Sveučilišni udžbenik Socijalna ekonomija i socijalno poduzetništvo prva je sustavna i obuhvatna domaća publikacija koja se bavi ovim područjem, a nastala je kao rezultat teorijskih radova, empirijskih istraživanja te praktičnog iskustva koje su autori, Danijel Baturina i Zdenko Babić s Katedre za socijalnu politiku Pravnog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, stekli angažmanom na različitim međunarodnim projektima u području socijalne ekonomije, socijalnog poduzetništva i trećeg sektora. Cilj je udžbenika pružiti čitateljima konkretna znanja o ključnim konceptima s područja socijalne ekonomije i socijalnog poduzetništva, kako bi isti mogli razvojno djelovati i polučivati pozitivne socijalne pomake.

U ovoj knjizi, autori su vrlo uvjerljivo i utemeljeno pokazali kako uz bolje razumijevanje značenja i važnosti kreativnog uništavanja te njegovog djelovanja na konkurentnost, dohodovnu nejednakost, čovjekov okoliš, regulaciju financijskog tržišta, nezaposlenost te zdravlje i sreću, siromašne zemlje mogu napredovati i sustići bogate. To, naravno, nije nimalo laka zadaća, ali uz odgovarajuću regulativu slobodnog tržišta i dosljedno poštovanje kreativnog uništavanja, to se može postići.

Knjiga Social Enterprise in Central and Eastern Europe. Theory, Models and Practice nastala je u okviru International Comparative Social Enterprise Models – ICSEM1 – projekta koji je htio pokazati da će socijalno poduzetništvo kao polje imati puno više koristi od povezivanja napora na konceptualizaciji s velikom raznolikošću socijalnih poduzeća nego od dodatnog i ambicioznog pokušaja davanja obuhvatne definicije. Polazeći od hipoteze koja bi se mogla nazvati »nemogućnošću jedinstvene definicije«, ICSEM-ova se istraživačka strategija oslanjala na pristupe odozdo prema gore kako bi zahvatio fenomen socijalnih poduzeća u njihovom lokalnom i nacionalnom kontekstu. Ova je strategija omogućila uzimanje u obzir i davanje legitimiteta lokalno ugrađenim pristupima, istovremeno dopuštajući identifikaciju glavnih modela socijalnih poduzeća kako bi se područje definiralo na zajedničkim osnovama na međunarodnoj razini.

Decisions related to family policy are the results of settlement of axiological dilemmas, understood as the necessity to make a choice between different types of good. These settlements are made on the basis of adopted and implemented ideologies. The article discusses the main assumptions of family policy in the liberal, conservative, social liberal and feminist perspective. Then it presents selected consequences of ideological entanglement of family policy on the example of state interference in matrimonial and procreation decisions, the right to raise children and to reconcile parental and professional obligations. The final part of the text discusses the Charter of the Rights of the Family as an example of a proposal that aims to go beyond the strict ideological framework of state policy towards the family.

This article presents the findings of an extensive qualitative and quantitative in-depth study of precariousness among working population in Slovenia. Semi-structured interviews of a sample of people engaged in different forms of work and a survey of working population were conducted to identify the impact of the different forms of work on perceived employment and social security, access to skill and voice in the workplace, socio-economic status and future prospect. Our research confirms that implicit precariousness exists in all forms of work, but its magnitude (low, medium or high), depends on the contractual form. The greatest disparities were found in remuneration and working hours, while workers in all forms of work have only modest opportunities for training. The risk of poverty is also unrelated to the form of work and similarly all workers fear taking sick leave. There is also a pessimistic view of future prospects, including retirement. Taking into account the pandemic, which is threatening the wellbeing of millions, an ambitious response of regulatory regimes is required to ensure the best working conditions, training and fairness for all and to do so it is important to thoroughly understand various dimensions of precariousness.

Za svaku odabranu zemlju prvo se navode uvjeti za otkazivanje ugovora o radu, a zatim se pojašnjava koje skupine zaposlenih imaju posebnu zaštitu od otkaza. This paper explores employee attitudes on pay communication and pay transparency and compares perceptions from private and public sector employees. Primary research was conducted among 353 employees working in the public and private sector in Croatia. Research results indicate that employees from the public sector, when compared to employees from the private sector, showed a more positive attitude towards pay transparency, higher preference for pay transparency and willingness to communicate one’s pay. Employees from the public sector perceive greater beneficial effect of pay transparency than employees from the private sector. The pay communication policy and level of pay transparency can act as additional factors that attract employees to the public or private sector and thus cause employee sorting between the two sectors.

Equality between men and women in the exercise of rights is one of the fundamental principles of the European Union, which is enshrined in the acts of primary legislation and in secondary legislation. However, the directive did not ensure full equality of fathers and mothers with regard to reconciling professional and family obligations, which was the reason for the adoption of the new Directive 2019/1158, which contains provisions aimed at striking a balance between work and family obligations, and which was adopted on 20 June 2019. This Directive repeals Council Directive 2010/18/ EU, that is, Member States have a period of time to comply with the new Directive within three years of its entry into force. In addition to the importance of involving the father in childcare at a young age, the paper also points to EU legal acts that regulate the reconciliation of fathers’ professional and family responsibilities. In addition, an overview of available data on the use of childcare leave by fathers is provided. The paper pays particular attention to existing solutions at EU level for the use of parental and paternity leave, comparing them to those contained in the new Directive 2019/1158.
