In this paper, we present a modification of the two-step Newton's method which produces a class of one-parameter iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations. An interpolating polynomial is constructed to avoid the evaluation of derivative. The convergence analysis shows that the new methods are third-order convergent and require one function and two first derivative evaluations per iteration. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the presented methods.

The empirical model of climatological calculation has high precision in Jiangsu that has flat terrain and noncomplex atmospheric environment. In this paper, the monthly percentage of sunshine and total solar radiation from 3 solar radiation stations in Nanjing, Lvsi and Huaian in Jiangsu Province and from 7 other stations in surrounding provinces were used to calculate the empirical coefficient a and b by using climatology methods. The empirical coefficient a and b and the monthly total solar radiation of 70 other stations in Jiangsu were obtained using variety of scheme. The result shows that the monthly total solar radiation which was calculated based on a and b from the inverse distance weighted interpolation method has the least error and distribution of solar radiation in Jiangsu was discussed.

In order to study the seismic response of super tall building, super tall building-foundation-soil interaction (SFSI) was considered under earthquake excitation in time domain. Meanwhile the program of force restoring constitutive models of concrete, steel bars, steel frame structure was developed. In addition, the nonlinear characteristic of soil was presented by Cohr-Moulomb criterion which matches Drucker-Prager criterion. The model of 3-D elastic-plastic seismic response of SFSI was established. The viscous damping of soil and the nonlinear contact between soil and foundation were considered. By taking practical engineering example of super tall building, the dynamic behaviors and elastic-plastic time-history analysis were calculated. The results of analysis showed that the dynamic behaviors and mechanics of structural components obviously changed. The results have significant engineering application for the seismic time-history analysis of SFSI.

Anti submarine warfare is the problem of searching and relocating the submarine after momentarily revealing its position. The conventional submarines run on its batteries when submerged and the submarine's evasion effect is constrainted with not only its top speed but also its battery energy. The conventional submarine's velocity and energy are two important constrained conditions in escaping. With analyzing the typical anti-submarine warfare model and process, the Game Theory is applied in researching the submarine evasion effect constrained by the submarine's velocity and battery energy.

Urban green spaces play an important role in urban ecosystems, they provide diverse environmental and social services to improve the quality of life in cities. In this study, based on the high resolution remote sensing images and other auxiliary data, we conducted a suitability analysis for the city of Changzhou under the support of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. In addition, landscape index were also involved in the quantitative assessment of green landscape with high suitability. Results revealed that the green patches in Changzhou were seriously fragmented, middle and small patches accounted for 96% of the total amount of green patches and 40% of the total green landscape area. In the highly suitable region, the green patches with middle and small size should take up 45% of the total amount and 14% of the total area, its patch structure is obviously superior to whole the city. The Yellow Mountain, Qing Ming and Fang Mao Mountain area, in the northern and eastern part of Changzhou, were less fragmented. It is evidenced by a high aggregation index and a developed green landscape in these areas. For the low suitable areas, attention should be paid to increase the arbor coverage rate, reduce the fragmentation degree and the layout of patch.

A fast fractal coding algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm is based on Jacquin's full search algorithm. When matching range-domain blocks, by utilizing the variance of the image block and the relativity between the image blocks, this algorithm performs twice pre-searching, thus avoiding vast matching computation and reducing the coding time greatly. Experimental results show that the coding time can be reduced approximately by 80% while the PSNR of the most reconstructed images is increased by this algorithm.

In this paper a class of two species mutual interference predator-prey model with nonlinear increasing rate and functional response is studied. The stability of equilibrium, the sufficient conditions of nonexistence and conditions of the existence and uniqueness of the limit cycle around the positive equilibrium of the system are discussed. Some new results obtained, the theoretical results in this paper are confirmed by numerical simulations.
