Here we present information about the first findings of basidiomes of two species of the genus Inocybe (I. stellatospora, I. teraturgus) in Russia. The species were collected in the foothills and mountains of the western macroslope of the Subpolar and Northern Urals, on the territory of two protected areas: Yugyd Va National Park and Pechoro-Ilychsky Reserve (Komi Republic). Analysis of the ITS1-5.8s rRNA-ITS2 sequences of I. stellatospora and I. teraturgus samples confirmed their identification by morphological features. The article provides morphological descriptions of the species, photographs of microscopic features as well as discusses differences with morphologically similar species.

The second communication presents the results of our supplemented generalization and clarification of terms for dorsiventral and intermediate valve shapes, which are used to describe the morphology of diatoms. Glossary includes about 50 terms in Russian and English (excluding their synonyms), as well as their Latin translations. Short definitions of terms are given, including figures for the most of them.

Two specimens of a rare species Diderma aurantiacum collected in the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve and the territory of the Land of the Leopard National Park (Primorye Territory, Russian Federation) were found during revision of the myxomycete collection of the Mycological herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute (LE). These specimens are the first records of this species outside the Japanese islands. Diderma aurantiacum is characterized by a thick cartilaginous peridium of dull orange color that breaks into petal-like fragments during dehiscence, a small hemispherical columella, weakly branched dark capillitial threads with pale tips, and warted spores with darker warts arranged in small groups. The color photographs of sporocarp structures and SEM images of spores and capillitium are published for the first time. The partial nucleotide sequences of nrSSU (18S rDNA) and EF1α genes of specimens from the Russian Far East differed clearly from these of other Diderma species.

Revision of the genus Oncophorus s. str. in Russia based on throughout study of extensive materials kept in LE, MAG, MHA, MW, IRK, KRABG, NSK, PTZ and UUH was carried out. The genus is represented in Russia by two species, O. integerrimus and O. virens. New subspecies, O. virens subsp. minor has been revealed and described based on integrative morphological and molecular (plastid rps4 gene with trnS-rps4 spacer, plastid, trnL-trnF region and nuclear ITS1-2 region) studies. It differs from O. virens subsp. virens in very dense (vs. loose) tufts, smaller plant size (1–3 cm vs. (2)5–8 cm), smaller leaves [(1.3)1.7–2.1 × (0.4)0.6–0.7 mm vs. 2.4–4.0 × 0.6–1.0 mm)] and smaller mid-leaf cells [(4.3)5.0–9.5(15.0) × (7.6)8.9–11.4(13.0) µm vs. 8–17(20) × 6–10 µm]. Descriptions of O. integerrimus and both subspecies of O. virens together with their photomicrographs, graphic illustrations and a key for their differentiation are provided. Their distribution in Russia is discussed and mapped.

The discovery of a new for Siberia suboceanic nemoral lichen Nephromopsis ornata is reported. All collected specimens fully correspond to the morphological description of the species and differ from other representatives of the genus in the light-yellow color of the medulla. The new locality is more than 1500 km away from the previously known ones. The habitat conditions and associated species are described. Within the surveyed area, there are also other East Asian lichens with disjunctive ranges — Dolichousnea diffracta and Parmelia shinanoana. At present, this is the extreme northwestern locality of Nephromopsis ornata.

The total revealed lichen diversity of Strelninsky Bereg Protected Area includes 130 species, 123 of them are lichenized, four are lichenicolous, and three are non-lichenized saprobic fungi. The lichen biota of Strelninsky Bereg is quite rich, despite extremely small size of the area. The lichen Lecania olivacella is new to Russia. Bacidina pycnidiata, Fellhanera bouteillei, and Lecidella subviridis are new to North-Western European Russia. Nine lichen species reported from Strelninsky Bereg are red-listed in St. Petersburg. The reappearance of Leptogium saturninum, which was not recorded in St. Petersburg more than last 90 years, could reflect a decline of atmospheric pollution in the city suburbs. Successful occasional reintroduction of foliose lichens Flavoparmelia caperata, Hypotrachyna revoluta, and Punctelia jeckeri could be possible as a result of modern climate change in the region of St. Petersburg and in the World.

As a result of the revision of the herbarium material stored at the V. F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (MSK), 17 lichen species from the genus Micarea have been identified for Belarus, of which six are reported for the first time for the republic: M. byssacea, M. microareolata, M. nowakii, M. pusilla, M. pseudomicrococca, and M. soralifera. In addition, four other species are known for Belarus according to the literature. In general, the paper provides a list of 21 Micarea species. The distinguishing characters, differences from similar species, distribution in Belarus, as well as phytocoenotic and substrate confinement are discussed for each of them. A key for identification of Micarea species in Belarus is given.
