Optimum stealthy aircraft detection using a multistatic radar 最佳隐形飞机探测使用多基地雷达

Radar systems, based on Multistatic radar concept attracted a substantial attention in the recent years. The paper proposes system geometry for S-band Multistatic radar. This technique is used for detecting and tracking the small cross section area and stealthy aircrafts. The proposed geometrical structures are studied with different radars spacing to extend the detection coverage over the Monostatic radar used for air surveillance. The radar detection coverage is also studied with all possible stealthy aircraft paths to find the improvement achieved from using this type of radar. The simulation is done using Matlab program. The results show that the first system geometry with two transmitters and four receivers extends the detection coverage 80 Km for small aircraft and 62 Km for stealthy targets. The second system geometry with two transmitters and six receivers extends the detection coverage 85 Km for small targets and 69 Km for stealthy targets. The achieved SNR from these system geometries guarantee a high probability of detection for small and stealthy aircraft detection.

QoS in web service-based collaborative multimedia environment 基于web服务的协同多媒体环境中的QoS

With the increasing growth of multimedia communication and Web services technologies, a number of collaborative media services are being built for ubiquitous user access. However, there exist so many devices with similar functionality but with heterogeneous QoS capability. In order to have suitable services according to desired QoS, services need to be selected. This article presents the corresponding approach to service selection for collaborative multimedia environment. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. It also shows that our approach can work well for Web services-based collaborative environment.

An interactive approach for QualNet-based network model evaluation and testing at real time 一种基于qualnet的网络模型实时评估与测试的交互式方法

Network simulators, e.g., QualNet, have been widely used for the sake of cost efficiency in network model evaluation and testing. In order to evaluate and test the impacts of parameters on network models, massive simulations and result analysis are typically running repetitively in a sealed virtual environment per a non-real-time simulated clock apart from real-time human interactions. The major drawback of this caustic approach is obvious in large-scale network simulations with long simulation time and hardware-in-the-loop accessories, when the result analysis must be adaptive to human factors in nowadays computer networks. In this paper, we design and implement an interactive real-time user interface (RTUI), which is a reliable human-in-the-loop framework that allows human users to dynamically modify the parameters of network model during the simulation process. With negligible delays and overhead, the impacts of parameter changing on network model can be actualized and measured at real time, rather than in a repetitive manner of the conventional approach, resulting in RTUI's time-efficiency and cost-efficiency in network protocol debugging and assessment.

Geometrical channel characterization for high speed railway environments using propagation graphs methods 基于传播图方法的高速铁路环境几何通道表征

In this paper, a new geometry-based channel characterization technique for the high-speed railway scenarios is employed by using the graphic methods. The multi-dimensional channel parameters, such as time delay and Doppler property, can be extracted analytically for the specific environment. By using the graph modeling approach, the channel impulse responses (CIRs) can be calculated by searching for propagation paths, which provide a solid theoretical foundation for high-quality research of ultra-high-speed mobile communications. Then Von Mises distribution is used to model the non-uniform Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) at Rx, and the simulation results can be applied to characterize the feasibility of the theoretical channel modeling method. Finally, the established model is compared with the actual measurement data in cutting scenario. The statistical results from the proposed model including the time-varying power delay profile and rapid Doppler transition show a good match with the experimental data, which shows that the study of the proposed modeling method is significant.

Load balancing routing algorithm among multiple gateways in MANET with Internet connectivity 具有Internet连接的MANET中多网关间负载均衡路由算法

When MANET is connected into the Internet, the gateways are the entry points of all traffic between the hybrid networks. Usually, a large amount of traffic load may become concentrated in some gateways and congestion occurs. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes a load balancing routing algorithm, called LBRA, in MANET to distribute the traffic load among multiple gateways. Through simulation, we show that the proposed algorithm can distribute the traffic load uniformly among multiple gateways and suppress the increase in the routing path length at most 20% compared to the shortest path routing.

On the spectrum-efficiency of transparent optical transport network design with variable-rate forward error correction codes 可变速率前向纠错码透明光传输网络的频谱效率研究

We discuss the flexible rate optical transmission enabled by forward error correction (FEC) codes adjustment. The adaptation of FEC codes to given transmission condition gives rise to trade-off between transmission rate and optical reach. In this paper, that compromise is addressed from network planning standpoint. A static transparent network planning taking into account that rate-reach trade-off is formulated. A case study is solved in realistic NSF network with a comparison between mixed line rate (MLR) (10/40/100 Gbps) and flexible rate (FlexRate) by FEC variation (10-100 Gbps with a step of 10 Gbps). The result shows that the maximum link load could be reduced up to ~60% in FlexRate compared with MLR and the reduction becomes evident at high traffic load. Moreover, thanks to finer rate adaptation, the FlexRate could support an amount of traffic around three times higher than MLR.

Malaysia Communications Content and Infrastructure purview are moving forward in making digital lifestyles as a reality for all Malaysians including having transformational paradigm in achieving easier access to internet and experiences the socio benefits of an interconnected life. The main aim of this study is to provide information on the Malaysia's broadband demand forecast until year 2020, the strategies and policy implication to accommodate the needs of citizens and essentials for Malaysia in the journey to achieved Developed Nations by year 2020. The methods used in this study are Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in two time periods; from year 2002-2011 and year 2006-2011 that used as the market penetration rate in order to identify the broadband demand forecast based on the national population projection until year 2020. Moreover, this study referred to the multiple collections of literature reviews and secondary data from the Government Reports and Statistics about policies and strategies on how Malaysia ensuring the broadband access for all become reality.

Feasibility of an FDM system using Mach-Zehnder filters in a smart grid 智能电网中Mach-Zehnder滤波器FDM系统的可行性

The present paper describes the feasibility of the FDM system using Mach-Zehnder filters for a power control system in a smart grid. The interconnection of large quantities of the distributed power sources, such as PV power sources, to the current bulk power grids is anticipated, and as a result, fluctuations of voltage and frequency will increase and make the adjustment of the power demand-supply balance difficult. By applying information communication technology to a power supply system in order to control the digital grid routers, energy-savings, and a stable power supply, the widespread use of renewable energy is expected. The digital grid cell includes numerous consumers, such as houses, office buildings and factories, which may or may not have PV power sources. The proposed FDM system enables the processing of a great deal of information to be exchanged incoherently between consumers and power generators, because the FDM system has the capability of 2N transmission channels and the transfer functions of which can be expressed as the basis of the plain representation of the transfer function of the Mach-Zehnder filter. Using the FDM system, it will be possible to control a power supply system in a smart grid in order to maintain a stable power supply, energy savings, and a suitable adjustment of the power demand-supply balance.

Routing algorithm using channel based hop counting for wireless ad-hoc networks 无线自组织网络中基于信道跳数的路由算法

A wireless ad-hoc network is a decentralized wireless network and a routing protocol is important to support efficient data transmission in wireless ad-hoc network. Conventional routing schemes considered the number of hops to determine the routing path. However, channel condition is an important factor to determine successful data transmission. In this paper, we propose a routing algorithm that consider successful transmission rate of each link. The advantage of the proposed algorithm is that it can be easily applied to conventional routing algorithms by using channel-based hop count.

Efficient and fast multi-view face detection based on feature transformation 基于特征变换的高效快速多视图人脸检测

The training time of Adaboost to obtain the strong classifier is usually time-consuming. Moreover, to deal with rotated faces, it is natural to need much more processing time for both training and execution stages. In this paper, we propose new efficient and fast multi-view face detection method based on Adaboost. From the robustness property of Harr-like feature, we first construct the strong classifier more effective to detect rotated face, and then we also propose new method that can reduce the training time. We call the method feature transformation method, which rotates and reflects entire weak classifiers of the strong classifier to construct new strong classifiers. Using our proposed feature transformation method, elapsed training time decrease significantly. We also test our face detectors on real-time HD images, and the results show the effectiveness of our proposed method.
