Design and comparison of two multi-disc permanent magnet motors for aeronautical application 两种航空用多盘永磁电机的设计与比较

This paper explains a design and the comparison of two multi-disc permanent magnet motor. The actuator must provide answers to the volume constraint and torque. This application is employed in land transport for aeronautical field. The axial flux motors become interesting when obtaining large surfaces of air-gap with the traditional machines is no possible. Indeed, surfaces of air-gap are more important in comparison with a radial flux machine, and, in a given volume, they allow to obtain a higher torque. After having shown the multi-air gap structure, we describe the design method from elementary cells. That's why two types the disc-type motor were selected. This paper clearly shows the efficient topology of a disc-type multi-air gap machine.

Analysis of a three phase induction motor with outer rotor for multi-speed applications 多转速外转子三相感应电动机分析

This paper presents a study upon a new configuration of an outer rotor induction motor with multipole stator winding. The new design comes out as a result of a reconfiguration process of a real model by means of FEM-based analysis. The main transformation consists in replacement of the regular drum winding with a toroidal one, which allows a high flexibility in changing the number of pole pairs. The purpose is mainly to create the possibility of obtaining a superior torque capability by changing the synchronous speed. The primary study started with the laboratory experimental tests of the basic model followed by a simulation based on finite element method. Further, the drum winding has been replaced with a toroidal (ring) one designed for p = 1, p = 2 and p = 4. In this structure, new simulations have been run in order to make a proper comparison to the real model. The analysis tool used both magneto-dynamic and transient simulations.

Analysis of the bearingless AC homopolar motor 无轴承交流单极电机分析

The bearingless ac homopolar motor has numerous advantages over classical machines for applications such as flywheel energy storage and as a superconducting machine. In this paper, the bearingless ac homopolar motor is analyzed. Inductance matrices, alignment and reluctance torque calculations, suspension winding configurations, and radial suspension force calculations are presented for two rotor structures. Unlike previous literature, expressions for torque interference caused by suspension force winding configurations and effects of d-axis flux on suspension forces are developed and presented. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that each rotor structure can be analyzed as an equivalent classical machine to allow for easy comparison.

A linear magnetic gear 一种直线磁齿轮制造技术

Linear magnetic gears, when coupled with a linear permanent magnet machine, are a high-efficiency, high-reliability and force-dense alternative to traditional linear actuation solutions. It is shown that the force density of a linear magnetic gear is affected by the required output stroke and gear ratio. A technique based on lumped parameter magnetic circuits is presented. It is employed for prediction of the flux density waveforms and the thrust force of the magnetic gear, which are in good agreement with those predicted by magnetostatic finite element analysis. A prototype 3.25:1 linear magnetic gear is described. It is shown that the force capability of the linear magnetic gear can be very sensitive to manufacturing tolerances, in particular those related to the spacing between the pole-piece rings.

Design of direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous motors for an electric sports car 电动跑车用直驱永磁同步电机设计

A design process of a direct driven permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) for a full electric sports car is presented. The rotor structure of the machine consists of two permanent magnet layers embedded inside the rotor laminations thus resulting in some inverse saliency. An integer slot stator winding was selected to clearly take advantage of the additional reluctance torque. The performance characteristics of the designed PMSM were calculated utilizing two-dimensional finite element method. Cross-saturation between d- and q-axes was taken into account in the calculation of synchronous inductances. The calculation results are validated with the measurements.

In order to boost up the calculation precision of d-q space vector analysis, new approach for estimating parameters of line-starting permanent magnet motors is developed. Introducing leakage-flux and magnetizing-flux variations dependant on not only stator excitation but also rotor one, transient characteristics and steady-state performance are calculated. Thorough the comparison with finite element analysis, the validity of the proposed method is verified. Especially, it is notable that it can provide at short times accurate quasi-steady-state average torque and precise critical load torque for self-starting.

Analytical model of parallel magnetized magnet segments of surface PM slotless machine 表面永磁无槽机平行磁化磁段的解析模型

An analytical model of slotless PM motor with segmented magnets is presented. The Ampere's approach is adopted for the modeling of permanent magnets and separation variables method is used to calculate magnetic field in all magnetic air-gap of the motor. The model considers parallel magnetized magnet segments by the introduction of volume current densities inside the magnet regions as well as surface currents on their boundaries. A finite element package is used to validate the proposed model.

Modeling continuous windings under transients with TLM and ATP 用TLM和ATP建模瞬态下的连续绕组

This work presents the performance of the well-known program ATP-Alternative Transient Program applied to the simulation of continuous windings of transformer under the incidence of a voltage surge. The motivation for this analysis lies in the fact that once ATP is widely applied for circuit simulation in several conditions, it is expected that it can also be applicable to this problem that is of significant importance for transformer designer. If so, thanks to wide ATP availability designers will have available an easy and user friendly tool for helping in their designs. Basis of analysis is in new experimental data obtained by the authors as well as some other data presented in previously published paper, in which experimental data have also validated applicability of the TLM- Transmission Line Modeling Method for the same problem, known as a classical one for concerns of voltage insulation for transformer designers.

On the validity of the harmonic superposition principle for computing rotor eddy current losses in permanent magnet machines 谐波叠加原理计算永磁电机转子涡流损耗的有效性

One of the issues in the design of surface permanent magnet machines is the prediction of rotor eddy current losses due to space harmonics in the armature reaction field. In performing this calculation, it is a common practice to apply the superposition principle, i.e. the power loss due to each single armature reaction field harmonic is computed and then the single loss contributions are summed to find the total losses. Such method would be correct if all stator harmonics produced rotor eddy currents with different frequency, but this is not generally the case. This paper investigates if and under what conditions the harmonic superposition principle can be applied without causing calculation errors. The investigation is extended to different kind of permanent-magnet machines, including surface-mounted, Halback and interior permanent magnet rotor topologies.

In performing this calculation, it is a common practice to apply the superposition principle, i.e. the power loss due to each single armature reaction field harmonic is computed and then the single loss contributions are summed to find the total losses. Such method would be correct if all stator harmonics produced rotor eddy currents with different frequency, but this is not generally the case. This paper investigates if and under what conditions the harmonic superposition principle can be applied without causing calculation errors. A brief review of permanent magnet (PM) synchronous generators with hybrid field excitation systems and output voltage regulation capabilities has been presented. Both series and parallel hybrid field excitation systems have been discussed. The review emphasizes the construction, advantages, drawbacks and basic characteristics of PM synchronous generators with additional field excitation winding placed either on the stator or rotor.
