The Kingdom of Rantauprapat was a small kingdom that initially emerged in the upper reaches of the Bilah River. This research focuses on reconstructing the history of the Rantauprapat Kingdom through the utilization of historical relics found and historical research methods, as well as oral history methods. In particular literature, the starting point of the Rantauprapat kingdom is referred to as Poeldung. It is estimated that this kingdom existed from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, and it is known that the founder, named Patuan Bolatan, originated from Toba and was laid to rest behind the Sioldengan Village Castle housing. The existence of this kingdom became more evident during the reign of Patuan Bolatan's son, King Muda, around the mid-19th century. This was marked by the construction of the Palace in Sibuaya, formerly known as "Lobu in Bendahara Street," which has left a legacy as an ancient tomb complex. The existence of this kingdom subsequently extended from the king's residence on Padi Street to the relics of shop houses with ancient building typology on Pasar Lama Street and Veteran, as well as a tomb belonging to the last king of Rantauprapat, located in the Paindoan TPU complex

Until now, studies of Indonesian history have primarily concentrated on events that transpired on land, even though more than half of the territory of the Republic of Indonesia is composed of the sea. Such a dependency on the sea among many Indonesians indicates that a substantial portion of the past experiences and activities of the Archipelago's inhabitants has eluded the observation and research efforts of our nation's historians. This trend presents significant opportunities for the growth and development of Indonesian tourism. Indonesia, as the largest archipelagic country in the world, boasts rich biodiversity, a vast coastline of more than 81,000 km, and a total of 17,504 islands, among which 10,000 are classified as small islands, some of which remain unnamed and uninhabited. Mandar is one of the tribes in the archipelago that inhabits the coastal area of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan province, where the sea heavily influences its culture. The results of this study describe the potential for coastal tourism developed by the Mandar Community, which includes Pencak Silat, sea pandan handicrafts, and traditional sea alms ceremonies. The potential for tourism development is expected to transform these attractions into an economic catalyst for the local community in the area.

This research explores the dynamics of social and political life in East Sumatra from 1900 to 1942, focusing on the role of the Sultan, plantations, and Islam. The research employed historical research methods in four steps: heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected from relevant archives, books, articles, and reports on the research topic. The research is grounded in three hypotheses: 1) the Sultan and local elites played a significant role in the development of plantations in East Sumatra; 2) Islam served as a crucial factor in shaping political and social identities in East Sumatra; and 3) conflicts of interest between local elites and the colonial government influenced the dynamics of social and political life in East Sumatra during the studied period.

The development of technology-based teaching media in history aims to improve the quality of education by utilizing technology and enhancing historical awareness. The utilization of the Pandeglang Local History learning media holds excellent appeal for incorporating local history into the learning process. The innovative use of the Local History application further elucidates how technology can enhance historical awareness in the context of local history education. This study aims to develop teaching media based on local content to enhance students' historical awareness through technological advancements. The research approach employed in this study is Research and Development (R&D), explicitly using the 4D research development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The results demonstrated that using local history teaching media, as assessed through the Likert scale validation test, increased high school students' historical awareness. These findings are based on the results of the validation test, which included the design validation test of the Local History application, revealing a score of 100. Subsequently, the application teaching media test yielded a score of 100. Finally, the effectiveness of the Local History application was evaluated, resulting in a score of 100, demonstrating the success of the application's development

This study aims to analyze the importance of incorporating local content in teaching materials and provide relevant examples. A comprehensive analysis of the existing literature was conducted to describe the research findings. The study results depict the content related to the lives of Indonesian people during the Islamic period, addressing essential competencies. The findings also highlight the necessity for additional material descriptions and examples derived from local and regional history. Social studies learning can be further developed by reinforcing social studies teaching materials with local content. Therefore, local historical sources from Banjar are incorporated into social studies learning materials used in the classroom. These include the establishment of the Banjar Sultanate, the kings of Banjar, and the development of Banjar culture. The selection of the Banjar Sultanate as local content is based on its alignment with the periodization in Indonesian history.

Indonesia, with over 231 million Muslim people, is home to the world's largest Muslim population. However, the origins of Islam in Indonesia and the process of Islamization in the Archipelago are still highly debated topics among historians. Azyumardi Azra, a distinguished historian, and former UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta rector, has extensively researched Islamization in the Archipelago. This journal serves the purpose of delving into Azra's scholarly perspective, offering insights and analysis on the intricate process of Islamization within Indonesia. The present study adopts a literature review approach to comprehend and analyze Azra's writings. Azra postulates that the Islamic connections with the Archipelago can be traced back to Arab countries via trade routes, which were notably influenced by the triumphant spread of Islam into Persia and the Indian Subcontinent during the Umayyad dynasty (660-749H). In conclusion, Azra held a firm perspective regarding the significant Arab influence during the initial phases of Islamization in the Archipelago.
