Die vorliegende Studie wurde durchgefuhrt, um die Angstzustande im Fremdsprachenunterricht von Studierenden der Abteilung Deutsch als Fremdsprache auf Lehramt zu ermitteln und die genannten Zustande im Fremdsprachenunterricht anhand verschiedener Variablen zu untersuchen. In der Untersuchung wurde das Survey-Modell verwendet. Insgesamt 70 Studierende, die an der Anadolu Universitat Deutsch als Fremdsprache studieren, bilden die Stichprobe der Untersuchung. Die aus der Studie erhaltenen quantitativen Daten wurden mit der „Befragung zur Angst im Fremdsprachenunterricht“ von Horwitz gesammelt, die er mit Horwitz und Cope zusammen (1986) entwickelt hat und die von Aydin und Zengin (2008) ins Turkische ubertragen wurde. Die qualitativen Daten dagegen wurden mit einem halbstrukturierten Interviewformular gesammelt. Zur Analyse der Daten wurden deskriptive Statistiken, eine Einweg-Varianzanalyse (One-Way-ANOVA) und eine Inhaltsanalyse verwendet. Aus den Ergebnissen der Studie geht hervor, dass die Fremdsprachenangst der Studierenden auf einem mittleren Niveau liegt. Daruber hinaus wurde der Entschluss gezogen, dass sich das Geschlecht der Studierenden, die Art des besuchten Gymnasiums und das Sprachniveau nicht auf die Angstzustande auswirkt, wohingegen ein Aufenthalt im Ausland, ein Auslandssemester und ein Vorbereitungsjahr an einer Universitat erhebliche Auswirkungen auf die Angstzustande aufzeigt. Auserdem wurde festgestellt, dass die Grunde fur die Angst der Studierenden durch externe Faktoren wie Gruppenzwang sowie interne Faktoren wie Angst vor Fehlverhalten, mangelndem Selbstvertrauen und Scham in Bezug auf Grammatik, Wortauswahl und Aussprache verursacht wurden.

Following the cataloging of the body of alliterating word pairs in the Early Middle High German Rolandslied (Song of Roland) and the appearance of a new critical edition of Stricker’s Karl der Grose (Charlemagne), it is appropriate to explore the alliterating word pairs in Stricker’s Karl, to collect, analyze, and describe them in elation to other Early High German works. Existing research on Old and Early Middle High German is enhanced by use of additional data from the Classical Middle High German period. Following a chronological listing of the word pairs as they appear in Karl, the context is revealed in an alphabetical catalog of the pairs; connections to the Rolandslied and, when applicable, to the previous history of the word pairs, are revealed, thereby presenting an assessment of the nature of the catalog of the pairs in this work. Alliteration (stave rhyme) is understood here as following the Germanic tradition of only “staving” stressed syllables, while all vowels alliterate with other vowels. The initial combinations , , and stave only with themselves. The approximately 50 alliterating word pairs in Stricker’s Karl are compared with the 42 pairs documented in the Rolandslied, with special attention given to any changes. New pairs are identified, while known ones are assessed within their tradition of usage. This exploration suggests that many standard reference works have only represented the history of alliterating word pairs in the early stages of German in an incomplete fashion. This study, therefore, revises the history of the alliterating word pair in the early stages of the German language. Further studies will expand the catalog and allow for a more accurate appraisal of the role of alliterating word pairs in the history of German language and literature.

Die Kultur der turkischen Diaspora wird immer haufiger zum Forschungsgegenstand der Germanistik in Deutschland und im Ausland. Seit etwa zehn Jahren steigt die Zahl polnischer Germanisten, die sich mit diesem Themenkomplex wissenschaftlich und didaktisch beschaftigen. In dem vorliegenden Beitrag wird der Versuch unternommen, Moglichkeiten und Probleme bei der Implementierung der deutschturkischen Kultur in der germanistischen Lehrpraxis in Polen an ausgewahlten Beispielen zu prasentieren. Der Artikel bietet einen Uberblick uber kulturelle und historische Aspekte der polnisch-turkischen Beziehungen, die die Einbeziehung der deutschturkischen Kultur im Germanistikstudium in Polen fordern konnen. Weil der Einfluss deutscher Kunstler turkischer Herkunft auf die Entwicklung der Kultur in Deutschland immer groser wird, ist es auch notwendig, eine Frage nach ihrer Rezeption und Prasenz in Polen zu stellen. Im analytischen Teil des vorliegenden Textes wurden 24 Diplomarbeiten an der Kazimierz-Wielki-Universitat Bydgoszcz/Polen in thematischen Gruppen zusammengestellt und besprochen. Um sich einen Einblick in die Erwartungen und Kompetenzen kunftiger Germanisten verschaffen zu konnen, wurden die Studierenden in einer Umfrage nach ihrer Stellungnahme zu einer eventuellen Einbeziehung dieser Problematik im Germanistikstudium gefragt. Die Datenerhebungen wurden 2007 und 2020 durchgefuhrt. Dadurch ist es moglich festzustellen, inwieweit die in letzter Zeit veranderten politischen und gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen (Migrationskrise, Nationalismus, eine sichtbare Prasenz turkischer Studenten an polnischen Universitaten) die interkulturelle Offnung polnischer Studierenden (am Beispiel der Germanistik an der Kazimierz-Wielki-Universitat) beeinflussen.

his paper presents a textual analysis of election posters and programs of the right-wing populist party, Alternative fur Deutschland (AfD). The role of religion is examined in these texts. A corpus of posters and programs from the period 2016– 19 were utilized for this analysis. The study covers all state elections in this period: the German federal elections of 2017 and the elections to the European Parliament in 2019. Since election posters can be understood as multimodal texts, image research was conducted first. This revealed that only a few religion-related motifs were used on election posters. This was also the case for the imagery in the election manifestos. The analysis of the lexicon yielded different results. For both types of texts, religion-related lexicons referring to Islam clearly dominate compared to Christianity. The lexical analysis also shows that the subject of Judaism does not play any significant role in either type of text. With regard to embedding in discourses, the context and metaphor analysis shows the references to religious issues found and delimit identity and alterity. In both cases, only the superficial and external aspects are referred to. Christianity, as an identity reference, remains completely unspecific, whereas Islam is used as a threat scenario. In not one case is there engagement with the contents of faith. The central result of the study is that right-wing populist election advertising is not about a real confrontation between Christianity and Islam. Rather, the election campaign focuses on the rejection of Islam and thus on the rejection of migration.

Every user can take part in communication exchange and publish his or her knowledge, experience and his or her very own opinions. This study focuses on the genre of forums. I qualitatively (and according to discourse- or content-analytical criteria) analyzed the special features of such lay communication in the context of a specific forum. In terms of content, I am referring to a forum from Germany that deals with health issues. The aim was to examine how medical professionals and medical knowledge are valued. Since it is difficult to access exact numbers of users in the context of such a forum, I selected a specific website that appears in the list of the most visited websites, and that already has a special probability of being accessed due to its URL (hence the name): www.gesundheit.de (according to the legal notice, this forum is operated by Alliance Healthcare Germany, based in Frankfurt am Main). The topics were selected from posts published between December 2018 and April 2019. The contributions were transferred unchanged, i.e. including the orthographic and grammatical errors found in the original

Media reports have employed the metaphor Pulverfass “Pulverfass Balkan (Balkan Powder Keg)” in the past century to describe the Balkans in general, and the former Yugoslavia in particular, as an area in which unrest has repeatedly occurred and might continue to occur. In everyday and mass media discourse, the use of metaphors has an evaluation function, whereas in the representation of politically relevant processes a persuasive function through which the attitudes and evaluations of the text producer are conveyed to the readers. In this article we will use the example of the metaphor “Pulverfass Balkan (Balkan Powder Keg)” to show how it has become a rating pattern for German-speaking Balkan perceptions since the First World War. The focus of this paper is the analysis of this metaphor in the German-language media reports from the beginning of the First World War to the present - a century later – with the aim of finding out which functions they serve as a pattern of interpretation in the German-language media discourse on the security situation in the Balkans, more specifically in the former Yugoslavia. The concept of the metaphor used in this article draws on both conceptual metaphor theory and blending theory. Schwarz-Friesel (2015) examines the metaphorical utterance of the Balkan powder keg in the context of critical cognitive linguistics (CCL). The corpus for this paper consists of archives and articles available online (such as comments, reports, and interviews). The potential significance of the metaphorical expression of the Balkan powder keg is examined on the basis of the selected corpus.

For this reason, the whole plot is based on juxtaposing cognitive dichotomous factors such as: stupidity vs. wisdom, lie vs. truth, silence vs. scream and so on. Because the conscience, which the author appeals to is one of the human consciousness forms and therefore related to the knowledge and the truth. Therefore, theoretically, the corresponding investigation of the cognitive aspects of the representation techniques seems to be highly relevant. and authenticity in relation to episteme and gnosis primarily embodied by spatial and temporal constellations of action frameworks. Language diversity, oral reflection and graphical (orthographic) variations represent another authentication technique. Among the lateralization strategies, the epistemological reflections and their didactization, belongs the literary embodiment of epistemological semantics, such as collective thinking or memory, oral tradition, recognition and memory. The dominance of dialogical structures and the argumentative construction of the text or the argumentative notation function as a proof of epistemological text structure. Das Gemeindekind is one of the great examples to contribute to the research on German Moravian literature in the 19 th century.
