The recent emergence of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standard has made multimedia content sharing among devices in home networks easier than ever before. Several studies have focused on extending the operation of DLNA devices beyond the home networks based on devices called home gateways (HGs). However, these architectures just limit on sharing between two home networks. In order to connect with another home network or when the D? address of a HG is changed, they require the reconfiguration from users. This paper proposes a novel architecture in which a DLNA cloud (DC) plays a role in managing all of HGs. The HGs just need to be configured in the first time connecting to the DC. Sharing policy is built based on the users' relationship in a social network In this architecture, DLNA users can easily share their content with their friends over the Internet. External multimedia content is transparently played in the home network as if it is located at user's HG. In addition, we also propose procedures for communication between the HG and the DC; as well as between the HG, the DC and the social network system (SNS).

In multi-beam satellite communication systems, users suffer from 3dB power attenuation in beam-edge area. This problem also exists in terrestrial cellular network. To solve this problem, terrestrial system employs joint transceiving that makes adjacent cells transmit signals together. The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of joint transceiving by compositing beams for satellite systems. The equal-gain combination algorithm is presented to simplify beams from component beams. Then we propose a joint transceiving scheme based on component beams based on a simplified processing algorithm. Simulation results show that SIR of users in beam-edge increases by 6dB when using the joint transceiving scheme.

OFDM based Ultra Wideband (UWB) system combines OFDM modulation technique with a multi banding approach, which divides the spectrum into several sub-bands, whose bandwidth is approximately 528MHz. It is a popular method for high data rate wireless communications. MIMO techniques promise a significant boost in the performance of OFDM systems. In this paper, a novel design UWB MIMO OFDM system using a compact double-sided printed antenna having ultra-wideband and band-notched characteristic is proposed. The UWB antennas are designed on CST Microwave studio simulation software with return loss less than -10dB, and further using the results from CST, OFDM transmission and reception on a MIMO system is done on MATLAB software. The MIMO UWB antennas are designed using polarization diversity of the individual antennas. The performance of this system is studied using BPSK modulation and finally bit error rate and operating range is obtained. The transmitting bandwidth is UWB (i.e. 3.1-10.6GHz) and the receiving bandwidth is notch UWB (notch bandwidth 5-5.9GHz) are chosen to reduce the interference at the receiver side. Furthermore, a MIMO UWB system is designed at a frequency of 9.4GHz that is used for micro power radar application in the ultra wideband removing the interference from WLAN band.

In this paper, we study power allocation for D2D communications in heterogeneous networks utilizing game theory approach to improve the performance of the whole system. Given D2D's underlay status in the system, Stackelberg game framework is well suited for the situation. In our scheme, macrocell system and femtocell system are considered as two leaders and D2D pairs are considered as the follower, forming a two-leader-one-follower Stackelberg game. The leaders act first, charging some fees from the follower for using the channel and causing interference to jeopardize their communication equality. The follower observes the leaders' behavior and develops its strategy based on the prices offered by the leaders. We analyse the procedure and obtain the Stackeberg equilibrium, which determines the optimal prices for the leaders and optimal transmit power for the follower. In the end, simulations are executed to validate the proposed allocation method, which significantly improves data rate of user equipments.

In this paper, we show the measurement results of frequency offset (FO) estimation in Digital Video Broadcasting for Cable version 2 (DVB-C2) receiver which uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). Because FO causes inter-carrier interference (ICI) in a multicarrier system, it should be estimated and compensated to improve the performance of a multicarrier receiver. FO can be divided into fractional frequency offset (FFO) and integer frequency offset (IFO) if FO is normalized to subcarrier spacing. The implemented FO estimator consists of FFO and D70 estimator. FFO estimator uses cyclic prefix (CP) in time domain and is implemented using coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) algorithm. D70 estimator uses the correlation with unique synchronization sequence (USS) of preamble in frequency domain. First, we simulate the mean square error (MSE) of FO compensation algorithm w.r.t additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with computer simulation. Next, we implement FO estimator using in field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The implemented FO estimator has the resolution of 1 Hz approximately from measurement results of it.

A green Internet is becoming a major concern recently. The main concept of it is to improve energy efficiency in the Internet for reduction of unnecessary energy consumption. Generally, energy consumption of data network equipment in the Internet is unknown although they use a substantial amount of energy. In this area, there is a lack of deeper related studies with a special focus on wired networking and it still remains to be many challenges. This paper aims at exploring an impact of data network equipment for greening the Internet. We first introduce backgrounds and motivations of green networking on aspect of energy consumption. Secondly, we estimate energy consumption and energy savings potential of data network equipment in detail. Thirdly, we assess impacts of it based on IP traffic type and propose new viewpoint on energy efficiency focused on the QoS. Lastly, we propose the future works for green networking from the perspective of QoS.

Cloud computing is set of resources and services offered through the Internet. Cloud services are delivered from data centres located throughout the world. Cloud computing facilitates its consumers by providing virtual resources via internet. The rapid growth in field of "cloud computing" also increases severe security concerns. Security has remained a constant issue for Open Systems and internet, when we are talking about security, cloud really suffers. Lack of security is the only hurdle in wide adoption of cloud computing. Cloud computing is surrounded by many security issues like securing data and examining the utilization of cloud by the cloud computing vendors. This paper proposes a scheme to securely store and access of data via internet. We have used ECC based PKI for certificate procedure because the use of ECC significantly reduces the computation cost, message size and transmission overhead over RSA based PKI as 160-bit key size in ECC provides comparable security with 1024-bit key in RSA. We have designed Secured Cloud Storage Framework (SCSF). In this framework, users not only can securely store and access data in cloud but also can share data with multiple users through the unsecure internet in a secured way. This scheme can ensure the security and privacy of the data in the cloud.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication faces the most critical challenge that when a massive number of MTC devices perform random access, there will be severe congestions. 3GPP developed a network coordinated random access stabilization scheme known as the access class barring(ACB) to deal with the problem in LTE-Advanced. However, MTC devices in overlapped areas still suffer severe access delays due to the noncooperation and individual setting of ACB factor among BSs. We propose evolutionary game based ACB algorithm to help MTC devices alleviate congestions and thus eliminate substantial defects in the ordinary ACB. Finally, the performance of the evolutionary game based ACB algorithm is analysed, and simulation results show the convergence and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
