Following Latour’s research itinerary, we are invited to enter his Laboratory in Paris, where a cartography of earthbound life forms is giving shape to new ecologies of possible worlds in the Anthropocene. A new mission for sociology and a new form of universality become both possible, through which we can learn ways of living amidst the ruins of Modernity, while sharing our territories with those who are escaping from theirs, due to the New Climate Regime.

“Socioanalisi”: primi elementi per una riformulazione della teoria sociale come analisi critica della sociazione “社会分析”:将社会理论重新表述为社会批判性分析的第一步

Starting from deep-rooted crisis of contemporary social sciences, we need to reformulate our theoretical approach in order to enhancing interpretative knowledge of our social realities. The first step of this analytic program is to deconstruct the historical paradigm of “critical theory” as a hypostatic way to explain social reality in its totality. From this perspective I propose a passage from “critical theory” to “socioanalysis” seen as an analytical-descriptive process without standardization. From this point of view the analysis of sociation (socioanalysis on the analogy of psychoanalysis) is always a critical approach to social reality because its explicative frame is not “prescriptive” but only “possible” (that is polyvalent). In this analytical context we have to confront with concept of ambivalence. This means that “things are in one way but they also are in another way”: existence, social life, interaction, agency, thought cannot be unequivocally interpreted. From this point of view I discuss two examples of contemporary theories that are implicitly ambivalent: the non-critical theory of Bruno Latour and the pragmatic theory of criticism of Luc Boltanski.

Concetti socio-materiali e critica sociale 社会物质观念与社会批评

The development of ICT has important consequences on social experience and on the processes of subjectivation. These changes have contributed to undermining some assumptions of sociological theory, such as the status of subject and object of knowledge, the concepts of actor, action and the social, the conditions of possibility of social criticism. The paper reconstructs some of the main logic of transformation of these assumptions, moving from a discussion of L. Gallino’s theses on the relationship between subjectivity, socio-technical change of the web, changes in the elaboration of knowledge and new forms of social criticism. It shows how the epistemic shift generated by these changes leads to an anti-essentialist critique of sociological categories. In this line some critical potentialities of the Actor-Network Theory concepts, of the Goffmanian category of frame and of the infra-empirical perspective proposed by the socio-analysis are shown.

E abbastanza comprensibile che il modello del familismo amorale abbia avuto poca fortuna in Italia e sia stato accolto o da critiche acerbe come quelle di Gilberto Marselli, o dal silenzio e dall’indifferenza, e questo e stato l’atteggiamento di gran parte della cultura meridionalistica italiana. La ragione non va tanto cercata nella durezza di giudizi che e implicita nelle interpretazioni di Banfield, quanto nell’ambiguita del genere scientifico che egli propone in «Una comunita meridionale»...
