traumatic stress disorder and psychological security among a sample of families of coronavirus victims in the Gaza Strip; The effectiveness of an enrichment program in enhancing security awareness among tenth grade students in the Sultanate of Oman and their attitudes towards it; The extent of including the dimensions of scientific literacy in the projects participating in the globe environmental program in the Sultanate of Oman; The relationship between the mental health and attitude toward work among a sample of Syrian workers in the health sector residing inside and outside Syria (Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia) during the spread of coronavirus-19; The creative curriculum from the perspectives of early childhood teachers at Qatar University's Early Childhood Center; Dogmatism among students at King Saud University and its correlation with various factors; Developing an educational program based on artificial intelligence applications and evaluating its effectiveness in enhancing modern geographic concepts among gifted secondary school students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These studies have yielded multiple findings and presented valuable suggestions that can serve as potential avenues for new research topics. I encourage researchers to leverage the knowledge embedded in these studies to enhance their educational projects. By building upon the efforts of their peers in seeking a deeper understanding of educational issues, they can contribute to the enrichment of educational literature with fresh insights and perspectives. Moreover, I extend a gracious invitation to decision-makers to explore the findings and recommendations of these studies and harness them in their decision-making processes. By doing so, we can reinforce educational approaches that emphasize aligning educational decisions with the outcomes of scientific research. Wishing you a delightful and enriching reading experience.

Level of Pedagogical Content Knowledge among Female New Science Teachers in light of Several Variables: A longitudinal Survey Study 从几个变量看新入职女科学教师的教学内容知识水平:纵向调查研究

The current study aimed to measure the level of Pedagogical content knowledge of female new science teachers during the academic year for three times, in light of a number of variables: institution of preparation, GPA, classes taught by the teacher, years of experience, and the level of professional development. A longitudinal descriptive survey was conducted with a sample of (38) female teachers. The data were collected through lesson plans content analysis, class observations and semi-structures interviews. The results showed a statistically significant change (p < 0.05) in the level of pedagogical content knowledge, but this change was curvilinear. Also, the results indicated that there was no statistically significant interaction (p < 0.05) for the change in the level of pedagogical content knowledge and all variables, except for the professional development level in favor of teachers with high professional development level. The study recommended the necessity of providing continuous support to the new teachers in the workplace environment, offering continuous professional development programs that meet the needs of new teachers during their early years of teaching.

Building an Educational Program based on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Measuring its Effectiveness in Developing Modern Geographical Concepts among Gifted Students 构建基于人工智能应用的教育计划并衡量其在培养资优学生现代地理概念方面的效果

The current study aims to build a proposed educational program based on artificial intelligence applications, and measure its effectiveness in developing modern geographical concepts among gifted students at the secondary stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve that, an available random sample of (37) students was selected from the study community, where one of the secondary schools - the course system - in the Taif city was randomly selected, and five students from the study group were selected to conduct the case study after obtaining their consent to participate. The study adopted the triangulation methodology, which included three research methods, namely: The documentary descriptive approach to build the proposed educational program, the semi-experimental approach – with a single group design – to measure the effectiveness of the proposed educational program, and the case study approach to enrich the study with qualitative data that support the interpretation of quantitative findings. Quantitative study data were collected using the Cognitive Achievement Test for Modern Geographical Concepts. The quasi-codified interview questions were also used to collect qualitative data. Quantitative data were analyzed by appropriate descriptive and inferential statistical methods using the SPSS; the qualitative data of the case study were arranged and classified, while its findings were displayed in a manner based on the rooted method of qualitative data analysis. The findings of the study in its quantitative aspect disclosed the existence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01≥α) between the average scores of the study group in the pre- and post-applications of the variable adopted in the cognitive achievement test for modern geographical concepts dimensional application, in favor of the post-application. The findings also revealed a significant (high) impact of the proposed educational program, with an impact factor of (7.28). The ratio of the block coefficient of adjusted gain for the dependent variable reached (1.27), which indicates the high effectiveness of the variable dependent on the educational program. The qualitative findings also confirmed the pioneering role of the educational program in providing gifted students with modern geographical concepts, as they relate to their current reality. Based on the findings of the study, a list of relevant recommendations and proposals were presented.

Implications of the Creative Curriculum from the Perspectives of Educators in Qatar University Early Childhood Center 从卡塔尔大学幼儿中心教育工作者的角度看创意课程的意义

To better understand the effectiveness of any implemented early childhood curriculum, it is vital to pay attention to the experiences of early childhood educators who practiced that curriculum. The purpose of this research is to investigate early childhood educators' experiences with the Creative Curriculum that has been implemented at the Early Childhood Center of Qatar University since 2015. In this phenomenological research, the methodology includes: (a) in-depth phenomenologically based interviews, (b) follow-up online interviews, and (c) a focus group meeting with the teachers. Eight early childhood educators with a wide range of experiences presented their own experiences with the Creative Curriculum. The findings revealed that by implementing the Creative Curriculum, teachers were encouraged to integrate all aspects of the Curriculum. Teachers were inspired to pay close attention to their children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development and to respond appropriately. This research provides insights and future implications about this specific curriculum in the early childhood field.

أهداف الدراسة: هدفت الدارسة الحالية إلى بناء نموذج سببي مقترح للعلاقة بين التفهم الوجداني، والاستماع الفعَّال، وأنماط اتصال الاختصاصيِّين النفسيين مع المسترشدين في أثناء الجلسة الإرشادية. منهجية الدراسة: لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، استُخدم المنهج الوصفي (الارتباطي)، وشملت عينة الدراسة (224) من الاختصاصيِّين النفسيين الذين يقدمون خدمات الرعاية النفسية للمسترشدين في مدينة الرياض، طُبق مقياس التفهم الوجداني الذي أعدَّه الطراونة (2019)، ومقياس الاستماع الفعَّال الذي أعدَّه (Asai, Hiraizumi, & Hanzawa,2020)، ومقياس أنماط الاتصال مع المرضى الذي أعدَّه السموحي (2015). نتائج الدراسة: أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود ارتباطات موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (α≤0.05) بين مقياس التفهم الوجداني، والاستماع الفعَّال، ومقياس أنماط الاتصال مع المسترشدين في أثناء الجلسة الإرشادية، ووجودَ أثرٍ مباشرٍ ذي دلالة إحصائية لكل من التفهم الوجداني والاستماع الفعَّال في أنماط التواصل مع المسترشدين في أثناء الجلسة الإرشادية؛ إذ بلغ معامل الارتباط (R) (0.622)، وعدمَ وجود تأثيرات مباشرة دالة إحصائيًا عند مستوى الدلالة (α≤0.05) للاستماع الفعَّال في التفهم الوجداني؛ إذ بلغ معامل الارتباط (R) (0.018)، وأخيرًا أشارت معاملات المسار إلى أن مقياس الاستماع (بوصفه متغيرًا مستقلًّا) يفسر ما نسبته (20.1%) من تباين المتغير (أنماط الاتصال المتبعة مع المسترشدين في أثناء الجلسة الإرشادية).

هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن كيفية توظيف الرياضيات المجتمعية في كتب الرياضيات والدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة المتوسطة في المملكة العربية السعودية، إضافة إلى معرفة آراء الخبراء في ذلك. واتبعت الدراسة المنهج المختلط (المزيج)، الذي يتمثل في المنهجين الوصفي التحليلي عن طريق تحليل كتب الرياضيات والدراسات الاجتماعية للمرحلة المتوسطة، وكذلك المنهج النوعي عن طريق النظرية المجذرة. واستخدمت الدراسة أداتين، وهما: بطاقة تحليل المحتوى لكتب الرياضيات والدراسات الاجتماعية، وأسئلة المقابلة شبه المقننة، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود موجهين رئيسين لتوجه الرياضيات المجتمعية، وهما: الأسس التي يقوم عليها تطوير مناهج الرياضيات، وأهداف توظيف الرياضيات المجتمعية في كتب الرياضيات والدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة المتوسطة. كما أبانت إجابات الخبراء أن هناك مجالات ينبغي التركيز عليها عند توظيف الرياضيات المجتمعية في تلك الكتب، وهي: "الرياضيات للحياة، والرياضيات في العمل، والرياضيات جزء من التراث الثقافي، والرياضيات للمجتمع العلمي والتقني". وكشفت نتائج تحليل كتب الرياضيات توفر فقرات الرياضيات المجتمعية في مجال الرياضيات للحياة بنسبة (90%)، وفي مجال الرياضيات للعمل بنسبة (62.5%)، وبلغت في مجال الرياضيات لمجتمع علمي وتقني نسبة (71.43%)، وأخيرًا في مجال الرياضيات بصفتها جزءًا من التراث الثقافي نسبة (71.43%). في حين كشفت نتائج تحليل كتب الدراسات الاجتماعية عن توفر فقرات الرياضيات المجتمعية في مجال الرياضيات للحياة بنسبة (100%)، وفي مجال الرياضيات للعمل بنسبة (62.5%) وتوفرت في مجال الرياضيات لمجتمع علمي وتقني بنسبة (71.43%)، وأخيرًا توفرت فقرات مجال الرياضيات بصفتها جزءًا من التراث الثقافي بنسبة (28.57%). وفي الختام قُدمت مجموعة من التوصيات والمقترحات المناسبة للدراسة.
