This is a bioethical investigation into the nature of the endemic crisis, its survival, and the social construction of moral obligation during the Ebola crisis in Liberia, West Africa. The 2014 outbreak in West Africa was the most considerable, most severe, and most complex Ebola epidemic thus far. At the close of the crisis in Liberia, six thousand infected persons survived unexpectedly. The ethics of Ebola and survival is exceptionally complicated and requires a complex theoretical explanation. While a categorical analysis of ethical theory cannot cover the full scope of this moral dilemma, a single concept carried over a range of models does; and, that concept is known as moral obligation. Exploring the obligation of others toward Ebola survivors helps locate, justify, and analyze the fear-based system of morality that arose from the world’s most severe endemic crisis. Examining the obligations of government, community, individuals, and foreign research initiatives toward the survivors of the West African Ebola endemic in Monrovia, this article explores the varying moralities of endemic crisis culture as it examines the complexity of judgment related to social obligation.

The gradual implementation of the new curriculum reform has led to a particularly severe challenge in the teaching of English and American literature, which still adopts the traditional teaching mode. Interpretation of text is the focus of cognitive poetics, which can effectively combine people’s daily cognitive ability and literary ability, thus enlightening the teaching of British and American literature. Incorporating the concept of cognition into English and American literature textbooks can completely subvert the traditional evaluation and teaching mode in the past. It is also an effective way to improve students’ humanistic quality and improve the communication between students’ literary cognition and daily cognition experience.

Poetry is an integral part of the artistic framework of A Dream of Red Mansions , and plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere, portraying characters, and reflecting social reality, therefore it has both unique artistic charm and research value. This paper takes Kuhn’s and Schwarz’s translation of A Dream of Red Mansions as the research objects, selects 19 poems that both translators have translated to make a corpus, uses the software LancsBox to compare the translations from three levels of vocabulary, syntax, and text, in order to provide a new interpretation dimension for the translation research of A Dream of Red Mansions and enrich the application of the corpus-based method in the field of translation research of Chinese classics.

Since the era of tourism gaze, in the process of shaping cultural tourism images, film and television works have influenced the landscape formation and cultural transmission of a place through the lens and the attention of the audiences. With the evolution of media and the development of technology, the short videos on rural cultural tourism in China in the digital era go beyond gazing but directly generate the landscape and culture of a place in the real-time multi-directional interaction. With the mobilization mode of dual sensory integration, the short videos on rural cultural tourism in China become geographic media attracting users to participate in emotional communication and tourism practice beyond the objective rational orientation. They attract users to integrate re-localization experiences in real world from the media localization image presentation, and trigger embodied practice from virtual sensory presence. By the ubiquitous interactive nature of digital media and reality, the short videos demonstrate the constructive and generative power of symbolic reality for reality. With the help of technology, the short videos spread local culture all over the world via pre-storing the physical tourism in the callable space and topological time. Through the free transduction of relational logical networks, the short videos make the transition from Plato’s cave, the mimicry environment into the real world, to awaken perception of Chinese solar terms from the time-less sequence, and construct tourism and culture, online, and offline.

“Ewenki” ( Эвенки ) is a nomadic group scattered in Northeast Asia, who spent their hunting-gathering life peacefully in the forest for generations since they resettled at the right bank of Argun River. However, the geopolitics of East Asia has changed dramatically last century, an ancient world with blurred borders was reaffirmed as a sovereignty with clear boundaries, a feudal dynasty transformed into a new nation-state. The Argun River happened to be identified as the Sino-Russian border river. Thus, the Ewenki was officially recognized as an ethnic minority and the area where they inhabited has experienced a series of spatial reconfiguration in the next decades promoted by local government, designed to bring modern life and development to the tribe. The paper will explore these spatial games and representations including the construction and re-shape of the border, interpret the displacement, transition, and new lifestyle that the Ewenki experienced, and finally, reflect on the discourse of development.

Adorno’s thought is redemptive in nature. Adorno combines Benjamin’s view of religious redemption and Marx’s view of technical salvation, and sees art as an important way of human salvation. Adorno considers history as a dialectical movement of barbarism and civilization, and historical suffering can be recalled and imitated through art. The redemption of thought requires the reconciliation of subject and object, and in the language of art, the subject and object achieve true reconciliation.

Jiao Xun’s drama edification concept emphasizes “morality” and “emotion” at the same time, which expresses his tendency for drama conception to move closer to classics. Jiao Xun thinks that drama creation values the audience’s acceptance, which also makes drama an effective testing ground for re-processing the relationship between “morality” and “emotion” in Confucianism; and Jiao Xun respects folk daily life in popular literary forms to promote moral enlightenment, which shows that drama research has become one of his practical methods of “changing customs”.

As one of the monasteries standing in English history for thousands of years, Tintern Abbey has great research value in religious history, architectural aesthetics, literature, and art. This paper selects the novels and the works of artists such as Wordsworth, Turner to explain that Tintern Abbey symbolizes the passing of the British rural community, the game between kingship and religious power, the natural representation in industrial civilization, and the disappointment of returning to the middle ages.
