The paper provides the data on mosses and liverworts of the Stolbovoy Island, situated in the New Siberian Islands of the Arctic Ocean, on the far north of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The annotated list includes 140 species of mosses and 58 species of liverworts. For every species, data on localities, frequency, habitats are provided. For the first time, 119 species of mosses and 54 species of liverworts were revealed for Stolbovoy Island, and 40 species of mosses and 22 species, 5 varieties, and 2 forms of liverworts for the New Siberian Islands. Schistidium grandirete, Cephalozia hamatiloba, Lophozia cf. svalbardensis, Scapania cf. ligulifolia are reported for the first time for Yakutia. Bryoerythrophyllum rubrum, Rhizomnium gracile, Sphagnum concinnum were revealed for the first time for Yakutia in our collections from Stolbovoy Island but published earlier. A new combination for Pseudotritomaria heterophylla f. anomala is published.

The paper provides data on morphology, ecology, differentiation and distribution of the crustose, epiphytic and epixylic lichen Rinodina sibirica in Eurasia. An anatomical and morphological description of R. sibirica is provided based on 138 specimens studied. Based on these records, we show that the distribution of the species from the Russian Far East is ranging from the Kamchatka Peninsula to the Mongolian border in the south and the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Tyumen Region in the west. Current data suggest that R. sibirica is an American-Asian species with a wide Amphiberingian range, only slightly extending to Europe in the Ural Mts.

Meringosphaera mediterranea is the type species of the genus. The species is widely distributed in the polar, temperate, and tropical marine waters. For many years the systematic position of this species was unclear (the most common opinion was that the species is xanthophyte or chrysophyte alga), and its affiliation to centrohelids was clarified quite recently. In this paper, we report on the finding of M. mediterranea in the East Siberian Sea and for the first time in the Laptev Sea and provide a description of this species accompanying by LM and SEM microphotographs. Also, we summarize all available published information on the global distribution of M. mediterranea.

Morphology and taxonomy of Aulacoseira muzzanensis (Bacillariophyta)

S. Genkal, I. Trifonova
Morphological investigation of wild populations of Aulacoseira granulata shows significant variability of its quantitative morphological characteristics: valve diameter and height; number of rows of areolae and number of areolae in 10 μm on the valve mantle; and number of spines and their length on separation valves. Low values of mantle height to valve diameter ratio and large numbers of areolae in 10 μm, typical for A. muzzanensis, are also found in populations of A. granulata. The valve height/diameter ratio decreases as the valve diameter increases, and such relationships also occur in other taxa of this genus (A. baicalensis, A. islandica, and A. subarctica). No correlation is found between valve diameter and number of spines in separation valves. Our investigations confirm the correctness of referring A. muzzanensis to the synonymy of A. granulata, and based on original and published data, we suggest emendation of the diagnosis of A. granulata.
瓣高/径比随瓣径的增大而减小,该属其它分类群(A. baicalensis、A. islandica和A. subarctica)也存在这种关系。

Bryophytes (Bryophyta, Marchantiophyta) of thermal habitats of the Lagoon Tintikun, Northern Koryakia, Kamchatka Territory

Mosses and liverworts of Govenskie thermal springs in the Lagoon Tintikun are studied for the first time. Govenskie thermal springs are northernmost in the Kamchatka Territory. We found 56 species of bryophytes, including 11 species of liverworts and 45 of mosses. Of these, 3 species are new for the Kamchatka Territory, 11 species are new for the Koryak Area of Kamchatka Territory and 16 species are new for the Olyutorskiy District. A distinctive feature of the partial flora of Govenskie springs is a significant part of the boreal and boreal-nemoral species (28% of the species list) that reflects the specific thermal habitat. Comparison of the latitudinal bryophyte species composition in gradient from Chukotka to Kamchatka shows a close taxonomic composition of bryophyte partial floras of Govenskie, Uzon (East Kamchatka) and Chukotka thermal springs. It can be assumed that a partial floras of Govenskie thermal springs represent a transition from the northern to the southern floras. The reason of distinctions of compared partial floras are discussed.

D. Chudaev
During the investigation of achnanthoid diatoms in the southern part of the Murmansk Region 32 species belonging to 1 order, 1 family and 6 genera were found. The genera Psammothidium and Achnanthidium were represented by the largest number of species. Eleven species are new for the flora of the region. Most species are characteristic for oligotrophic waters with low to medium electrolyte content and neutral to weakly acidic pH. A new nomenclatural combination Achnanthidium nodosum comb. nov. is proposed.
