Abstract This article was written based on research made in 2015 with young high school teachers in public and private schools from the city of Campinas (SP). Aiming to comprehend the training trajectory and work experiences of these subjects, we interviewed 12 teachers aged 20–29 years. We found that the option for the teaching position is viewed by this group as a possibility for contributing, as culture producers, to social changes, and as a viable professional choice given their social and economic condition. The conditions in which teachers work show different factors about the content and meaning of teaching, as well as about their decision to stay in teaching.

Abstract This text aims to discuss de struggles in the educational area in the National Constituent Assembly and its historical origins, following the theoretical and political ideas of sociologist and constituent deputy Florestan Fernandes. The challenge of breaking the democracy’s Gordian knot in its articulation with the public education agenda constitute the reading key used to follow Fernandes’ manifestations in the Constituent Assembly. The sources used were his articles in newspapers and his speeches in the Constituent Assembly, which are organized in collections and are available in the digital files of the Congress. In parallel with the four stages of the Constituent Assembly, we read Florestan Fernandes’ texts and discourses in a chronological path that followed its main moments. Thus, the analyzed material was organized into three core themes deeply related to the hopes and impasses of the constituent process: (i) Historical challenges of the Constituent Assembly; (ii) The constituent process, popular participation, and education; and (iii) The transacted transition and the limits of the “New Republic.” This last stage already shows the limits that the Constituent Process faced, which, again in Brazilian history, prevented the rupture of the Gordian knot of democratic reforms.

Abstract The essay addresses how genealogical research can contribute to make visible, in the educational processes, blind zones in any diagram of social forces or dispositives of knowledge and power in which children can exert resistance. We use literature to exemplify the strength of children’s inventiveness. We discuss some dimensions of genealogical research: the examination of subjectivation processes; the analysis of the consistency plan and the chance of struggle; the discontinuous sense of history and the weight of tradition; researcher’s sensation of strangeness and attention; the facing of the effects of truth and its dismantling, aiming to escape, not power itself, but particular strategies of the relations of knowledge and power.

Resumo Este artigo visa investigar os dilemas em torno da prática do skate através das cartas que foram publicadas na revista Overall. Essa revista contou com 19 edições entre 1985 e 1990, sendo que, ao todo, 107 cartas foram publicadas ao longo deste período. A década de 1980 pode ser compreendida como um momento-chave para a esportivização desta atividade, entretanto, ela marca, paradoxalmente, o período no qual se desencadeiam concepções ambivalentes sobre o skatismo, sobretudo acerca de sua prática nas ruas. Tais cartas foram um reflexo desse paradoxo, pois, ao passo que muitos skatistas se sentiam confiantes pela existência da Overall como um elemento de fomento desta atividade como um esporte, muitos também reclamavam das coibições e proibições que a prática ensejava.

Resumo O presente estudo objetivou recensear a produção científica de Dança, em formato de artigo, nos periódicos nacionais de Educação Física. Para isso, realizou-se a análise do conteúdo de artigos publicados em 26 periódicos selecionados entre 1987 e agosto de 2020. Encontrou-se 363 artigos no recorte temporal em tela, com enfoques em assuntos, Webqualis e referenciais bibliográficos variados. Pode-se elucidar em que contextos se encontram as produções sobre Dança nacionais, seus destaques e seus principais referenciais bibliográficos. Ao fim, considerou-se que as discussões sobre Dança e aspectos educacionais se mostram predominantes nos achados, assim como o uso de referenciais bibliográficos com certas proximidades teóricas e práticas com atividades dançantes.

Abstract We present the results of a survey conducted with students who are members of a student council at a public school in Santa Catarina. We seek to answer the question: what subject is the school producing in contemporary democracy? Based on post-structuralism, we aim to problematize the democratic practices of a student council. We used Deleuze, Guattari, and Foucault as our main theoretical framework. For data collection, we used a field diary composed of audios recorded at council meetings and transcriptions. Although the student council reflects on democratic management and establishes a space of multiple possibilities, it operates simultaneously as an extension of the curriculum by producing the docile, useful, and participative subject demanded by our time.
